Trying something new today!! I have always loved minimal makeup but I’ve recently come to terms with the fact that I need a tiny bit more coverage to compensate for my skin and problem spots. So when @merit reached out, I was super pumped to try their line! I love makeup but I am not a makeup connoisseur by any means, nor am I particularly good at applying it. I also have combination skin, large pores, and an oily t-zone that hates me!! @merit is a clean makeup brand that was founded by Katherine Power and launched this January. I was instantly drawn to the minimal packaging and to-the-point products. I tried the complexion stick (my favorite), highlighter, mascara, brow pomade, flush balm cheek color, and blending brush. The complexion stick is now my go-to product. It smooths out my pores (which are annoyingly prevalent), isn’t cakey at all, doesn’t settle in my fine lines, and stays on my oily skin. I apply it under my eyes like concealer and on my face like a foundation. Then, I blend it out using a small foundation brush. I was able to find two shades that fit my winter complexion perfectly: Bisque and Linen. It has a similar consistency to other complexion sticks I’ve tried but isn’t waxy or dry. It’s buttery, blurring, and gives great coverage without being cakey. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. Can you tell? I loved the highlighter, mascara, and cheek color so much as well. All of these products are so good at what they do without being overly obvious, if that makes sense. They’re all perfect for that naturally pretty, low-maintenance look. My brows are pretty sparse but the brow pomade actually helped my brow hairs stand out and be a bit more prevalent! It’s definitely a part of my routine now! Just found my @cherinailproducts x @nailjob inks and was totally inspired by @xtaleigh to paint a marble set. I feel like I have little rocks on my nails! It’s been forever since I’ve done a marble look- especially with regular polishes. Nearly four months ago, a division of the Louisville Police Department performed an illegal, unannounced drug raid on her home. Not a single officer announced themselves before ramming down her door and firing 22 shots, shooting Breonna 8 times, killing her. Not only were the police at the WRONG HOUSE, but the man they were looking for had already been arrested earlier that day. My heart breaks for her family and loved ones and I hope justice is served.
