My approach to crust and stench-core is quite an obsessive one with a big dose of criticism and pickiness.  

So discovering Terminal Sound Nuisance zine was a real delight! Dissecting each release reviewed to the last bit, and covering it all with a really solid knowledge of the matters discussed and presented... ever-present huge dose of humor and what i appreciate the most really critical and selective approach while choosing the records to be reviewed. I feel free to say;  if the record is reviewed by Terminal Sound Nuisance it means its a fucking good record!  

Most of the time long reviews mean a booooring waste of time,   but with Terminal Sound Nuisance that is definitely not the case, as each read, no matter how long it is it's always a pleasurable one...

Okay, so the new year is here and people are already purging their resolutions by doing the opposite of what they said they would, but I never do. I stick to it. What did I say was coming? Reviews. So here's another. We had a nice dose of traditional, solid black metal last time, so today how about some GD traditional Spanish death crust from CRUZ?

God, Spain is getting SO good anymore. You've got one of my favorite bands, Instinto (who I just remembered I still need to review, sorry guys), then FOSCOR, and if you ever looked, I did a mega special rundown on a ton of Spanish punk awhile back on the main site, and I suggest you check it out. Well here's another one for the "why the Spanish underground is sehr gut" folder. Cruz only had one demo to their name in 2015 before releasing this full-length just last year, "Culto Abismal." I thought I had my fill of classique after the last one, but hey, let's continue eh? Sometimes you don't need to do anything new for any year, just keep it the same.

"Culto Abismal" is thus the same kind of filth I enjoy. Blackened and grimey, it's that perfect balance between corrosion and conformity, but sounds much better than that silly word play I just pulled out. Also, I don't like that "band" anyway. These guys, however, slam, every song slams. Every moment is a teeth-clenching, glass-eating, gutter-bathing wonderland. We only have this one full-length to judge them on currently, besides the demo, which I listened to and found much more "Spanish" than this. Not that that's an issue, and you'll find two of the tracks redone for this one. Either way, Cruz's drive runs heavily on slicing riffs, crust beats, and classic BM tremolo action mixed in. As such, it should be stated, it's very straightforward. You know exactly what they want to deliver, and they do it. Much like heroin you'll likely get addicted to it, but even heroin is hard to do wrong for the sake of addiction. If you've taken the needle, you know what's coming next, much like putting this one through the speakers. Beyond that, you won't find anything of note, but for something like this that doesn't matter at all. Yet again Sentient Ruin Laboratories proves he has the ultimate ear for the underground. I don't think I've ever given any of his releases anything lower than a 4.2/5. This one was released with To The Death Records and Neanderthal-stench, with a splendid cover by the great César Valladares Illustration. Fill your crust need, start off the New Year the same as the last.

And the moment to announce the last band confirmed for NoSanctuary#3 has come! All of you who thought there should be some more good Death-Metal added to lineup are surely gonna be pleased. So the lineup is completed and STASIS from Italy is out last band to be announced! Death-Metal as Hell musically, Crust-Punk as Fuck by attitude. Rather new band but consisted of veterans playing in other killer bands like Haemophagus, Gravesite, Assumption, Repulsione, Cancer Spreading, Tumor Necrosis Factor, Ex Saturnine…

Well, at lest 95% of the people on this festival have been influenced, inspired and still enjoy listening those classic and iconic crust bands from the 80ties and the 90ties, bands like Nausea, Amebix, Misery, State of Fear, Extinction of Mankind… well, on NoSanctuary#3 you'll be able to see MASAKRIST, almost unknown band from Croatia, but I'm free to say this band can be easily listed next to this aforementioned iconic bends. The music, the lyrics, the feeling, the attitude, the power, honest and from the heart, no pose, no bullshit, CRUST AS FUCK!
