Taken about a month on and off to get all three done, though now I know what I'm doing, so hopefully in future it'll take less time... "Ishtar" and "Noel" are nicknamed the Twins, because they're similar in design, although Ishtar was Liz's first gun. Named for the Mesopotamian goddess of love and war, the gun was originally a gift from Liz's driver, Noah. As their relationship evolved, he left her a little "Easter egg" on a part of the gun (last pic). Noel literally fell into Liz's possession after she got herself into a fight with a client. He got a little too friendly and she used his own gun to shoot him. It was the first time she killed a person up close - usually she's more of a sniper. Joey was just a name she liked, and it seemed to fit the shotgun. Where's the lie, though?

This has been my project for the past couple weeks. Between getting the individual paints and actually getting to the finished product, it's taken two weeks on and off. The amount of actual time spent on it, though, would be closer to 36 hours. I added a coat of varnish to get that shine and also to protect the paint job from any elemental damage. With all of the COVID-19 news and panic going on, the U.S. Government has been sneakily trying to pass the so called EARN IT Bill which would remove end-to-end encryption on messages and calls, and allow a scanning software to read all of them. Websites that don’t comply will lose protections.

So in Minnesota there’s this cultural taboo about taking the last piece. If there’s a group and everyone orders pizza, typically one slice will not be eaten. At the office if someone brings donuts, the last donut will be left alone. Possibly cut in half. Then that half cut in half, but always leaving at least a little on the plate. The reason is it’s considered impolite because someone else might want it. To take the last piece is a desperate thing to do. There’s even an expression: “I wasn’t raised by wolves.” Anyway, here’s the best local facebook post going around right now.

See, things that literally nobody wants to do could be dished out as punishment. I know farmers who get up at 2am to birth a calf because they feel accomplishment and a sense of fulfillment by doing their work - if farmers were in it for the money, I guarantee you most of them would have quit two years into the role.

There are people who enjoy making food, but the ingredients cost is the reason they ask you to pay. Give them the ingredients for free and ask that they provide their art for free, and they will.

Not everybody is motivated by money. Getting paid for what you love just makes it easier to pursue that as a business venture rather than as a mere hobby - and if nobody needed money to support their hobby, then they'll have more time to perfect that craft, and be more happy to provide free product or service.

True, there'd be some selfish wankers. That's how socialism can become communism - but to assume that people ONLY work for money, and that money is the sole purpose of our existence, is just stupid.
