Operation Splash Twitter
tweeting three times a day
one tweet will be themed by day- to show people what they are missing by not helping, show them all the bay has to offer
one tweet can be a video, quiz or other type of media - an interactive way to get involved with followers aside from retweets and favorites.
one tweet will be current events occurring with the environment, os headquarters, meetings, etc.- giving followers the information they want and need to help further the group.
Our goal is to have members get clear and concise information from the twitter of OS. The first few weeks we will be sending out all these different types of information and keep track of what gets more favorites retweets and replies. Once we are aware of what the followers want to see we will post accordingly to that. We will also get your followers up and help you get in contact with more environmental groups on twitter. Twitter will be linked on all other social media pages.

OS About Video
*Start with seeing people on the beach and throwing trash in the water*
voice: When people say oceanic pollution is this what you think about?
*Kids-Teens drinking throwing bottle in the bay*
voice: and probably this too right?
*show people leaving debris from a party on the beach and fade to black*
voice: or maybe even this
*fade up to the long island area someone walking through the street eating a bag of chips and throwing trash on the ground next to a garbage pail. Person shrugs it off and keeps walking away. Bag is blown by the wind to a sewage drain. (weather permitting) Or chip bag gets pushed by peoples feet and ends up in the sewer.*
voice: But do you think of the ocean when you do this?
*fade in of one person walking on the beach and picking trash out of the bay fade to Operation Splash operation base*
Voice: Operation Splash was founded with one goal in mind- to help stop waterfront pollution on Long Island.
*go from closeup of water to zooming out and seeing a boat on the bay with the operation splash logo*
SPLASH volunteers have removed over 1.5 million pounds of debris since 1990.
*Footage with volunteers cleaning up the bay and start to go inside splash head quarters*
This exclusively volunteer based organization was established 25 years ago in Freeport, LI.
*Continue filming in the first area of splash head quarters. The one with the boats ( not where we had our meeting)*
SPLASH volunteers patrol the South Shore, Long Island urban waters removing debris, monitoring and identifying pollutants as well as their sources.
*Go back to footage of the bay as we have people walking around, most likely a nice day, make it look like a vacation style spot to volunteer.*
With the leadership of talented and environmentally passionate marine tradespeople, educators and business owners, SPLASH has remained focused on its mission and produced extraordinary results.
*Video of founders leading a meeting or see if we could film them while they are at a school.*
Our mission is to spread empowerment in hope to inspire others to help our communities’ environment. All it takes is one small step, and together we can change the world.
*kind of a flash montage of video footage that we capture at the bay and stop at a picture of the operation splash main team. picture should be them in front of the boat with the logo clearly visible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4INXJ70DLyQ (like 1:38 on in this video) *

Day 12 The Big Reveal
The operation splash loved all of our posts. Although I have collectively decided not Tho use snapchat I will still help with Twitter. For the about video that goes on the website I want to whip people into shape without seeming mean or malicious. I want to help with the producing or maybe even be the lead producer. I also heave camera experience from Basic so I'm open to that especially on the yik yak project with Kevin. That should be a lot of fun and great publicity

Day 11 PPP Presentation
Another presentation has come and gone. I didn't really get to speak... At all to defend my idea and I definitely regret it. I could have added input, while the speech was going on especially since it was my base idea. PPP seemed enthused but you can never really tell what a client is thinking unless they tell you. Other projects seemed amazing and had great ideas on the table.

Day 11 presentation #1 Operation Splash
The day before a presentation can be one of the most nerve wracking experiences ever. Especially a presentation that has not been practiced in front of a group. After the social media group all contributed ideas we presented them in front of operation splash we all divided into respective groups and explained our branches of social media. As for the rest of the groups their projects were amazing and showed a great deal of dedicated time and workmanship. Operation splash seemed to like all of the presentations.

Day 10 (tuesday) Mock Presentation
This was one of the most nerve wracking experiences of my life and it made me discover that my group and I have two different ideas of the video we are trying to produce. While the video I want to make is a bit easier to orchestrate the other idea floating around is a bit harder to play off and is a bit less entertaining in my opinion. I realize I have to make my input and speak up quickly before it is too late and my idea falls through. the presentation made this clear to me.

Day 9 Back to the Yak
Buzz Feed Video Ideas
Well this group is certainly alot different than I pictured but slowly and surely the buzz feed video is coming together. We have figured out the opening of the video and are working on the direction in which it is going. I am trying to push the video in a neutral direction so that people can not only see both sides of yik yak but are able to decide what they think about it and think for themselves causing them to ask other peoples opinions. At the same time we are trying not to make it too complicated otherwise it could lose the viewers completely. A model was brought in in order for us to stay focused and so far it is going pretty well. Hopefully we will be able to incorporate most of the ideas thrown around in the video. We are also working on getting original music for the video and actors as well. I may be able to be an actor in the video since I have previous acing experience but that can be discussed at a later date.
