Bad quality, but this double-colored rose is post-worthy. The grasshopper nymph on top of it is a non-payed actor.
(also, if anyone reads my captions, would you give me some advices on how can I improve my blog? What would you like to see? I'm open to suggestions)

Taraxacum seeds
Dandelion clock, also called blowball. The blowball part is similar to the Italian name, which is "soffione", which basically recalls the verb "soffiare" (aka "to blow").
The name of the flower also recalls the Italian version! In fact, "Dandelion" comes from the French name "Dan de lion", which means lion's tooth: the Italian name is "dente di leone", and it has the same exact meaning.

Today's pic deserves a caption. I fell in love with this heart shaped frozen leaf the moment I saw it.
Kinda metaphorical too lol

I'm back with these pretty flowers. I don't know their name, I should ask dad, but let's just keep it a mystery.
They're so simple yet so cute <3

This cutie right here is an Aglais io, more commonly known as Peacock Butterfly. In Italian is called Vanessa io, with the Vanessa part being a popular italian name. For the io part, it takes after the Greek mythology, referring to Io, the daughter of Inachus.
Fun fact: one of the defensive mechanism this butterfly uses are actually the decorations of her wings, which look like eyes and scare the predatores away. The other two mechanisms are crypsis and a hiss the butterfly makes when feeling threatened.

From now on, I won't be captioning much, just to explain the picture or give fun facts.
So, this is a Hummingbird Hawk-moth (in Italian, my native language, it's called "Sfinge del Galio", which roughly translate to "Sphinx of Galio").
Can be quite scary if you don't know it's a moth, but highly fascinating

Brief presentation: my dad enjoys showing me the pics he takes.
I asked him if I could share them, he wanted me to take credits for them lol
So here they are!
I'm still trying to figure out how to make the blog pretty, so cope with me while it's still basic.
Enjoy

ps: dad's an amateur, he does this for fun and with no professional equipment, no one try to bash him >:(
