A more descriptive name will be put up later. But right now, its my cosplay and anime pics that i took at ...well, animefest. reposts of cute anime things...i dunno. I'm new, i haven't thought it through!
The reason supervillains explain their plans in front of the protagonist is because they are so passionate about their work and want others to acknowledge and appreciate it that they can’t help but share. They want, albeit from an enemy, to feel validated.
Did you know that AO3 allows fics with homicide in them? There’s a whole tag for Major Character Death and even more tags so you can find exactly what kind of character death you want to read.
Don’t they know that murder is illegal? You just know there are a bunch of homicidal maniacs out there who love to read those stories. They write them, too, in between killing people.
Anyone can read the stories on AO3! Kids can read them! They’re getting exposed to stabbing, poisoning, even guns! And they’re writing the heroes doing the killing, too! That’s basically telling kids it’s okay to go out and murder their families. It’s promoting violence and encouraging homicide and if we don’t do something about it soon, you’ll be murdered next!
So...it was my birthday today and...literally everything I got was Riddler-themed. I'm going to take this as my friends and family accept and enable my obsessions and not as 'my only discernable personality trait is simping Riddler'
“We as a fandom have to talk about-” No. No we don’t. You can talk about it if you want to. That’s fine, if that’s how you fandom then go for it. I hope it works out for you because I want you to enjoy your fandom experience. But if I’m in fandom for reasons that’s counter to, then I have no obligation to talk about it. I don’t have to talk about anything except what I want to.
“Okay but you have to talk about your fave’s flaws-” No! No I don’t! I have to be able to acknowledge those flaws when they come up. I have to be able to admit that my character has flaws, and accept when others talk about those flaws. But I don’t have to talk about them if I don’t want to. If I want to only focus on the better aspects of my fave, even if that means just shallowly talking about how hot they are, I can. That’s my choice, that’s how I’ve decided to enjoy them.
Fandom is meant to be fun. Fandom is meant to be a hobby. I don’t have to talk about any aspect of my favorite story or ship or character or writer or anything if I don’t want to. You know what’s not fun? Having to talk about the ways my favorite thing is bad every time I want to talk about it. Having to point out my favorite thing’s flaws instead of the things that makes me enjoy it. Having to disclaim before I get to sing something’s praises because “yeah I know it’s shit BUT”. No. I can know something is bad without needing to talk about it.
If you were to ask someone who is only familiar with Batman from the sixties show who Batman’s greatest enemy is, they’d probably say the Riddler, because he had so many appearances and Frank Gorshin’s excellent character work made such an impression.
Put a reporter and early version of a newspaper in your dnd campaign
At the end of every mission/ordeal have the reporter interview the players as to what happened
After session on the campaign discord type up a hilariously uncharitable summary of the events that took place and start making falsehoods. And most importantly: spell a party member’s name wrong
“Local sea elf beats vandal and promises to kill again”
“Star cross lovers, gangsters come to tragic end at the hands of murderous vigilantes”
