What happened to dream in the personal shopper au? I was looking through the tag but couldn't find it

oh! yeah, it was probably on my now deleted blog, sadly.

the basic rundown is that dream's family is rich and owns a lot of land. dream himself actually owns a chunk of land given to him by his father (who is a human version of dreamXD in this, named Xavier) and this land is... it's not super valuable overall but it does kind of sit in the middle of an area that's important. it would take awhile to explain the whole thing but basically it's zoned to allow commercial stuff and it's a county that allows gambling and it could connect land that quackity wants to build a casino on to the major center.

so quackity and sam (who is helping to fund the venture) want dream to sell. dream does not want to sell because he has plans for the land. (other people also have a use for it as well those two are not the only characters who are pissed dream won't sell OR allow a roadway to be built)

those two, with some help, break into dream's home. they try to force him to sell the land. they kill his cat. they beat him severely over the course of a few days because at this point dream is a bit of a loner because the whole thing has.... caused divides. he doesn't really have anyone and they know this. it's stubbornness that makes him refuse, really. (he regrets it later but can't admit it.) he comes out of this with a lot of scars, including a fairly bad facial scar. he also loses his leg because it was broken with a compound fracture and over the course of those couple days, there was a ton of nerve damage.

his family basically refuses to press charges and dream himself doesn't want to either so while it gets reported on, nothing happens.

after, he moves to a new home with a lot security and never leaves. he is not doing great, honestly.

He’s part creeper because Sam looked after him for a week, right? That makes the prison that much worse for me like DAMN

Puffy is cdreams mom- not by birth though, and at this point she already has her son foolish. She found Dream deep in a swampy forest that was pulsing with magic. Then, he was just a little blob (the one we love) she takes him in unsure of what to do- but keeps him fed and alive. As days pass, he shifts to become more human looking- and because puffys a hybrid of a sheep, he takes on her features, shifting without meaning to. It’s like making an impression on a baby where they copy your mannerisms but instead it’s looks!

But of course, with puffy being an active pirate, she leaves town for weeks or months at a time. And the first time she left for a voyage with Dream around, it was around a month. She left him with awesam

Dream, still developing like a human baby, shifts to look like sam, who’s part creeper. He becomes green, gains paws, claws, and a longer more cat like tail. He keeps the horns and ears, but they’ve straightened out slightly. He still has curlier sheep’s wool hair and tail.

When puffy gets back, of course she’s confused like ?? Wtf this is my baby ?? What happened ?

And I have another hc on top of that that cschlatt is related to puffy in some way, like her brother, and Sam desperately tried to get him too look after Dream a ltitle so he would at least keep most of his sheepy features, but schlatt is schlatt

AND over time, unable to shift as much as he did before as a baby, just picks up on subtleties of his friends. He used to have puffys white hair, but gains a light brown color from sap and George, and his straight horns take from sapnap

I’ve seen a lot of “c!Dream builds up a resistance to healing potions in Pandora’s Vault” stuff around - and that’s really good! - but think about other side effects of potions. The biochemical ones and the psychological ones that can grow when you associate (and your body associates) a particular potion with a particular set of circumstances.

Did you know that in addition to medicines whose sole purpose is to alleviate the physical symptoms of these disorders, there are also no small number of medical drugs that can cause, as a side effect, symptoms of anxiety or depression? Not just recreational ones, but medical ones.

Think about c!Dream, after prison. His body is screaming for healing potions, it’s addicted, they’re not as effective as they used to be but still - he’s dependent (and he hates it) … 

But. 

But when he drinks one down, the relief that comes not only with the lack of pain but the emotional numbness, the emptiness, the life-can-pass-me-by-and-I’ll-just-float-along-bobbing-in-the-waves… That, in itself, is addictive. 

To fall in love with one’s own sorrow - the sanctuary and safety of it. To be frightened of the warmth and of feeling because the coldness no longer feels cold, the numbness no longer feels numb, and if anything disturbed the still lake of his heart then he might not survive the thaw…

In a post-prison healing fic like that, c!Dream would have to really want to feel again, to accept that if he wants to be happy and love once more then he’s going to have to open himself to the anger and sorrow as well, because otherwise he can easily - easily - keep choosing not to feel. Neither love nor hurt, happiness nor pain. 

And when you’ve been as hurt as c!Dream - physically, emotionally, mentally - who wouldn’t choose to not feel the pain?

Have you ever thought about how Dream copes with the issue of hygiene in prison and subsequently from prison? Think about him sweating profusely because of the lava that covers the cell, the heat is infernal to sickening points, his body can barely bear it, he sweats too much and dehydrates easily, he feels sticky and extremely dirty.

He also (as far as I know) does not have the ability to brush his teeth, although I think that would not affect much considering that he has almost no food so he cannot get his teeth dirty. How's hos hair? Sloppy due to the inability to bathe, full of dandruff and greasy, it is so uncomfortable.

And let's not talk about how his body will feel, dirty and uncomfortable, the itching is unbearable and the open wounds, many of them must have become infected.

And then when he return to all this care, you think about feeling strange the sensation of a toothbrush, to the point that it is uncomfortable and hurts, or how when he trying to comb his hair after months large layers of hair fall to the floor, or how when washing his hair traces of dried blood stain the water (and also think about the emotional implications, the poor thing feels so dirty and uncomfortable)

Can't escape from memories

thinking about c!dream earlier on in the server just makes me sad man. like, c!dream has never been a perfect character. he's always been flawed, always been a bit of an asshole, always had control issues. but also he knew that. he tried to work on that. he and tommy were friends, despite being flawed people with their own issues that would bump into conflicts because of the ways that they differed. c!dream tried, god, he tried; he wasn't even on the server, when the drug van happened, and walked into a place with someone who was practically a stranger to him building a wall and calling for war and having turned half the people dream knew against him, apparently, for no reason that he could've known at the time, and he had looked straight at tommy and tubbo and asked if that was what they really wanted when wilbur told them that there was no such thing as dual citizenship. he tells tommy when he has to sell a disc for spirit's leather even though tommy had surrendered the discs to him at the end of the revolution because he knows it'll matter to him. he and tommy truce, multiple times, and c!dream gets tangled into conflicts that literally don't involve him repeatedly and gets targeted Because He's Dream repeatedly and he plays along with that trivia contest and he gives gifts to fundy and tommy after terrorizing them a little for fun and he plays along with the dreamon thing and he keeps getting pulled into fights that weren't his but tries to make them a little more fair when they get him involved. he fucks around with tommy and they have fun, they're friends, and when he and wilbur look like they're in danger dream is one of the first to find them and lend them real, practical, valuable aid. he calls himself "Big D" in that book and he tells the man that wrote him as a tyrant that he doesn't want to be a villain in the story anymore. he asks tommy if he's okay, and watches that kid's back when he walks alone and unarmed into manberg, and fights with him at the battle of the lake and all of that is thrown back in his face as being a lie. half the intial community structures that exist were built by him; the community house, the nether portal and hub, the prime path. during a time where every other piece of leverage got burned or killed (rip the casualties of the pet war), dream was kind of known for being one that could be fairly traded with, that would minimize permanent damage. the kills in the final control room were originally to strip lmanburg of their gear, which he had kept in a chest so it could be returned to them after the war.

like no c!dream isn't perfect at the beginning of the server. yes he's kind of a jerk sometimes, kind of an asshole sometimes, kind of neurotic most of the time. but god dammit like c!dream does try to mitigate the worst of his control issues, when they flare up early on; the initial disc war ends with tommy getting his discs back as well as a stack of diamonds, in exchange for a netherite chestplate. he's a flawed character and he's still someone pretty friendly on the whole to most of the server, he's also kind of just known for being a little weird. he gives gifts randomly. he fixed creeper holes, and houses, and went along with bits. like whatever im a c!drolo c!dream woobifier and i admit it lol but for as much evil as he ends up doing, pretty damn consistently early on, he's . friendly? kind? funny? helpful? their neighbor. their friend. c!dream isn't just some stranger that flew off the handle; he's someone they knew and lived with who had his actions taken in bad faith because the goddamn story said so and kept fucking trying anyway until he believed the lie too. like he was just a guy!! a guy they knew and lived with!!! like my god

(I've finally done it! This is the c!rivals fic I've been working on for months! It's my take on their time together during the prison arc, so expect the usual prison arc themes. The good(?) and the bad. This one has taken me a While, so I hope you enjoy it like I did!)

Technoblade’s arrival was bad. It was really, really bad. Somehow, in all Dream’s life, he didn't think he had ever been quite this fucked. He refused to look at him. He had his head between his knees, crouched tightly in his usual back corner. He didn't know how long he had been sitting like this. But he couldn't look up now, because then he would see Techno, and that would make it real. And it couldn’t be real. It couldn’t. His hands fisted in his hair.

Transcript Masterpost p. 1: Exile Arc

I originally planned to do exile arc through to c!Tommy’s revival all in one setting, but since I broke my elbow; that would be done very far into the future.

So, I decided to post the first part: Exile Arc.

In the beginning, I just wanted to transcribe the most relevant scenes with c!Tommy and c!Dream, and then later (first actual exile stream) I decided to transcribe entire VODs to be able to bring as many forgotten scenes and lines to light.

When my arm is healed, I’ll be going back and transcribing the entire pre-exile vods and updating this post as well, don’t you worry.

My hope is this will be able to help make it easier to include the proper quotes and timestamps in analysis posts, to minimise hearsay and spreading quotes people are unable to find the context of.

I’ll be linking to a Google docs for each vod as well as one big Google folder that will eventually be updated to include transcripts from Bedrock Bros arc and onwards.
