BUY JASON A MEAL

Okay, so I wasn’t going to do this because I hate asking for help. It honestly makes me feel like shit, because I know everyone’s got problems and mine are kind of minor. But, it’s gotten to the point where it’s too much now. It looks like I’m literally not going to be able to eat for the next month. Which is already a problem because I’m only eating one meal a day as it is.

I have negative nine dollars in my account, and I don’t get paid again until March 28th. Because I only get paid once a month, because it’s my Canada Pension. And, I can’t work until May because I’m in school. And, if I’m not in school, I can’t get my Canada Pension and therefore I can’t pay rent.

So, I’m essentially asking for help. Anything is a lot. I just need a little to get by for the next month. Whether it’s just $5 to grab something to eat in the mornings, or a little more for actual groceries. Anything is appreciated, thank you.

simon hadn’t planned on leaving the boathouse, as he wasn’t really in the mood to see all the happy couples. it wasn’t like simon hated valentine’s day, he’d always loved the holiday. it’s just that he’d been confused lately. for so many years he’d thought he’d been in love with clary, but he hadn’t. he thought maybe his girl would be izzy or maia, but he was starting to think maybe his girl wouldn’t be... well a girl. he’d been spending a lot of time with a certain blond and was finding he didn’t mind it one bit. but, simon had never been interested in men, and he had a feeling that wasn’t the way the shadowhunter swung. he decided he would go out, he’d go drink as much as he could, maybe if he was lucky he’d get tipsy. although, upon opening the door he noticed a bouquet of roses.

“ who- ” he reached down and picked them up. no note. “ what kind of idiot doesn’t leave a note? ” he muttered. simon bit his lip, no way they were from- a small smile spread across his face. “ happy valentine’s day, herondale, ” he whispered before he pulled the door of the boathouse closed yet again.

               “  that doesn’t mean it’s a wise decision, simon. to be my friend. ”                  simon has grown on him but he always ends up hurting the people close to him. he’s already seen simon dead. he even buried his body. he saw simon nearly bleeding out because of valentine. he doesn’t want to see him hurt like this ever again. and that’s why hanging out with jace is a bad idea. 

“ maybe, ” simon agrees with a shrug. “ but it’s my decision, ” he said simply. it hadn’t been his decision to become a vampire, or a daylighter, it hadn’t been his decision to lose his family, or his education, or his career. but, this? it was his. and he was happy to have jace, even.

      “  it’s not me who you should be asking but the downworlders who are mourning. vampires from your clan and werewolves from luke’s pack. ”        simon needs to realize that he’s part of the downworld now. and being friends with the shadowhunter who slaughtered dozens of them won’t help him survive. 

he knew jace must be feeling awful about that, but he didn’t know and simon refused to fault him for that. it was like when dumbledore risked harry’s life to get the fake locket, he didn’t know it was fake. “ i don’t have a clan, ” simon reminded. “ i may live in new york, that doesn’t mean i’m part of the new york clan. and, wasn’t it you who just called us friends? ”

     after the second comment jace sighed.    “  what do you want simon ? ”      he sounds tired. and he really is exhausted. both mentally and physically. everyone had left him alone, besides alec occasionally dropping a comment about how he’s hurting. so why can’t simon just drop it and enjoy his drink ? 

“ i asked how you were doing, ” simon shrugged. “ you know, some people actually want honest answers, ” he was teasing, but only a bit. if he was too serious jace might flee, but if he was too mocking he might flee as well.

"your pretty face looks prettier than expected." jace shrugged before he looked at him, "why? did you like it?"

“ i’ll have you know I am always the most attractive person in any given room, ” simon insisted, making a point to not  mention jace. the blond was cocky enough without his help. “ but, yeah... i did. ”

focusin on the melody, the keys, the harmonies, jace kept the tempo never playing it louder than simon’s voice or guitar, having it more in the background, lowring its volume when he noticed it didn’t make the other shine too much. he wet his lips looking at him when simon was not doing it and switching fast in case he was caught. the lyrics were beautiful, however annoying he found them, somehow, for a reason he couldn’t think of.

this was nice. simon really missed playing with someone else. he knew having the band in his condition wasn’t really an option, but that didn’t mean he didn’t miss the days of playing among other guys in his garage. he closed his eyes as they got to the bridge, picturing his mother and sister, his heart aching just a bit. as they neared the end of the song his voice quieted and slowed with the music, ending on a few odd cords, letting his string hand rest against the guitar before smiling a soft smile at the other man.

he nodded softly at simon’s words.    “  it’s not worth that much. ”    he mutters under his breath hoping that simon doesn’t hear him. his shoulders shrug, a forced smirk appearing on his lips.    “  i’m fine.”    he’s said this lie so many times whether to himself or to others. but he’s not fine. he’s been hurting ever since he returned from ship. but he’s trying his best ever since. 

simon’s vampire hearing picked it up, but he didn’t mention it. he knew how men like jace hid themselves away, and if he wanted to avoid that aggressive appreciation wasn’t the way to go. “ oh good, ” he nodded at the answer. “ it almost sounded believable too, ” he added casually.
