One More Thing
I might merge Crow into a multimuse account so I don’t have to juggle a bunch of different ones as I add more ocs onto here. If/when I do I’ll post the link here.

“Ah- ah’ve seen a lotta sorts, but nuh, didn’t t’ink ye were really a vampire. An..” Crow hesitated, not sure how to phrase this next part. “Suppose vampire stories don’t usually have ‘em savin’ people from buildin’s, nah.” He didn’t seem scary at all- not that Crow was the type to get scared by the unusual, at least. The unusual was quite normal to her.
Considering everything else she had seen, maybe it was a bit silly to be surprised vampires existed. And that they could be friendly.
nighttimetrinkets:
Crow continued to look at the man with a hint of wonderment. She glanced once more at her avian companion: surely enough, he was still calm.
“Ah- ah mean ah suppose- could stay for one night. But ah can be wivout- …did ye say livin’ guests?” She looked him over once more. “Are ye really-?” Her tone wasn’t scared- if anything she just sounded intrigued.
Nel laughed.
Tumblr media
“Did you think that this was some sort of costume? Actually?” he grabbed his own ears in emphasis. “Yes! I am a vampire! I only have been for the last three hundred years, hehe. Did you think I would be big and scary?”

“Me friend is the reason ah am here,” Crow explained, before hesitating. She didn’t like the idea of being fully unarmed in this strange place. But maybe she didn’t have to be.
Slowly and carefully, she began to go through her pockets. Gadgets of all sorts began to pile up in front of her, and just when it looked like the pile couldn’t get much larger, she had more pockets somewhere with even more gadgets, and then some after that. Apparently there were also just as many pockets on the inside of her jacket, which she went through just as carefully.
Then there were the pockets on her pants, and- finally- that seemed to be it. Emphasis on seemed- there were still the compartments in her prosthetic, but nobody needed to know about that. And nobody needed to know about the glove she had kept in one of her pockets- she needed that one to get home.
The last two things to be placed in the pile were her wings, and an odd looking dagger. She hesitated to place the dagger in the pile, but finally sighed and decided not to argue.
“A’ight. That’s everythin’,” she lied, hoping the woman was none the wiser. “Can we talk now?”
nighttimetrinkets:
Her bird friend ruffled his feathers and caw’d agressively as he was nearly thrown off Crow’s shoulder. Crow gently hushed him, stroking his feathers soothingly while struggling to keep pace with the guards.
Crow was already starting to question her decision as they approached the ominous fortress, and between the fierce hissing and the bone themed architecture, she was beginning to wish she had tried running. She didn’t feel much better as she came into view of the apparent ruler of the place. A woman who somehow, even amongst the fearsome creatures and ominous decor, managed to stand above the rest in sheer intimidation.
“Um… Aye, ma'am. Uh… heard ye been lookin’ for me?” She felt her avian companion tense up, practically shaking in his feathers.
Yeah, probably should have tried running.
Her fingers trailed over the braid of her long, coiled whip.
“Indeed. I expected you to give me more trouble, but if you continue to behave, this should go well for the both of us.” Gregoria uncrossed her legs. Her boots planted on the ground beneath her.
“You’re the first human I have seen come down here with a companion animal from the human world.” Her head declined.
Tumblr media
“Regardless–I cannot leave any room for suspicion. Empty your belongings.”

Crow knew something was wrong the moment the Others became still. The shadowy beings that very few could see usually moved about freely, seemingly unbothered by what regular people were doing. If they were disturbed by something, it meant either they were in danger or, more likely, someone they were connected to was.
Someone like her.
The young girl felt her shoulders tense as shouting could be heard from above her hideout, and she glanced warily at the entrance. Part of her wanted to just go back to her tinkering, to just hope that things would go back to normal soon. The Others would go back about their business, and she could go back to hers.
But things were never that simple.
Crow stood up, using her cane for support as she made her way to the stairs. However, before she took the first step, she glanced to the other side of the room, towards a pair of mechanical wings that rested against the distant wall.
A few moments later the girl stepped out of her hideout, wings on her back, and faced what was causing the Others to become stressed.
A group of very angry, very armed looking men stood at the entrance to the warehouse. A small boy, eyes brimming with tears, was being held in place by one of the men, large hand cuffing around a bunch of his raggedy shirt.
“Ah’m sorry-!” The boy cried out to Crow, “They made me tell!” He let out a shout of pain as the man tugged roughly at him.
Crow said nothing, but she wasn’t mad at the boy. No, she knew the risks in telling the younger street children where she lived. Wasn’t the first time this happened, and unfortunately probably wouldn’t be the last.
All of that could be taken care of later, but she needed to make sure the boy was safe.
One of the men began to say something, some amount of threats that Crow couldn’t be bothered to listen to in full. Instead, she raised her hands up in surrender.
The man in charge looked at her in surprise. “Y-yeah! Damn right you should surrender, stupid brat!” Crow, hands still in the air, took a careful step towards them. “No! You stay there, we’ll get you! I don’t want anymore of your stupid tricks!” Crow stepped back, and moved no more. “That’s right,” The man said, dragging the scared boy with him as the group moved forward- and suddenly found themselves being violently dragged up into the air by their ankles. As soon as their feet were off the ground, Crow opened her wings and flew blindingly fast towards the boy before he was dropped on his head by the man. She dove to the ground, just barely catching him in time. She hurriedly got to her feet and ran as fast as she could, wings wrapped around the both of them to block out the incoming bullets from the now even angrier men who hung helplessly in her warehouse.
When the both of them were far enough away that the others were no longer an immediate threat, Crow gently placed the crying boy down. “I-I’m sorry, Crow! They kept hurtin’ me, and-!” Before he could say another word, Crow shook her head.
“It’s okay. Ah can fix this. Jus’ head to Leo’s hideout. Ye know where that is, aye?” Crow’s voice was gentle, although clearly exhausted.
The boy sniffled, nodding, and was about to head that way when his eyes widened. “C-Crow look out-!” He pointed behind her, and Crow was just able to pull her wings up in front of her in time for the bullets to ricochet off.
Back up? Really? She didn’t usually have people who wanted her dead this badly.
“Run!” She shouted to the boy, who shook his head in response.
“B-but you-!”
“Ah said, run- ah got this, but ye need to get to Leo, aye!?” The boy looked at the group of incoming men, then back at Crow.
“O-okay- please be careful-!” The boy ran, and Crow made sure that no bullets strayed into his direction until he was safely gone.
But this was bad- there was a lot of them, and they kept shooting as they came closer. Crow ended up almost hunkering down behind her wings as all she could do was back up, trying to keep her balance as the bullets kept putting pressure on them. She needed to reach for one of her other gadgets, but the oncoming bullets made that more than a bit difficult, to say the least.

✧ OC Asks! ✧
I compiled a short list of some questions that I hadn’t seen yet to help you (and me) have some fun while developing OCs. Feel free to answer these yourself, or ask someone else!
1. How does your OC feel about their full name?
2. What do strangers notice about them first?
3. How does their social personality differ from how they act when they’re alone?
4. How do they act around a crush?
5. Do they have a “tell” for when they’re lying?
6. What do they smell like?
7. What is their hair texture like?
8. How much jewelry do they wear, and do they have a favorite or distinguishing piece?
9. Do they have a word or phrase that they tend to overuse?
10. What is a weird quality that they have (ie their hands are always cold, they’re always hungry, they snort when they laugh, etc)?
11. What color do they look strikingly good in?
12. How do they show affection to someone they love?
13. Do they make strong/frequent eye contact when they talk to someone?
14. What attributes do they have that are inherited from their parents or shared with their siblings/other relatives?
15. Are their greatest flaw and their greatest strength related and in what way? (ie very caring and helpful but a doormat, or very observant and shrewd but often paranoid)
16. How has their childhood affected the way they view an aspect of their life (people, education, society, themselves, etc)?
And that’s all! Remember to reblog with your answers, I’m genuinely curious to hear about other people’s characters/writing processes!

Crow was quiet for a moment, dragging her fingers through her hair. She'd never left the city before, but this client was apparently willing to pay extremely well. She might never get a chance like this ever again...
She folded her arms. "A'ight, ye got a deal, sir. But ah have people who need to know ah'm gonna be gone for a bit. But then ah can go wherever we gotta go."
nighttimetrinkets:
She flinched at his touch, but quickly regained her composure.
“But it’s in another city?” Crow had never left the city. Not farther than her old home just outside the limits, at least. She didn’t feel very keen on the idea. How would she get there? She had her wings, she supposed, but still.
“Yesss! And I have plansss for that too! I am nothing if not a generousss employer! You’ll be flying first class! With me! And you’ll be picked up in a very nondessscript car and dropped off not far from the tower! And we’ll ahve a guy waiting for you to show you the way! But it’s a few hoursss on the plane.”

“But… ah lied to ye. Ye saved me life and ah did nothin’ but lie to ye.” A pause. “Oh- uh, ah don’t got money, if that’s what ye want. Ah can offer me services, but ye don’t seem the sort to deal with thieves.”
Tumblr media
“You lied to stay safe. That isn’t evil. I do not need your money or anything–I totally offer it for free! If you would like. I would–It is up to you. The only thing I would ask of you is to tell me what groceries to buy, because I do not really get to feed living guests every day, ehehe.”

His fingers curled up, his thumb pressed to his lip.

“You…” Nel began, quietly, “You don’t have to stay there tonight. I want you to be safe…if you need somewhere warm to sleep. It feels wrong to let you go off on your own.”

Crow tensed as the man turned to her. His grin didn't exactly put her at ease; and there was no way she was turning on a client- she might not like the lady, but she wasn't going to betray her, either. Who knows what this person would do to her- he didn't exactly seem stable.
She kept her eyes locked with his as she suddenly pulled out two gadgets from her cape. They were in the shape of a flower, and she tossed them towards the man, snapping her fingers. The mechanical flowers bloomed in response, revealing stamen which began bellowing out smoke.
Crow didn't wait to see what he would do- she ran out of there as fast as her legs could carry her. Down the street, around the corner and hopefully far, far away from whatever that man was.
nighttimetrinkets:
Both Crow and the woman jumped, the former reaching into her cape for a weapon. Only she would freeze in place when she saw the colorful man walk out of the wall like a painting come to life. She glanced at the woman, who seemed equally shocked at the person in front of them.
So it wasn’t just her imagination.
Crow immediately stepped back as the man stepped forward, wanting to keep out of arms reach. She looked at the woman, expecting her to look at least half as freaked out as Crow felt. While at first she looked scared, that fear was soon joined by a look of annoyance.
Oh boy.
“No, I don’t think I will. This dress is mine now- if you have a problem with it, you should talk to the brat. She actually stole it and got it dirty!”
Crow’s eyes widened. “Wot? But ye-!” The woman didn’t stay to listen; she was already booking it back to her car.
“Dammit! Fucking–” Casca drew in a sharp breath, his face flushing all blue. His colorful eyes spun. He hissed, grinding his teeth–
At that, he turned on his heel to face Crow. Casca deflated, sinking low to meet her eye level. His eyes drooped and a big, slimy grin replaced his grimace. Both palms pressed together in front of him.
“Hey. Hey there, chickadee. I gotta crazy, real oddball kinda question. Do you have a lick of that poor lady’s information? Huh?”
Tumblr media
“Oh, don’t sweat it at all, little thing. I’m not mad at you. And, get this, if you help me find out who she is–you’re off scot-free.”

Crow paused for a moment. “…In the world? Um, this job is in this city, aye?” He couldn’t be asking her to go somewhere far away, that was crazy, but she also was fairly certain none of the buildings here were considered the tallest in the world. And she had never heard of an ‘Extensive Enterprises’ before.“
“Don’t worry, tiny human,” he said, patting her head, “It’sss an easssy building to find. But I’ll make sure you see a picture because it can be easily missed. If you’re looking up the whole time you’ll get hit by a car or sssomething. It’sss actually not all that far!”
