A…And it’s the way I speak, too…! Surely, my presence has only…worsened it, in which case I’m so sorry my speech has been forced upon you… I’m not…usually approached with mere hellos. Surely, there must be another reason you’ve forced yourself to speak to the likes of m-me.

                 She tenses up a bit as Ibuki pats her shoulder, but easily softens again. "You mean just drawing a little picture on me with a marker...? I mean, I do like needles, but I don't think I could get a tattoo.. I'm a little scared of anyone else handling a tattoo," she admits, eyes rolling to the floor, fingers pressing together. 

                 "M-Maybe I'd be okay with that... just don't spook me or anything..!"

"Ibuki survived, didn’t she? It wasn’t too deep, now that she thinks about it— it’s more tattoo than scar, really! So don’t you worry, Mikan-chan, Ibuki’s gonna be here until the Big Guy comes along and drags her wherever people go whenever they go kaput!" [ She gave a laugh, patting Mikan’s shoulder lightly. It was sweet of the nurse, to care so much about her friends like this. ] “Hey, do you want one too? It won’t be permanent, promise! Ibuki can work her way around with a marker or something, but she can make it look real, too!”

               "No, no! T-That's not what I meant to do..! I'm not imitating you or anything, t-this is just the way I speak!"

No, I only wanted an explanation…! It’s…rude to simply p-pause and stare at people, especially when they’re working…! Stop…imitating my own speech, and give me an answer..! Or, don’t, a-and…simply ignore the petty author and keep on w-walking. It’s your decision…

S…So many people have been passing by as of late…a-and I don’t like it one bit! Have you come to…taunt me this evening? Perhaps come to gawk at the author at work, and distract me f-from my thoughts…? You must be very invested in my failure…

               Mɪᴋᴀɴ has the heart of a ticking time bomb ready to burst in its cage.  She cannot tell if she should be shaking or stock-still.  She didn't know her voice could raise so loud; was that her?  Was that her speaking, begging—no, demanding for acceptance, forgiveness?  The words always echoed in her mind, of course.  The words spilled from her mouth in a waterfall just moments ago.  The desire to be necessary had driven her to the brink many a time.

               Kʏᴏᴜᴋᴏ has the disposition of tempered steel, unbending and unbreaking; she looks into the nurse with daggers even if she doesn't necessarily mean to.  Her words are oddly comforting, but she has no motherly gene in her.

               Uᴘᴏɴ being told to sit down, she nearly ragdolls to the floor, ignoring any and all proper surfaces to sit on around her.  She away from the steely woman above her, hands stroking through her hair—she'd gotten used to the tangles by now.  Her entire body is as unkempt as her hair; her fingernails as badly done as her hair, bandages around her arm haven't been replaced in days, although they don't hide too much.

               ———❝ Wʜʏ would you ever help someone like me? J-Just leave me here, ❞  is the death rattle that bounces from wall to wall, if only quietly.  Her voice is gentle and melancholy as it is almost terrifying for Kyouko, listening from above.  Her hands grip against her hair, pulling at it silently waiting for her response; she knows it'll be something telling her to be calm, that it's fine; but was the other even sure her words rang true?
