10/10 after a bottle of wine just kill me now
Hamilton is a musical that delights in—and is largely about—the power of language. But it also understands that, if delivered with enough attitude, a lot can be conveyed with even just a single, somewhat nonsensical monosyllable. (Something that all great rappers understand very well.)
So we made this quiz: Can you identify each Hamilton character and song from just one yo?
yo… how’d you do?

Yes, I believe that is Lin-Manuel Miranda rapping Alexander Hamilton at a White House ‘Poetry Jam’ back in 2009… and Mr. Jon Stewart is totally mocking him for it !
I think our master satirist owes someone an apology… ^^

Women know about blood. We know about discharge. We know about babies, and many of us also love them, their little feet and hands and eyelashes. And, yes, we know that those bitty features develop while the fetus is inside us. We also know the physical, economic, and emotional costs of raising those children outside our wombs.

Tired.
Today I am tired.
Today I re-read Michael Eisner’s idiotic comments about how it’s impossible to find women in Hollywood who are both funny AND beautiful. I read comments from people who thought women were whining about Eisner’s comments.
Today I learned that the USA Women’s Soccer Team Cup will get $2 million for winning the World Cup. The men’s winning team (Germany in 2014) gets $35 million. They also make less than the men’s American team, who have never won a World Cup. This, despite the massive success TV ratings success of the women’s tournament.
Today I read about how women aren’t supposed to say “just,” just like we aren’t supposed to say “sorry.” I am tired of my language being policed, of being told what I can and can’t say, how my word choices hold me back rather than the patriarchal structure of our world. I am tired of being told by companies and advertising and media that I should feel bad about my body, and then told I should feel bad for feeling bad. It is an endless cycle of shaming us, and then shaming us some more.
Today I am tired of people believing a rapist, and not the 40+ women who spoke out about his years of assault. I am tired of people only believing rape occurred when the rapist admits to it.
Today I am tired of female celebrities being asked if they are a feminist, and yet no male celebrities are ever asked the same thing.
Someone ask Michael Eisner if he is a feminist. I dare you.
These stories, I read them every day. Today is just another day. Today I am tired, and this is why.

Being a woman is kind of like being a cyclist in a city where all the cars represent men. You’re supposed to be able to share the road equally with cars, but that’s not how it works. The roads are built for cars and you spend a great deal of physical and mental energy being defensive and trying not to get hurt. Some of the cars WANT you to get hurt. They think you don’t have any place on the road at all. And if you do get hurt by a car, everyone makes excuses that it’s your fault.
