Daughters and Sons

Ansary and Dalima has 3 daughters: Nadja, born on 2003, Nadine, born on 2004, Nasida, born on 2010 and 2 sons: Hezam, born on 2001, Nadjeer, born on 2007.

The couple’s priority was to sustain the needs of the children especially their education. Ansary always tell them to always study hard to achieve their ambition. The couple also didn’t want their children to spoil and buy anything they want because they don’t like wasting money. He also tell the children all the time to pray on time because he believed it’s more important to strengthen the faith in God than anything else.

The Cebuano expression word “kuan” is used in hesitant speech, or to express uncertainty; um, umm, uh. I searched some example sentences on the internet to give you more ideas about it which are “Wala ba mo mahibalo nga si Pulano maghimog kuan? ”, “Kuan man gud, usa ko ka Mormon, ug dili mi moinom og kape, mao nga murag wala sad ko maanad sa lami.”, and “Ang bishopric mipili ni Sister Kuan nga mahimong organista, ug dili gani siya maayo kaayong mopatugtog.” Consequently, these are some of the examples.

What did you just said?!” Faith said in a loud voice, “I said you are stupid and don’t you dare shout at me.” Lawrenz replied and walks out. Faith was so annoyed by the random guy she just bumps. “Okay, inhale and exhale Faith, relax and calm, just forget that smart-alecky guy.” Faith said to herself and decided to go to her classroom.

As Faith entered the classroom, the whole class suddenly went silent. Faith was shocked as she saw the random guy she bumps awhile ago. “Okay class we have a transferee and you newbie stand here in front and introduce yourself.”

“Hi guys! I’m Faith Gabrielle Hamilton, nice to meet ya’ll and I hope we will get along well.” Said in a jolly tone. “Okay class starting now Lawrenz Eastdale will be your classmate.” The teacher announced and the girls starts to shriek.

“Hey Faith! here! sit here beside me!” Dhenys shouted to catch Faith’s attention. “Did you know that hot guy?” Dhenys pointing her index finger at Lawrenz, “THAT ANNOYING SMART-ALECKY GUY?!?!” Faith didn’t notice her voice raised, “SILENCE PLEASE!” their teacher said, “hey calm down, why are you so annoyed with him? Did something happen?” Dhenys whispered, “We accidentally bumped awhile ago and called me stupid.” Faith replied, “Oh really? What an asshole tsk!” Dhenys replied, “I know right” Faith said in a pissed voice.

I almost drop my foods!” Dhenys said in an annoyance voice, “Good for you so that you can lose some fats on your body” Neil laughed in an insulting way, “Oooh my two childhood friends is about to start another war again, come on stop it the two of you.” Faith scolded Dhenys and Neil.

Neil noticed Lawrenz and he immediately pulled him closer, “Guys let me introduce to you my best buddy and the son of the owner of this school Lawrenz but you can call him Renz in short. He may be rude sometimes but he is actually a good friend.”, “We already knew him, he’s our classmate” Dhenys replied. Faith stayed silent to keep herself calm because of what Neil just said.

Faith caught Lawrenz’s attention and he is starting to have interest on her. “hmm she is different from the other girls.” Lawrenz said to his self.

Few days passed, the teacher announced that there will be an important visitors to check the school’s background status and there must be a two top students to perform a project proposal for the observants and “You Lawrenz Eastdale and Faith Hamilton are the one I suggested to perform and the President of the Academy agreed, so you two better get ready because you’re going to perform it next week on wednesday.” Faith was shocked by the announcement but she had no choice. “Saturday, 5 pm at my house.” Lawrenz said to Faith, “Are you crazy? Why does it have to be at your house?” Faith replied while raising her right eyebrows, “Don’t think something stupid, we are just going to make our project proposal. If you want this project proposal to be successful then give me your address so I can pick you up at 4:30 pm, don’t make me wait.” Faith then gave her address to Lawrenz.

[Saturday at 4:30 pm]

“Faith someone is waiting on you outside!” Faith’s mom shouting at Faith, “Okay I gotta go mom BYE!” Faith responded. Lawrenz was starstrucked by the beauty of Faith with her lovely dress. “She looks stunning with that dress on.” Lawrenz’s inner thought. Lawrenz shook his head as he realized he was staring at Faith. “Ready?” Lawrenz then opened the front seat door for Faith. “Ooh I didn’t know you can be gentleman, thank you.” Faith said and Lawrenz secretly smiled.

It didn’t took them 1 hour to arrive at Lawrenz’s house. The gate opened automatically and Lawrenz’s mom welcomed them. “Good evening Mrs. Eastdale” Faith greeted Lawrenz’s mother, “Oh dear are you the lucky girlfriend of my son? Such a pretty young girl” Lawrenz’s mom said in a graceful voice, “Stop it mom, she’s not my girlfriend, she’s here with me because we’re going to make our project proposal. Faith come follow me at the study room.”

*Study Room*

As they start their project, the both of them become so busy.

Three hours has passed. “Aaah let me take a nap first, I’m so tired.” Faith said while stretching her arms, closing her eyes and she rested her head on the desk. Lawrenz also did the same as what Faith did but he’s not closing his eyes. Lawrenz secretly stared at Faith while she is taking a nap and he realized that Faith has a long eyelash, a proud nose, and a smooth juicy lips, in short, she looks like an angel sent from above.

As Faith opened her eyes, a face of Lawrenz surprised her, so she immediately distanced herself from Lawrenz but Lawrenz didn’t cared about what Faith did and so he aggressively went closer to her and Faith didn’t know what to do. “Why? Afraid of something?” Lawrenz said in a playful tone, “W-what are you t-talking about?” Faith stuttering, “You’re blushing huh? That’s kinda cute.” Lawrenz smiled widely, “Oh stop it.” Faith answered.

Mrs. Eastdale suddenly came in “Are you don—" and was shocked “Oh I think I disturbed you hihi” Mrs. Eastdale immediately went out of the room. “Look your mom thought we are doing something urghh” Faith said but Lawrenz just gave her a smile.

Faith noticed that it was raining so hard. “Oh how can I able to go home when its raining too hard?”, “I think you need to stay here overnight, its dangerous out there” Lawrenz said, “Okay I will let my mom know” Faith replied.

*Lounge*

“So did your mom agreed to let you stay here?” Lawrenz asking to Faith, “Oh yes.” Faith replied. Faith slept at the sofa because she feels more comfortable with it while Lawrenz slept at his bedroom.

*Eastdale Academy*

The day of their presentation has approached and their performance was successful. “Congratulations to the both of you, You made us so proud!” their teacher said. Faith was so happy and she didn’t realized that she was hugging Lawrenz. Lawrenz can’t explain what he is feeling as Faith hugged him, he starts to develop his feelings towards Faith.

Days has passed and Lawrenz can’t stop thinking on how to confess his feelings towards Faith but he took the courage to confess before its too late so he immediately searched for Faith and he was lucky enough to find her sitting on a bench nearby and he approached her.

“I have something to tell you, I hope you won’t avoid me.” Lawrenz said to Faith, Faith was nervous and asked “What is it?”, “I like you..a lot” Lawrenz confessed to Faith in a serious tone, Faith was just laughing at him, and Lawrenz was confused and asked her “Why are you laughing at me? You’re not going to avoid me?”, “Why should I avoid you? Lawrenz I felt the same way too.” Faith said in a shy tone. Lawrenz was shocked because he didn’t expect that Faith would feel the same way, “So can I court you?”, “Ahmm…yes?” Faith replied, “WHAT?! REALLY??” Lawrenz pulled Faith near her and hugged her.

After five months of courting her, Faith finally agreed to come in a relationship with Lawrenz. Neil and Dhenys congratulated them. Their mother also was supportive with the relationship of Faith and Lawrenz.

The relationship of the two is getting stronger each day.

Korean Pop Culture Phenomenon

Recently, Korean pop (known as K-pop) culture is a phenomenon in the world. The K-pop culture has grown into some countries intensely such as America, China, Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia and so forth. Nowadays, a lot of teenagers begin to follow the Korean culture such as Korean music, drama, style et cetera which is a great impact on the society. This article looks into interviews to find out what people liked about K-pop and why they are so attracted to it.

There are a lot of entertainment company debut out various kind of idol groups compared to individual singer. The three big entertainment companies in Korea are SM, YG, and JYP. SM Entertainment had debut out many famous idol such as ‘Super Junior’, ‘SNSD’, ‘BoA’, ‘EXO’ and so forth. For example, after ‘Super Junior’ release the song “Sorry, Sorry”, they had become very popular in Asia. In addition, ‘Super Junior’ is the first K-Pop group in the Philippines to achieve 3 Golden Records for the albums, “Sorry, Sorry”, “Bonamana” and “Mr Simple”. According to the Popdust, (SNSD) Girls’ Generation’s “Gee” hits 100 million views on Youtube.

Besides that, YG entertainment had debut out ‘PSY’, ‘Big Bang’, ‘2ne1’ and ‘Lee Hi’ and so on. According to the Billboardbiz, PSYs "Gangnam Style" has just become the first video in the history of the Internet to reach and surpass one billion views. Moreover, JYP entertainment had debut out Wonder Girls, Miss A, 2PM et cetera. According to Kpop news, ‘Wonder Girls’ made history by becoming the first Korean singers to chart on the United States’ Billboard Hot 100 with the songs “Nobody” in 2009.

There are some positive impacts to the society. The K-pop fans will be able to make new friends with other K-pop lovers. For example, they can make new friends through the internet. Moreover, some people have the inspiration of learning Korean language. Hence, they will be able to speak different language. Besides that, listening to our favourite songs can make us feel more relax. Furthermore, some Korean idols give people inspiration to lose weight such as do more exercises. There are also some negative impacts to the society because of K-pop. Most of the fans will spend a lot of time to surfing internet, so that they will be able to receive the latest news of their idols from the internet. Besides that, it will also affect the people who are still studying. The scholar might be neglecting their schoolwork.

In a nutshell, there is a lot of teenagers love K-pop which is between 16 to 25 years old. Most of the teenagers love K-pop because of their talented and good-looking, for instance, some of the K-pop idols can dance and sing well. Furthermore, their new style and new dancing step always attracted to the audiences and they also make the people want to learn the way that their idols dance. Besides that, they will also spend their leisure time to release their stress with listening songs. The K-pop fans will listen the songs no matter they are happy or sad. It will be able to control their emotion as well.
