They always understood the assignment, we just didn’t get it.
So I had a massive realization about Peni Parker after watching ATSV. Originally many were mad that she was super different in her movie debut which I get going from her clear Eva inspiration to just being anime.
When she briefly appears in “Across” she looks more accurate. (just being depressed)
A lot would think that she’s now gonna stay like this to fix their error but if you get to the end of the film…
Her smile and drive restored. Why is that?
Cause they were never trying to make her Eva, she was based on Gurren Lagann the whole time. Her jacket being made up of Simon’s color scheme inverted. She even LITERALLY wears it on her sleeve. Like they really wanted to make sure we got it this time.
Look at the mech when you put them side by side. But this isn’t even the kicker…
She’s doing the iconic Gainax pose at the end of the film. On top of her mech with something loose to epically flow in the wind. *chefs kiss* Yes she’s crossing her arms I went frame by frame.
The reason I like this is cause in mecha the protag always goes through depressing stuff. That’s what Eva is built around. So by taking her in that direction she’s now a love letter to genre, Eva being included in there rather than being the only thing referenced.
Also with this knowledge the Spot looking kinda similar all of a sudden…
Wait it’s all Gurren Lagann? Always has been. With that in mind, you know what that means with him right around the corner.
TL;DR: Peni was a reference to Gurren Lagann the whole time which is just a love letter to everything mecha.
THEY UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT SO HARD, WE JUST DIDN’T GET IT.

Honestly Armand get shit because he's constantly out of the loop, but his reactions are often pretty reasonable.
"I let my sis escape and do her thing because we were in time of peace, but now that our dad the king is missing, I want her to stay close for her safety." -> A reasonable reaction to one's parent disappearing.
"I understand you are an ally, Adamai, but you and your brothers are dragons and I don't think a royal court is the best place for you guys to live in. It's dangerous for you and for others." -> One of said dragons got kicked unconscious by a royal mount, so it's actually a fair point that it's a risky arrangement.
"We can't just hope a god will fall from the sky and solve our problems... we need a practical solution that WE can manage to handle, even if it's not perfect." -> In any other context (as in, any situation where your sister isn't hanging out with demi-gods and supernatural being) this would be the sign of a down-to-earth leader.
"Holy shit sister, when our father was sick you ditched us to go on another adventure, you don't give news for a while, and you weren't even there for our father's funeral AND I had to listen to all our people's say you were the better choice of a leader!" -> At this point, yeah, Amalia should apologize for ditching most stewardship responsibility on her bro

in light of israel's looming invasion on rafah, south africa implored the icj to call for the protection of palestinians with new preliminary orders. the icj denied this request, insisting that its january orders would be sufficient enough in ensuring the safety of people residing in rafah.
we have all seen how israel responded to the icj verdict earlier this month. they have all but intensified their attacks on palestinians, their favorite of whom seem to be children. this will end in a bloodbath. palestinians, already malnourished and living in literal tents, will be bombarded, they will be shot, they will be slaughtered. and when i say palestinians, a lot of them are actual toddlers. the videos coming out of this are proof enough.
at this point, it has been made amply clear that palestinians will never experience safety in their own homeland. a lot of the families in gaza are trying to raise funds to get out of it, because there's nowhere left to go.
there is nowhere left to go. if these people don't get the funds necessary to escape, they will die.
it's vital that you go to operation olive branch's spreadsheet, choose a family that resonates with you, and donate as much as you can to their gofundme. every last dollar counts. one dollar could be the difference between life and death for a family. please don't fall victim to the bystander effect. your contribution counts, however little it may be. and whether you're able to donate or not, spread this to as many people as you can. each second we stay silent is a second an entire family is brutally massacred.
