I have just made an important realization:

WHY HAVE I NEVER POSTED PAULINA ON HERE WHEN I LOVE HER AS MUCH AS I LOVE ALL THE FANDOMS THAT I AM CURRENTLY IN AT THE MOMENT?

Here's one of my favorite OCs that I have created in 2024 so far, none other than Paulina Von Talon herself. She's basically General Von Talon's adoptive daughter who he took in on a cold summer night in 1940 after his henchmen found her outside his bunker. (She was created in around January this year.) YES, I DID DRAW LOADS OF ARTWORK OF BABY PAULINA WITH VON TALON BECAUSE MY BRAIN THOUGHT THAT DOING SO WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA

I have loads of headcanons for Von Talon that I will shove into the Paulina fanfic that I am currently writing - not because he's my favorite character (that spot actually belongs to Cufflingk, one of his henchmen, surprisingly), but because. HE'S LITERALLY PAULINA'S FATHER. (as well as the fact that HE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL TO NOT BE A BORING VILLAIN BUT THEY RUINED IT!!!!!)

My Valiant (2005) obsession is coming back to me again, so expect content of her being uploaded on here from time to time because I'm too lazy to upload them on my main on Instagram. Also, Von Talon deserved MUCH better (AND I UNIRONICALLY LOVE HIM - well, his canon design is still kind of uncanny to me, so this actually applies to my version of Von Talon instead lmao)

GUESS WHO JUST RECENTLY GAINED BACK THEIR CLONE HIGH OBSESSION AGAIN!!!

Yes, I have returned back to the Clone High fandom! I am in the middle of bingewatching all of Season 3 (or Season 2 of the reboot), and I am enjoying most of it... well, besides some of the new ships and the questionable bits being mentioned over and over again (I'll get used to all of that, though).

Meanwhile, I'm drawing my other Clone High OCs (Cheung, Stel and Marthie) more often than Jim in an attempt to reintroduce y'all to their existence. I'll be including them in more screenshot edits for the time being, as I've been quite busy with other stuff and cannot produce proper artworks lately.

I discovered these unbelievable photographs and this fascinating story after my second archive visit. I was moved by this bird specimen. When I researched online I came across the work of James T. Tanner - an American ornithologist who was also moved by this illusive species. He was a doctoral candidate from Cornell University, and in 1937 he was sent to try and track down the Ivory-Billed Woodpeckers, hoping to find juveniles, in a Louisa forest called the Singer Tract, as there had been reports of the bird sighted here.

On his trip, he managed to find an Ivory-Bill’s nest, after watching two adults fly into a hole in the tree. After 16 days watching the nest, Tanner noted that the adults would generally forage for the juveniles for approximately 20 minutes at midday. As it had never been done before, Tanner decided to attach an identification band to the juveniles leg while the parents away from the nest.

To cut a long story short, he managed to do this, however during the process, the juvenile fell out of the nest, crash landing in a “tangle of vines”. Terrified of the consequence, Tanner clambered down the tree to retrieve the juvenile. He picked it up and miraculously it hadn’t been injured. It clambered all over him and actually seemed to be pretty happy. After taking these photographs, which are the only existing photographs of living Ivory-Billed nestlings, it was returned to the nest, with an I.D band.

Tanner took these photographs in 1938, however they were not found until 2009, by his widow in an envelope at home!

Since then, numerous sightings have been reported by experienced ornithologists in the Arkansas area, however it has still not been confirmed. So the question of whether this species is now extinct or not, is still unknown.

March 6 | Happy Birthday, James T. Tanner!

In all seriousness, James T. Tanner is one of my biggest inspirations in life. I admire his dedication in searching for the ivory-billed woodpecker and how he stood up for them when corporate greed threatened to destroy one of their last known habitats. Never actually read his book about the ivory-billed woodpecker, but I would love to do so if I can get my hands on a physical or online copy of it. It's a shame that it's so hard for me to find...

If you want to know more about James T. Tanner, I recommend reading the book "Ghost Birds" by Stephen Lyn Bales - way easier to obtain, a lot more information about Jim and his life. Had a blast reading it, very good book.

Thank you for existing, James T. Tanner. Happy birthday.
