First back-to-back runs in a little while. A 5k to see how hard I could push and it turned out a lot better than expected. Still haven’t cracked an 8-min mile, but ever so close. Something to shoot for in the next few runs🤞🏾
Sunday Runday after a busy Mother’s Day. A cool four miles just before sunset to end the week. I felt a little off to start, but got into a nice rhythm mid-run with a little kick in the final mile. Looking at the last 4-miler I ran before the the 2-week hiatus, I didn’t regressed. I’ll take that win!
First run in over 2 weeks, but the wait felt more like two months. I had to take a break to allow recovery from some knee soreness and a bit of the crud. It served me well as I felt refreshed. There was more in the tank, but the constant back and forth due to part of the trail being flooded was a drag. Made it to 5k and called it a day. I’ll be sure to go for a little more this weekend.
Four miles on a Monday. My body must’ve known it was Monday because I felt terrible at the beginning of this one. Going into mile 3, a complete 180. Almost got an 8-minute mile out of the deal. Love strong finishes, and I’ll take this one!
A little rain with today’s 10k. I’m still kinda figuring out how to run these again, but I think I was a little too relaxed at the beginning. At this point, covering the distance will suffice. Feeling stronger each run, so I think it’s time to increase the frequency.
Had to fit this 5k into a slither of time I had free this evening. I think this mile 1 has been the fastest start I’ve had since I’d started running again, but on the flip side, I never really found a rhythm til mile 3. I felt pretty strong at the finish and felt I could’ve sustained that pace for another mile if not for the time crunch. Oh well🤷🏾♂️
Casual stroll through uptown today. Haven’t ran there in a while, so I was surprised to see part of the greenway was still closed.
The weather was perfect. A nice make up for Thursday’s weather. The run was pretty smooth as well (mile 2 is abnormal due to a long light at an intersection🤷🏾♂️). Think it’s time to up the mileage!
And stuck around for over half my run. Forecast said 0% until 9pm. Til this day, I don’t understand why I trust’em. It look to have caught quite a few people off guard though.
Went out for four miles and wanted to keep the pace around 8:30, but running waterlogged for 2.5 miles made that a little difficult. After the first mile in it, I settled into a decent groove. Overall, I felt great with the effort.
A 5k to kick my day into gear. Picked up the pace for this one and aimed to get faster throughout. It actually turned out ok. Wanted a sub-8 min mile, but🤷🏾♂️ Progress is progress.
Decided to go off the beaten path for part of this 5-miler and that little quarter-mile incline on the 4th mile almost took me out. I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was, but was able to maintain. Not a bad effort, I suppose😏
Set out to run another 5 miles today, but around mile 3, I was holding pace around 9 mins and still felt strong, so I decided to extend it out to 10k to see if I could maintain. It went pretty smooth. Great day to go out and get after it!
A nice, cooling drizzle for Tuesday’s miles. My pace is starting to pick up and those post-run cool downs are getting that glorious feel again and I’m here for it!
First run since Tuesday, so I stretched it out another mile to make up for lost time. Got a little rain, a little sun, and just under 70 degrees with this one. Felt phenomenal! Until next time….
