Caleb being so into time and then falling for the time guy™, yes, but also. Essek’s journey later on being all about changing, to be better, to grow a conscience, and alongside falling for the literal transmutation wizard, aka change guy (™)
Oooh. People have GOTTA stop putting popular actual play DMs on a fucked up mile high pedestal. Yes I think Matt and Aabria and Brennan etc are all wonderful DMs with various impressive skillsets and fun personalities. And I do think Aabria specifically has gotten a lot of undue backlash and harassment for being a very prominent woman of color in these spaces, and I believe some of the mythologizing comes from a very rightful pushback against that. That being said. All of these people are real people who make mistakes, and treating any of them as some sort of god like creature of infinite skill and coolness who can do no wrong, both as people and DMs, is not only weird and dehumanizing, but will probably end up worse in the long run than if you just treated them like normal people. That type of mythologizing will often lead to worse harassment when they do something a mythologizing fan doesn’t like, because it will make a mistake or just something that particular person dislikes (both normal parts of being human) feel like some insane betrayal to that fan. You can appreciate these people without this level of pedestaling. Also you don’t need to compare your DMing style to theirs constantly, you can take inspiration without doing that and I promise you that you’ll feel better after. I still think all 3 are super cool. Go with love and peace my children.
I might've added the BG3 Art Book to my dnd assets stash
It' 100% does not have things like the 5e players' handbook + 5e’s character sheet, several gm guides, critical role's explorer's guide to wildmount, baldur's gate and waterdeep city encounters, 101 potions and their effects, volo's guide to monsters, both of xanathar's guides, a bunch of other encounters, one shots, and class builds
In no way are there any pdf’s relating to any wizard who may or may not be residing on any coast
(Edit that I’ve moved the folder to the new link above! So if you catch a different version of this post that link won’t work anymore!)
i forgot laura’s pregnancy announcement, marisha sneezing so hard she cracked a rib, them being named The Mighty Nein, them getting their first magic item info card of the campaign, the first mention of The Gentleman, caleb’s “take them out take them out” backstory tease, the first appearance of the Bad Luck Bandits, them pretending to have “extreme syphilis,” them finding out jester's mom's whole deal, “the Ruby of the Sea is the best lay ever,” and the debut of Pumat(s) Sol all happened in the same episode
Baba Yaga, Arthur Aguefort, Tectonia Karkovnya and Plug Strutt all occupy a specific genre of character and I’m not quite sure what the Venn diagram looks like but it’s fun to think about
haven't watched CR since the M9 reunion. I feel so weirdly disconnected from this massive part of myself. probably gonna binge as much as I can in the next week-ish since I have a dental surgery on Monday and have a couple days off after. prepare for me to react to every Bell's Hells plot point for the last like six months.
btw don't go to 5e.tools for free access to basically every official DND 5e resource including books, spells, races, stat generators and homebrew guides, because that's illegal and such a widespread and creative game should not be open access for everyone because that would be bad. just letting you know not to go to that website and do that
re this post I'm guessing there are big differences between rats and mice in terms of how social they are? 😂
ah yeah it's not exactly a difference in how social they are, but rather a complete lifestyle difference!
see, rats are VERY social animals that like to live in huge groups and will naturally get depressed if they're forced to be on their own.
mice, on the other hand, are so territorial that the males will just straight-up hunt each other, and the loser gets violently disembowelled and left for the birds.
