Mimosa: what are you struggling with right now?
"Time management, mostly that there's not enough hours in the day. I always liked how busy my job keeps me and the unpredictable shift patterns, but it turns out that's hard to navigate when you've got a son and try to navigate both of those things. Some days I think I'm killing it and keeping all the plates spinning, other days we might as well be at a Greek wedding because it feels like I'm dropping them all."

"I might be, just a smidge," He pinches the air with his index finger and thumb but keeps them from touching to show just minuscule his meddling was. If it just so happened that two of his favorite folks found something in each other, that would hardly be the worst thing in the world.
"No, Christina's at home with Colt ringing in the New Year. I'm here with Wren, she's--" He pauses to look around, trying to spot where exactly his date had gotten off to. "I actually have no idea where she is, I better go find her, if that's even possible with all these masks."
Before he leaves, he makes a semi-serious face at her, like he means what's next.
"I do want that tea though, so catch me up when I catch up you. Have a great night, Niks, you deserve it."

The absolute last thing he wanted was to send Colton back home to his mom and have to explain why his vocabulary had expanded at his dad's house, especially when he was still in a phase where he wanted to do everything Dallas did.
When that concern passes and he dials back into the conversation at hand, he switches up with intrigue, punching Chase's bicep lightly.
"Fuck off, with who?" It's only after he asks the obvious question does he query the phrasing. "What do you mean believe? You either are or aren't, ain't these things usually pretty cut and dry."

Chase grimaces, his front teeth press together as his lips curve downward. His gaze shifts from the little five year old to his best friend, a slight shrug of his shoulders to apologize about what had happened and came out of his mouth. He would have been more careful had he known little man was there but he also should just start assuming on Dallas' days off he was going to have the kid. "I was going to say. Rise and shine, man. I would never use potty word," he tries to clean up the mess.
But the next thing he knows Dallas is pushing him back toward the kitchen. "Sincerely, my dude." He mutters, raising a hand and placing it on his chest. "I would have never come in here with those bad words if I had known. From this day forward I swear to only say good morning to you even though it's honestly not as fun."
"I did come here because I need advice." He clears his throat. "I believe I'm going on a date tonight."

For the briefest moment, Dallas worries a further step onto the rooftop might get him launched over it, causing him to look at the woman carefully until her temperament shifted like unpredictable weather.
"Ah, you had me going there for a second," He admits, deciding to drift near to where she was standing rather than to appear standoffish by deliberately occupying the guardrail on the other side. "Insomnia and an effort to not wake my roommate by pacing around the apartment, how about you?"

"Dad!" Colton says quickly, his head turning to look at his father who was sat on the couch behind where he was kneeled with his latest lego masterpiece, an index finger pointed to Chase like he was accusing him of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials. "Chase was about to cuss."
"No he wasn't," Dallas answers just as fast, his eyes on Chase like he was trying to relay the message 'come on man' with his stare. He's not sure his son bought it, but he had gone back to what he was building which he took as indication enough, rising from his seat to lead his friend into the kitchen before he accidentally caught anymore bad behaviour accusations.
"You know a hello works just fine, right?"
