While I was sitting in class in college, I drew this funny and amazing animal :3
In appearance and habits, the genet resembles a hybrid of a ferret and a cat. But it is neither one nor the other! Genet belongs to a separate family of viverridae.
The body structure of the animal is very slender and has a very long tail. The genet's muzzle is small and elongated, with large ears located on the top of its head.
Since the genet is a predator, it has a set of sharp teeth and claws. The claws, like those of cats, are retracted into the pad. There are five toes on the animal's paws, this applies to both the hind and forelimbs.
The pupils of the eyes, like those of cats, narrow and form slits.
The fur is soft, the color of the animals depends on their subspecies.
Genetta is native to the northern coast of Africa, but can now be found in southern Europe.
