Cyberbullying and the influence of social networks
Cyberbullying is bullying using digital technology. It can take place on social media, messaging platforms, gaming platforms and mobile phones. It is repetitive behavior, intended to frighten, anger, or shame the targeted people. Examples include:
Spreading lies about or posting embarrassing photos of someone on social media
Sending hurtful messages or threats via messaging platforms that impersonate someone and send malicious messages to others on their behalf.
Face-to-face and cyberbullying can often go hand in hand. But cyberbullying leaves a digital footprint – a record that can prove useful and provide evidence that helps prevent abuse
Tumblr media
The development of the Internet age has inadvertently facilitated virtual bullying and spread fearlessly. Facebook and Twitter are two popular social networks used by young people and are also the "scenes" of many other cases of virtual bullying. Just 1 post of jealousy, "netizens" are free to share to curse, just 1 status slanders others, criticizes other people for being fat, teases him for being gay, this woman les... will be able to go viral. scary with hundreds of likes and shares. People who click like, comment, or share those posts won't know how the victim feels. Very few people report the incident because they think they can't fight the whole world. Gradually, they get into their shell and avoid society, become depressed, harm themselves in many ways such as slit legs, cut hands... or even commit suicide. October 2006 , 13-year-old girl Megan Meier hanged herself in her bedroom in Dardenne Prairie, Missouri (USA). The reason for this action, is that she is cyberbully due to her overweight. The bad guy approached her and directly harassed her with private messages and posts on Myspace about her weight and it was too much for her to bear and led to an unfortunate accident.
Tumblr media
There are a number of social media applications used by adolescents and teens, despite many of them having a minimum age requirement. New apps are developed and added all the time, so stay informed by researching online for the newest and most popular apps your child may have downloaded, check their phone regularly, or require a password so they cannot add any apps you don’t know about or approve of to their phones. Here are a few of the most common ones in use today. While bullying can happen on any platform,
Discord:
(2015) Users can text, private message, share images, photos, videos, and teleconference with other users with and without video. Discord is unique in that users can message/chat in small groups or broadcast directly to large groups of 5000 or more other users at a time. Minimum age: 13.
Facebook:
(2004) Users can create a profile, create posts and polls, take, edit, and share images either publicly on their “wall” or privately in messages. Facebook also has a “story” feature, which deletes after 24 hours. Facebook has a multitude of groups with varying degrees of privacy, a marketplace for sales items, and community events for all ages are also posted. Requires an email address and birthdate to sign up. Minimum age: 13.
Instagram:
(2010) Users can take, edit, and share photographs and short videos on their public feed or through private messaging. They can make public or private comments to others, and share to their “story”, which disappears after 24 hours. This app interacts with Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, and Flickr. Requires an
Snapchat:
(2011) Users can post videos and photos to their “wall”, which lasts about 24 hours, as well as private messages which disappear a few seconds after they are opened. Accounts can be made public or private. Snapchat also includes a map feature where the user’s location is displayed to friends or the public, and accounts can be found via a person’s phone number. Minimum age: 13.
TikTok:
(2014) Originally Musical.ly, changed in 2018. Allows users to create, share, and discover mainly music videos, but content often extends beyond music videos. Users can make private or public accounts, as well as post individual videos privately or publicly, and via private message. Users can view, comment, like, and share other videos on the platform, as well as create a “duet” or “reaction” video with others via a split screen. Minimum age: 13.
WhatsApp:
(2009) Another app which allows users to text, chat, send videos and voice messages with both individuals and groups of up to 256 users at once. Users can chat with friends, but group chats may include users which are not in each user’s friend list. Profile settings allow for private use, where either only “contacts” can see information about a user, or “nobody” can. Minimum age: 16
Youtube:
(2005) Users can watch or share videos posted by TV/movie companies, other businesses, or the general public. Accounts can be public or private, and age limit restrictions can be added to limit content for younger users, although this is no guarantee of safety. Requires an email address and date of birth to join. Minimum age: 13 with “parental” permission.
Tumblr media
Until now there has not been any specific or clear measure. Most advice says that, for minors, parental attention and control is extremely important in helping children avoid cyber-violence. Parents need to pay more attention to their children, guide them to use the network properly, or take measures to block some unhealthy websites and forums. On the other hand, spending time caring and sharing with children is a way for parents to quickly detect problems and promptly solve them.

Media influence and the rise of “Slow” Fashion
“Fast” fashion has run its empire since the second half of the twentieth century. Brands build "fast" fashion models by synthesizing and copying ideas from design studios to manufacturing facilities with low-cost labor. Within 2 weeks, the latest products hit store shelves and fill banners on e-commerce sites. Quick to update, quick to design, quick to produce, quick to consume and quick to throw away, that's the face of the "instant" fashion lifestyle that the world has been frantically pursuing for decades. past century.
However, when the epidemic crisis hit, everyone's fashion sense returned to basic clothes and no need to follow fashion. Therefore, “slow” fashion is part of a higher concept of sustainable fashion. The purpose of “slow” fashion is to limit product excess, preserve local crafts and the environment. In addition, a luxury brand used to have to carry out 6 major collections a year including Spring - Summer, Pre-Fall, Autumn - Winter, Resort and two seasons for men, making creative directors tired. . In the midst of the Covid-19 epidemic, a series of designers such as Donatella Versace, Rick Owens all expressed their wish for the fashion industry to slow down. So “slow fashion” seems to be the new keyword this year. In addition to the impact of the pandemic, social networks are also a factor that has a great impact on consumers' shopping habits.
Tumblr media
Slow fashion is an alternative, characterized by care and composure, as opposed to the hasty, damaging rush of fast fashion. Products are created with every element of the supply chain in mind, with the goal of respecting people, the environment and animals. This also means more time is spent on the design process, ensuring that each product that leaves the factory is of high quality, long-lasting and "cyclical".
This trend is chosen by many fashion houses, especially brands with young designers, offering many creative solutions. In Singapore - a country that is moving towards sustainability in many areas - "slow" fashion is being adopted by many brands.
Tumblr media
As a favorite brand in the lion island nation, Ginlee Studio chose to apply the GOOD model - "Get Order On Demand". This program encourages customers to think more carefully when making shopping choices, by booking in advance and waiting 3-5 weeks to receive the finished product and receive a "reward" of 15% discount.
The brand also offers the MAKE initiative, which allows customers to pre-select styles and colors for accessories, then watch first-hand the process of folding and steaming products at a store located in Great World City.
Co-founder Gin Lee said that both GOOD and MAKE not only benefit customers, but these innovative solutions also allow the brand to produce according to demand, thereby minimizing product waste.
Tumblr media
It can be said that, from small changes in many aspects, "slower" and more sustainable fashion will have the opportunity to emerge and develop strongly, contributing to bringing more choices for knowledgeable and interested users to the future.

Livestream and great influence on the community
Livestream is actually an acronym for livestreaming, which means live broadcasting. This is a form of real-time audio and video transmission of events and activities for audiences who are not present at the venue.
Tumblr media
The difference of livestream compared to TV channels and movies is that everything is broadcast to viewers without pre-cutting or editing. Current popular forms of livestream can be mentioned as live broadcasting on television, broadcasting game progress and livestreaming on social networking platforms.
In June 1993, a musical group called Severe Tire Damage, consisting of many scientists and computer engineers from the California hardware and information technology company Xerox PARC, tested the technologies. new technology in her performance and succeeded in broadcasting both the visuals and the sound of the show as far as Australia. After that, this group continued to broadcast and turned this into a forerunner of later livestreams.
The rapid development of livestream today has no small contribution of YouTube video sharing social network. In 2008, YouTube held its first livestream event called YouTube Live, broadcasting live performances by popular artists and content creators like Katy Perry, Smosh, MythBusters, Bo. Burnham from San Francisco to Tokyo.
Tumblr media
Despite bringing many successes, YouTube has not yet realized its potential and is slow to popularize livestream for users into Twitch hands. In 2011, Twich.tv (formerly Justin.tv) launched an online livestreaming platform dedicated to gaming, although the idea didn't seem very profitable at the time, just within Two years on, Twitch has over 45 million monthly viewers.
Tumblr media
Twitch's success is a perfect testament to the effectiveness of livestreaming, helping to push other platforms to quickly develop this feature. In 2013, YouTube adjusted its policy and allowed any user to livestream their content. Although a bit slow, in 2016, Facebook and Instagram both launched their livestreaming platforms and ushered in the development of today's social media livestreaming.
Tumblr media
As of 2020, livestreaming has seen significant growth: 99% growth between April 2019 and April 2020 and is projected to have a total revenue of over $180 billion by 2027.
With many new livestream platforms appearing to give content creators more options to broadcast their content, Twitch retains its position as the most popular livestreaming platform with more than 9.3 billion hours watched and 9.36 million streamers as of early 2021.
Even so, Facebook is no less competitive when the number of active users in the fourth quarter of 2020 is 2.5 billion, making it the largest livestreaming platform in the world. But in terms of popularity, YouTube Live is rated by 70% of users that they prioritize choosing this platform to watch livestream.
The popularity of livestreaming platforms has helped shape the concept of streamer, creating a new type of entertainment for viewers, especially young users who tend to spend a lot of time on the Internet. The large number of followers and huge income make livestreaming not only a hobby but also a real job. Some prominent streamer names must be mentioned in Vietnam such as: Độ Mixi, ViusS, Pewpew, Cris Devil Gamer, Misthy,...
Tumblr media
It can be seen that livestream has grown extremely strongly and has become the most effective tool for self-development as well as community building today. In the future with the development of technology, perhaps livestream will be brought to a new level with more interesting interactions for both users and streamers.

Filter: Good or bad?
Filter is one of the most used features on online photo sharing tools such as Instagram, Snapchat... The filter's diverse effect store allows users to "transform" in a blink of an eye with just a few simple operation.
From mid-2019 until now, the AR filter feature has also begun to bloom, which is considered an upgraded version from the normal filter. AR filters are effects designed to add a layer to real-life images. With AR filter, users can not only improve their beauty but also design their own games and share them with friends.
Tumblr media
During the Covid-19 epidemic season, AR filter has become a useful tool of the advertising industry. Dior entered the game by experimenting with virtual makeup software. Their representative affirmed that "this is the future of cosmetics". And Snapchat offers filters to recommend products of L'Oréal, EasyJet or Nike. Now, users can try on "virtual outfits" from top brands to get the perfect picture without having to go out, and manufacturers can also collect customer information effectively.
However, recently, Spark AR - the company that owns the photo filters released on the Instagram application announced that the platform will remove "all effects related to plastic surgery" from the Gallery. Effects as well as defer approval of any new effects that may be of the type. This does not mean that you will have to say goodbye forever to the lovely puppy, flower, and butterfly effects you are using. Spark AR only targets filters with functions that transform your face according to a formula of pointed chin, bridge of the nose and high cheekbones (Plastica) or even like Fix Me that indicates areas you need to be corrected.
This isn't the first time Instagram has done so in an attempt to demonstrate its commitment to the mental health of its users. Previously, this social network also restricted advertising posts of weight loss products or plastic surgery procedures. Because in 2017 there was research showing that a large number of posts about these procedures are not made by professionals. Therefore, without measures to control the quality of news sources, Instagram will indirectly "abet" the spread of false information affecting users' health.
A report in the medical journal JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery claims that images using filters have "blurred the line between reality and fantasy", which can cause Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). ). This is a mental illness that makes sufferers obsess about their body's defects, prompting them to do everything to overcome it, whether it's fasting, weight pressure or cutlery intervention. Therefore, Instagram also has good reason to be concerned about this fact. And from the user's perspective, we also have a reason to rethink the interaction behavior on the network so far.

Social networks and virtual "Beauty Standards"
Beauty standards vary from place to place. While large eyes and high nose are considered "ideal beauty" in some countries, the opposite trait is revered in others. Beauty standards vary from person to person. For example, Indians are obsessed with skin lightening, while British, American and Spanish speaking countries are very interested in the healthy tan trend.
But in general, in the 21st century, women are often attracted to beauty trends promoted by social media stars - according to Insider.
Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner are living proofs of the hourglass-shaped female standard that is causing fever - big breasts and buttocks, super small waist, sexy plump lips.
Tumblr media
Although they are not the creators of the trend, they are the ones who started it. They know how to take advantage of their Instagram accounts with hundreds of millions of followers as a tool to amplify their influence, thereby identifying their own beauty standards.
It is not difficult to see the image of Kim Kardashian or Kylie Jenner in the way of wearing tight, open-breasted clothes of many modern ladies. Even celebrities like Megan Fox are also commented on as a copy of ex-wife Kanye West.
However, the explosion of online trends has created the so-called "virtual beauty standard". Experts say that women tend to put blind faith in photoshopped images, or beautify despite understanding that a shape like Kardashian or Jenner will not be suitable for them.
Tumblr media
Research by Hollywood Insider notes that just 30 minutes of viewing an ad can change the way a young woman perceives her body. Around 5,000 beauty ads are shown every day around the world, and many of them are repeated so often that women are easily impressed and obsessed.
From being obsessed with celebrities, women have the intention to seek plastic surgery.
In its 2018 report, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons recorded 17.7 million cases of plastic surgery, the number increasing year on year. Breast augmentation and rhinoplasty continue to be the top choices, averaging 300,000 per year.
Looking at the statistics for 2021, the survey results show that tummy tuck surgery (22%) and liposuction (17%) are two methods that a lot of people perform.
Anthony Youn - a cosmetic doctor working in the state of Michigan - told the Daily Beast: "Certainly Kim Kardashian has a strong appeal to young people - who are looking to create a change in appearance similar to women. This famous woman. They wanted Kim's look - high cheekbones, arched eyebrows, latticework, sunken cheeks, pointed chin, and angular face with full lips and a straight nose."
Love your body The natural beauty cultists have not stopped spreading the positive message. They use social media as a tool to combat blind beauty standards on social media.
Tumblr media
Instagram account @Celebface posts photos of celebrities before and after editing software. Their purpose is to expose the virtual value that the stars are trying to conceal.
Everyone is beautiful in their own sense. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. If we can learn to see ourselves as beautiful, beautiful people, the world will be much better

Hashtags and political influence
As our dependence on the internet grows, social media becomes an important presence in our lives. More than one billion people use YouTube, WeChat, Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit on a monthly basis. Hundreds of millions log onto Snapchat, Twitter, and Weibo each month. And 13 million monthly users visit Depop; as a group they transmit 85 million monthly messages and follows. For reference: To become president of the United States, accounting for a 50 to 60% voter turnout, around 60 to 65 million people need to vote for you.  We’re living in the era of the first influencer president, who can mobilize a country with a single tweet. The dangerous takeaway is that to be influential you need only speak the loudest. But if the decade of influence has taught us netizens anything, it’s that just as quickly as you can go viral can you be #canceled.
Tumblr media
The story of the black man George Floyd was choked to death by white policemen in the US. Since then, the anti-racism wave has been blown strongly around the world, and football is no exception to this movement. In most tournaments around the world, especially in Europe, before serving, the players often kneel in memory of Floyd and condemn the act of racism. This ritual appears so much that it is considered an indispensable part before every match.
Tumblr media
Not only that, the hashtag Black Lives Matter also became famous and became a global message. Recently, the Organizing Committee of the English Premier League has announced that it will replace the names of the players on the jerseys with the message "Black Lives Matter" in support of the ongoing anti-stigmatization and discrimination movement all over the world.
Tumblr media
Manchester United have pledged to donate to anti-racism organisation Kick it Out if fans choose to get Black Lives Matter printed on the back of their shirts.  The club are offering the service for fans to have the same words on the back of their shirts for £10, and have committed to donating all proceeds from any shirt printing to Kick it Out.
All the players from the 20 clubs put out the message that 'We will work together to eliminate racial discrimination, as well as bring about a fair and respectful society for all, regardless of gender. tell me what color or religion

Reality TV: How far is “Reality”?
Tumblr media
As a general definition, reality television is a type of television program that focuses on the presentation of situations that occur without acting scripts with content that contains factual material, not fiction, neutral characters. The focus is on ordinary people instead of professional actors in order to attract emotion or laughter. Today, the two main segments of reality television are grand prize contests and comedic sitcoms in series format. In the usual format, the audience can intervene in the evaluation of contestants (for competitions) and content (for films).
Born in 1948, reality TV has really exploded since the early 2000s. However, documentaries and news stories are not usually classified as reality television.
Tumblr media
In Vietnam, only in the last few years has reality TV really taken the throne with countless gameshows, games, and reality shows from many production stations in many different fields. There are programs such as: Vietnam Idol, The Voice, The Voice Kids, Do Re Mi, Familiar Faces, Vietnam's Next Top Model, Amazing Race, Universal Dance, The Face Vietnam... Most of the shows. These reality TV shows all attract a fairly large audience, from which the advertising ratings of brands and brands, increase advertising revenue for manufacturers and broadcasters, and at the same time contribute to the brand's reputation. The age of artists is more widely covered.
In any case, it is hard to deny that reality TV has been a spiritual food for a large number of viewers every weekend and now any day of the week, with many different areas of life. such as music, modeling, food, adventure. Since then, contributing to bringing television closer to many different audiences, opening more opportunities for other professions to appear and develop such as fans, show cheerleaders, renters, and patriots hand hire, catering services, costume rental.
Tumblr media
It can be seen that, when gameshows in a given format become saturated, causing boredom for radio viewers, reality TV shows are like a lifeline in contributing to the spiritual party of the audience. The audience is getting richer and more attractive.
In addition to those undeniable strengths, there are a number of Vietnamese reality TV shows that have revealed their shortcomings, and that leaves undeserved minus points in the eyes of the audience. Sometimes, it also creates a stir in public opinion for a long time and makes people doubt the authenticity of the show: whether what the audience is watching is real or just staged. of the organizers to create a scandal with the ultimate aim of enlisting the attention of society - a guise to increase ratings.
Real or fake, it's in the hands of the show's producers, but they also don't forget that the audience is very delicate, scandal is a double-edged sword, if abused, it will not only fail to achieve the desire to increase the rating but also turned away from the audience and the show will be killed prematurely.
I think, producers of reality TV shows should return these programs to their names, their 'reality' nature. It's important to reflect the truth, respect the audience, and the audience will surely recognize and support it in the long run.

How does Tumblr function as a digital community?
How does Tumblr function as a digital community?
Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter are increasingly part of the lives of people in the United States. (Kruse, LM Norris, DR & Flinchum, JR 2018).
The Internet, particularly social media platforms such as Tumblr, has created online virtual spaces that allow users to communicate with individuals from all over the world, allowing them to build digital communities. Virtual communities can be characterized by “lack of physical proximity… based on shared interests rather than shared location” (Siapera 2012, p. 194).
What is Tumblr?
Tumblr is a blogging platform and social networking platform that allows users to publish "tumblelogs," or short blog articles. Tumblr's main distinction is its free nature and the freedom of its users to modify its site. This is an anomaly, since most other social networks have uniform profile pages with little design options.
How is Tumblr different from other social media networks?
Simply put, Tumblr has similarities to Twitter, Instagram as well as many other traditional blogging websites. Users subscribe to followers they are interested in, and content produced or shared by their followers will automatically go to the user's home page. Similar to other websites' timelines or newsfeeds, Tumblr's "Dashboard" Dashboard serves as a feed of news and content coming from other users you follow. Located right at the main interface, this is where you can comfortably interact with the displayed content such as "comment" comments, share "reblog" posts. In addition, you can also directly share multimedia content such as articles, photos, videos, gifs right at the Dashboard page with very simple operations.
The key distinction between Tumblr and Twitter is that Tumblr is heavily image-focused, but Twitter has no maximum word restriction on messages. Tumblr already has a tag and hashtag system in place to help you find what you're looking for. Tumblr's information isn't restricted to the blogs you follow; it comes from a large platform. Tumblr users may publish movies, audio files, and a variety of other sorts of content in addition to photographs.
It can be seen that Tumblr is not only an ordinary web blog, but it is also one of the leading blogs, surpassing Facebook or Instagram and having a certain position for users.
