it's been a little crazy here on my end. life's been keeping so so busy that i just completely forgot about this story. i still really love it, it's just finding time with my schedule and the motivation has been kind of difficult. i am doing really well and i am happy right now but thank you so much for reaching out! it means the world to me!

Besides Rini what other HSMTMTS ships do you like?
i'm a big fan of the portwell ship as well! i think you can really tell from my works and such hahhaha but other than rini and portwell i'm not necessarily invested in other ships. obviously i adore seblos and i also do appreciate big red and ashlyn. but i haven't really considered or thought about other ships, much less writing for any other ones. i think the backstory of rini has such a special place in my heart hehe

this seemed like a lot of fun!! and honestly it looked like a good and interesting exercise
rules: list the first lines of the last ten (10) stories you published. Look to see any patterns you notice yourself, and see if anyone else notices any. Then tag some friends.

notes: this is going to be an interesting mix as i can’t recall what my last ten works are off the top of my head considering its been months in between each of them so we’re gonna see most of my fics that occurred during my bad writers block era. i obviously only write rini so all of these are going to be rini fics lol
patterns:
from what i know about myself, i find the first line of fics a little hard for me. there’s so much weight relying on the beginning of a story that i have a hard time committing to some at times.
typically, i get an idea and kinda just run a bunch of dialogue and kinda figure my way around the first few lines to see what works best. with some of my shorter and fics i do tend to open with a quote but sometimes i do kind of stray away from that and opt for a long winded type of prose. while there are other ones where i go straight into a descriptive beginning of what’s happening in that scene.
i think i find one shots easier to work with versus multis since multis feels like such a commitment when updating and such. i constantly change the way things work in my stories throughout the entirety of the process which is a big reason i favour one shots and which is probably why i have like a million of one shots. plus i love reading and writing one shots because i love having the full story already out there whether it’d be 1000 words to 50,000. i don’t know which i like best honestly, but this was kinda fun and like a little trip down memory lane. i forgot about some of these works...imagine if i did my first ten published fics instead, i think that’d be interesting but something i don’t want to visit either LOL
1. the great escape (current wip - 02.19.22) multi-chap; friends w/ benefits
Friday. Fucking finally. Ricky thinks to himself.
This week has been absolutely brutal. His schedule wasn’t any different than usual with classes, hitting the gym basically every day and hockey practice four to six days a week. It’s been the same schedule he’s had all year and the last three years since he started at Boston College. Maybe even before that, just not as intense. College hockey was a completely different ball game if he was being totally honest.

“Carlos, just switch with me!” Ricky begs, trailing his friend as they walked towards the mall.
The shorter boy shakes his head, rolling his eyes at the skater’s pleas. “That’s not how Secret Santa works. You got who you got, just get them something.” He mutters, prying the large door to the building open.
3. nothing to regret (08.22.21) song fic
It was funny how things can change in the blink of an eye. Two years ago, he couldn’t believe the girl he’s been pining over for years would actually say yes to being his girlfriend. A year ago, he never thought he’d insist on taking a break that led to a break up. And, ten months ago, he never would’ve guessed he’d confess his love to her for the first time after being in a musical - a musical that he was the lead in, and she’d miraculously take him back. Five months ago, he never would’ve imagined them standing in that very same room, moments away from letting her go again, one more time.
4. nothing personal (10.24.20 - 06.25.21) multi-chap; secret dating/celeb au
About five years ago, the pop-rock music industry was taken by storm when new band, Golden Monday, was discovered.

Hiking her large duffle bag higher up on her shoulder as she glances up at the tall building in front of her. Nini takes one breath in as she turns back around to wave at Miss Jenn thanking her for the ride – twice. And before she knew it she was making her way towards the glass doors of Ricky’s new apartment complex.
6. hear it in the silence (04.21.21) drabble
Silence filled the car and the only sounds that could be heard is the humming of the engine and the occasional honking from the traffic that surrounded them. The young woman that sat in the passenger seat was fiddling with her wedding band twisting it around her finger anxiously as she stared out the window. As the man next to her drummed his fingers against the steering wheel not having said a single word since the doctor told them the news.

8. out of sight, still on my mind (02.07.21) childhood friends to lovers (one of my favourite stories i’ve written to date)
Her hands laid in her lap as she scratched off the black nail polish that was starting to chip away, it was one of her bad habits that she couldn’t seem to shake. She figures it’s better than biting her nails, which was what she used to do when she was a kid and wasn’t allowed to wear nail polish. Keeping her eyes trained on the green blades of grass underneath her as she did everything she could to avoid the question that she couldn’t ignore forever.
9. he loves me...he loves me not... (02.03.21) drabble
“He loves me,” She breathes, her voice a little raspy and dry from crying earlier. A delicate daisy was held between two of her fingers as she leaned her back against the trunk of the large tree she was sitting under. She plucks another petal off of the beautiful flower, her brain muddled with thoughts. “He loves me not.” She mutters bitterly.
10. i think he knows (01.17.21) song fic; my t-swift rini challenge
Her hand was enclosed in his, trailing slightly behind as Nini tried to step on the back of his shoes to annoy him. Giggling at his grunts every time she managed to succeed, which caused him to stumble a couple of times. Ricky would pull on her hand a little rougher than he usually would warning her to stop. They both knew what the result would be, and maybe she was secretly hoping for it to happen because she thought it was hilarious.

notes: lowkey i’m just going to include things that are more or less self-contained works, so- that makes it a touch more complicated than just most recent, but yeah!
patterns:
honestly there’s two kinds of openers i use, and it seems from these more recent ones at least, i’m more likely to go with the more long winded, background driven kind than the cold open. only one of these actually starts with the cold open, and like- sometimes that’s the best way to start, but since almost all of these are one shots, it sort of makes sense i’m doing more exposition to start. just an interesting thing to consider for sure! also lowkey the variety ship-wise is fun, especially considering how many one shot requests i /have/ in my inbox on ao3 to write when i get the energy.

hi lovelies, it’s been a while since i’ve written anything lol but i just posted my newest multi-chapter hehe i’ve been in a writer’s slump the last almost year i would say and had a hard time getting back into it. this newest work has become my baby over the last year and i hope you love it as much as i do.
it’s based off The Score by Elle Kennedy, you don’t need to read the book to understand what’s going on but if you have read it, it’ll be a little familiar for you but i did put my own little twist on it which you will see as the story moves along.
anyway, if you could give this one some love it would mean the absolute world to me!! i don’t know when i’ll get around to posting chapter 2, but hopefully next weekend!!
