“I swear, people actually would and that’s the worst part.” Ches shook her head, rolling her eyes at the thought. Parents around here were pretty diverse, but she knew at least one family would do their best to sway the outcome in their favor. “Okay, I never said I was disappointed with it bein’ vanilla. Maybe I like it that way.” She didn’t. But Chesney Ragsdale wasn’t about to admit that out loud. “Besides, unless I’m shackin’ up with Levi Maddox, I don’t think I’ll ever achieve your level of greatness, Nis.” She understood where Nisa stood, but the redhead hadn’t held those feelings at any point in her life. She’d been dragged off to Atlanta as a kid and spent every single day waiting to come home to Madison. It got even worse after her mom’s passing, too, and Madison was probably where she’d stay forever. “I don’t know, I spent most of my teenage years fightin’ to get back.” 

“Only in Madison,” she joked, but really it probably wasn’t some exclusive to Madison trait. Just something that would happen and not surprise her about the small town they called home. “Ches if you like it that way then we need to get you with someone who shows you just how borin’ that is.” But Nisa was laughing, because she was joking and she knew Chesney would catch that. In truth, she didn’t care what way the red head liked it in bed, but Nisa was certainly the farthest from a lover of vanilla. “Excuse me,” she began, more laughter falling from her lips, “There are plenty of people just at his level, and don’t go tellin’ him anythin’ like that ‘cause he’s got a big enough ego as is.” It was no secret that Nisa was sleeping with Levi and she didn’t really care who knew that. “I bet, this was your home, and you were stuck in that big old city.” Nisa had hated city life.

Vick laughed a little and nodded in agreement, “Well that is very true, I just wonder what the punishment would be if they didn’t do the dare, because there is no way I would have dressed like that even if I was dared too.” She laughed a little looking over at the girl for a moment as she watched people walk by. 

“Maybe that’s when they streak.” Nisa joked, but in reality she would never turn down that dare. Wearing your clothes inside out? Hardly anything bad. Besides, the blonde was onto something there, the backlash for not doing the dare could be worlds worse than looking dumb for a few minutes.

She laughed a little shaking her head for a moment, “Are you actually kidding? Well I really hope it was a dare and they will never do it again because it really doesn’t suit them at all.” She sighed a little running a hand through her hair for a moment. 

“I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a popular dare. Think about it, compared to what they could be gettin’ up to, it’s really not much.” Better than silly stringing stores down town or climbing the water tower. Those were the sorts of things they got up to when she was a teenager in town.

“Sister, were you sleeping? On the couch?” Nimet asked as she walked towards Nisa, lifting her sister’s feet before sitting down and placing them on her lap. “I’m going out tonight, with the guys from the daycare, and I figured I need something nicer than my usual clothes.” She clicked her tongue. “Sorry I woke you, I really didn’t think you’d be taking a nap.” Nimet apologized as she patted Nisa’s legs. 

“Stoooooop,” she half whined, Nisa had been woken up late, or early, to help with a delivery because the mom was already crowning and wouldn’t make it to Jesup. She was exhausted. And slightly regretting that certification in obstetrics. “You know my wardrobe is all yours, if you bring it back.” Which sometimes didn’t happen, but Nisa still managed to get her stuff back somehow. “It’s alright, I’m just a little out of it after helpin’ Myra Jameson deliver her new baby boy last night.”

“We could open it up to the whole town, too. It’d get all kinds of attention, especially with the gossips around here.” Chesney laughed at Nisa’s statement. “I honestly don’t get too crazy, but it makes me want to stick to my vanilla sex life if it means never having to explain what happened to a stranger. Or worse, someone I know from Madison. Someone who knew my mother.” She shuddered at the thought. “Oh, I bet you’re right. There’s so much untapped potential just layin’ in wait here in good ol’ Madison, USA.” 

“Goodness, then just imagine which parents try to win by lurin’ their kids into poison ivy bushes.” She laughed though, because the image in her head was hilarious. Madison never ceased to amuse her. “Chesney! If you have a vanilla sex life I’ve got some more teaching for you.” Nisa snorted a bit, “Makes ya change your mind when you realize it, I remember bein’ a teen who couldn’t wait to move away.”

Matt was usually the one initiating the flirting but today he found himself on the other side of that and he laughed softly, looking up from her engine a moment. “You do need a spark plug changed but I’ll do that for free since you’re making me laugh.” He wasn’t the type of mechanic to see a pretty girl walk in and see dollar signs in his eyes at how easy it would be to rip her off. “But if you really want my number that can be arranged too.”

“Now, now, sir, I didn’t ask for free service.” She replied with a laugh, “Spark plug is doable, but if you come back tellin’ me I got all sorts of hoses loose we might have to talk.” Of course, she was still joking. Rusty’s had a long standing reputation of not hustling customers, she’d always had incredible service there. “Or you can skip that part and just take me out after your shift, your choice.” She half-teased.

If he was in his right mind, if Lyla wasn’t still so very much in control of his heart, he would probably have found it hard to keep the no strings attached relationship. She was gorgeous, funny, they got along all too well and she was fun, she made him have fun. It was partly why she had become a regular in his life, and bed, and he was a little selfish with consuming her time. Especially in the small three foot roadblock that had just appeared in his life, “What if I can’t behave?” he protested softly, his hand reaching out automatically to trail over her waist. The mention of the sitter though had him hesitate, the only reason she had one was down to Nick and Nisa reminding him that the child wasn’t exactly a pet, she couldn’t be left alone. “Midnight.” he replied, the babysitter a college girl who needed the money she’d been more than eager to get all the hours he could. 

Nisa didn’t often think too hard about her relationship with Levi. They had fun, and she knew his heart wasn’t available and to be frank, she wasn’t sure hers was either. Nisa hadn’t been burned or anything, she just never felt that overwhelming urge to lose herself to love. And she did love people, she loved Levi, but not like a woman loved a significant other. What they had was interesting, but she wasn’t rushing to change it either. “Hmm, might just have to dish out a few punishments later then.” She teased, leaning into his touch but all too eager to spend the night getting up to any amount of trouble and fun. “Maybe we’ll just have to sneak off into one of the side rooms here and have our fun before your curfew.” She meant it as a joke, in all reality Nisa knew how life changing it was to have his daughter suddenly in his life, but she wasn’t that sure how else to bring it up lightly.

Cassandra raised her brow with Nisa’s offer of having a night out. Being back in Madison meant reconnecting with people that she had left in the dust when she turned eighteen and headed out to Chicago. While Nisa was a few years younger than she was, it hadn’t stopped the two from being friends, especially because she worked with her brother. She wasn’t sure how the woman put up with Nicholas for eight hours a day, five days a week. “I’m up for either place, honestly.” Her shoulders lifted in a shrug. “Anything to wash off a long and uneventful day.”

Nisa was one of the first not to immediately judge someone for what they did, unless it directly hurt her. Cassandra and she hadn’t been that close when the other left, and now that she was back the pair were getting along just fine. “Hopped Fox it is then. Last time I went to the Booze Barn my ass was bruised for a week from fallin’ off that damn bull.”
