Shane stays with him whenever he does anything like astral projecting in case he needs help waking up and getting out of it. If him being there to help makes his little buddy feel safer than that's just what has to be done.

Psychic Ryan got his ability falling into the bricks as a kid. He was horrified when he realized he could see literal dead people. He's gotten use to it and really grown into it over the years. It's rare when people genuinely have this ability and aren't just bullshitters. He wants to put his gift to good use and decided to make it a point to practice everyday. p1.

It's been five years since they made their own company. Ryan reflects on how drastically he's learned and improved. He went from seeing dead people to being able to astral project and open his third eye to other realms. He knows Shane doesn't believe him but it really touches a soft spot that he decided to stay with him for this journey instead of just calling him crazy and leaving after those 3 episodes of unsolved. Ryan almost cries when Shane asks if he can get him his own protection bracelet. He knows that Shane doesn't believe and he sees it as more of a friendship bracelet. It still means so much to him knowing that Shane isn't embarrassed to be caught wearing something like that as a skeptic.
