After easily clearing Swarm Disaster V with just these two, I'm glad to say that they work really well together. They are in tune. They finish each other's sandwiches. As if they were made for each other (probably because they were literally made for each other. as video game characters).

was going through kaveh's voice lines (yes i sadly don't have him yet) and holy shit did his birthday voice line make me freeze. the motif of home and family seem so integral to kaveh's character in so many ways. i instantly wondered why we didn't seem to get a mention of his own family over the contents of his birthday letter or on any of the other little excerpts we get with the official illustrations. but then i remembered:

of course kaveh's thinking about his family, or maybe he doesn't even need to be, alhaitham is his family. alhaitham is his home. the distinction between house and home is so vital here, he makes it clear over exactly what a home means to him, we already knew this but i'm still not over it, home being the family which resides in one. kaveh has truly found home. (not at my account though ahaha.)

The fact that kaveh and alhaitham's relationship has grown since the parade of providence is genuinely beautiful. They went from not being able to stand being in the same room together, to spending nights alone drinking coffee (why are they drinking coffee at night), eating snacks and sharing wine together while they unwind. They work together so well gods just seeing their collateral thought processes makes you realise how smart those two really are all over again. Kaveh went from talking about how he was moving out endlessly to comfortably calling their house a home. They go home together after parties, they're studying together, their only argument isn't laced with any spite, but pure cheek from alhaitham's side. It's genuinely so fucking cathartic and i'm so amazed at how far theyve come. rethesisification arc is real (aka marriage)

it's so sweet how highly they think of each other :') like oh they might not be able to clearly express it but it is SO OBVIOUS that they care for and respect each other. even if you interpret their relationship platonically there is no denying that they genuinely value the each other. i think i'm gonna be sick
