I do still make new things. Started this little12x12, today.

I started this one back in September, and finally finished it! Come Back - 24x30 inch oil on canvas - January 2024

I’ve been going back into this one that I started a year ago. It had issues, and I’ve had a lot of time to think about how to fix them. Now, I am.

I thought this painting was done in the spring. It wasn’t. I had painted the sky with other, less saturated colors, for some reason. It’s better, like this.

I fixed the clouds, added a few highlights in other places. Maybe it’s done? Gimme a week or so to be sure. There are multiple layers that dried differently, so I really need to oil it out to be sure I got everything right.

Got those highlights in on the other side, tonight. It’s getting closer.

I’ve been sick for a few days (not Covid) and am still feeling run down… but I was able to paint a little. It came out better than I thought it would. (Have to get the highlights on those rocks on the left, tomorrow.)

Rain Will Come - oil on panel - 24x18 inches - 2021-2023 This painting was originally done back in the summer of ’21. I was never quite satisfied with how it turned out, so I fixed a few things in October of this year. Some of those fixes involved glazing over the rubble with a transparent layer of paint that took forever to dry. I was finally able to get a photo of it this weekend. I feel like it's a much more coherent image, now. I hope you enjoy it.

Time sure flies, when you’re painting thousands of little dots. (It really does, though.)

Just 3.5 hours of hangin’ with my #1 round brush.

I’ve reached the “tying up loose ends” part of this painting … adding details and fixing bits that didn’t look right. Still a lot more to be done.
