long time ago, when i didn't know anything about dragon age, i had in mind that idris should romance cass - and while i wouldn't go back to that stage, it's still an interesting au to think about. and by interesting i mean dark and completely toxic. the pure enemies to lovers without the friends stage. enemies with benefits. it would be a bloodbath, and having cass as the divine would make it even more political than in already was. sometimes i think i'm unfair to cass, but then i remember her political stances.

you’ve heard of arthur/josie. you’ve heard of arthur/cass. but are you ready for “arthur has to apply to divine victoria cassandra, his ex, for permission as a mage to marry josephine”

i love talking about the vague concept of rewriting inquisition in my image, but the truth is one of my first moves would be to basically cut the evanuris nonsense because i can’t live with it and i feel like that would go too far for most people before i even get to, like, the main game story

still figuring things out, but wanted to put the three of them here. why are all my canon worldstate pcs unfriendly, questioning and suspicious? we may never know. i have friendly, devout (dalish) and trusting characters, just not those three.
shartan is dating both zevran and anders, i don't care about canon. he's also an apostate. after the events of awakening he travelled to kirkwall with anders. hawke is pretty much canon, but she's dating both girls, also she used to be blue in act I. idris is barely even canon, he's half elven senior enchanter and already a necromancer, technically a despair abomination, he left hawke in the fade but they came back for her later, he exiled wardens just to trick corypheus and the well of sorrows doesn't even have the chance to happen in this story (but he wouldn't let morrigan drink it, bcos, you guessed it, he doesn't trust her). he got together with rion after the events of the game. also he's officially dead.

breaking news: local noob sucks at drawing digitally just as much as they sucked with traditional.

the kirkwall hightown chantry, the temple of sacred ashes... i hope we see yet again a chantry building being blown up in dreadwolf. please, it's almost a tradition now.

wait, dragon age inquisition players, I have a question!!
the stats I mean are character stats, not exactly gear.
I'd appreciate reblogs for a wider scope! ✨

The upper mobility and royalty probs wouldn’t even go to the big chantry except for high holidays and festivals. They’d probably have private chapels for themselves and their households like at highever. Hell, the hawke estate might have a chapel. If the chantry is anything like the historical Catholic Church, it’s where every noble was sending all the spares they couldn’t afford to marry off. If the chantry wants to maintain its political power by receiving the patronage and funding of the nobility, they need to maintain sufficient prestige which requires having loads of sufficiently prestigious offices, and the nobility would be quite willing to pay to have their daughter in charge of a nice chantry, even if it means building it themselves. What I’m saying is the chantry definitely has more mothers than it knows what to do with, and is probably constantly creating new parishes and being gifted lands on which to build monestaries by nobles who expect their daughters to be made revered mothers in return. Chantries everywhere
stamp of approval-ing this

i was going to say “when they go to the chantry on sundays” and then had to stop myself because even though it’s technically true i hate that thedas has sundays so much

the hightown chantry was probably sheltering orphans and refugees et cetera, and you can tell this because the moment your character arrives in kirkwall as a refugee, they get locked in the chantry prison on the orders of the chantry enforcers so that everyone poor can be forced out. this was subtle foreshadowing that the hightown chantry regularly shelters woebegone innocents. you can tell because the chantry is a place the player regularly goes to, where there are never any npcs who could be remotely described as that

one of my favourite takes about the kirkwall hightown chantry is when people act like because it’s the only chantry they actually put in the game, it’s the only chantry in kirkwall

My very sardonic Dragon Age: Dreadwolf BINGO board. (A few of these are lighthearted predictions, while most are concerns based on historical precedence.)
I will be playing along with this when the game is someday released.
