just got into AFK Journey and im a bit attached to valen.. i was wondering if you could do something for him? ( maybe like a S/O thing? up to you though!!) perfectly fine if you choose not to though!

Oddly enough, I think Valen is actually very inexperienced with romance. 

Sure, he flirts, and probably has a fan club somewhere in Holistone, but it barely goes anywhere farther. 

You. You are new. And he’s floundering a little. 

He likes you, and he wants to keep being with you, he just has no idea how to do that. 

On your first date, he desperately asked pretty much everyone he knew on advice. 

You are probably getting a rose, or a flower that you like. which he hands out and scratches his head nervously. He’s enthusiastic, at least, though most of his dates has at least one hiccup. It makes hanging out with him pretty interesting! 

Any compliment he gives you are a strange mix of his usual flare for poetics and a honest sincerity 

He gets pretty worried about you should you be an adventurer, sometimes he might have an assignment that takes him elsewhere, sometimes he has to stay back to finish up his reports after Hogan catches him slacking. He gives you a hug and refuses to let go when it’s time to say goodbye. 

“Promise me you’ll be safe, alright?” He murmurs. “I won’t be able to rescue you if you get in danger.” 

He is a knight, through and through, he is chivalrous, polite, and a loyal protector. He is also remarkably cheesy about it. He’ll pull out your chair with a cheeky smile, open the door for you, the works. He’ll even pay for the meals you have together! (And secretly put it on Hogan’s tab, don’t worry, he’l make up for it later.) 

I think if you’re dating Valen, most of the heroic order knows about you, but Valen is remarkably good at keeping the details a secret. You get greeted by random soldiers quite a bit, and during times you are apart, and Valen is busy, they might try to inform you about Valen’s wellbeing, should they be in the know. Hogan especially. 

All in all, he’s a pretty fun boyfriend, easily fluster-able but he will fluster you back. Have fun!

If I had to convey the feeling that such an image elicits in only one word, it would be: safe (and, arguably, horny, but that’s another matter entirely). Because there is no place on earth where you would feel more at home than in Gale’s arms. There is nowhere else in all the conceivable universes that feels as warm, comfortable, and divine than Gale’s chest. Gale as discovered how to turn grapes into wine.

You and Gale had some obvious chemistry, but you've been pining for him a bit. Liquid courage takes hold. Gale x Reader - short, kinda fluff?

The evening began in a simple manner with Gale, the enchanting wizard from Waterdeep, eagerly presenting his latest magical discovery - the ability to transmute grapes into wine. As you watched with admiration, he skillfully performed the intricate spell, moving his fingers through the air with ease until the air was filled with the delightful aroma of newly created wine. Excited to experience the outcome of his hard work, you readily accepted a delicate glass of the freshly brewed wine, luxuriating in the smooth and silky texture that swirled around in your mouth. As time flew by, one glass turned into two, and two turned into three, while you and Gale were engrossed in a deep conversation, enjoying the moment and forgetting all your worries, letting the rich flavor of the wine and the delightful chat drift you away to a serene state of mind. As the night wore on and the wine flowed freely, you grew increasingly tipsy, the world around you spinning in a delightful haze. Gale, ever the gracious host, refilled your glass with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, his cheeks flushed with the warmth of the wine. "A-another glass, m'dear?" he asked, his voice tinged with amusement. You nodded eagerly, the laughter bubbling up from deep within you as you reached for the glass he offered, your fingers brushing against his. The touch sent a jolt of electricity through you, igniting a fire in your veins that you couldn't ignore. As the night progressed and the glasses of wine continued to be poured, you found yourself growing more daring, your inhibitions melting away with each passing moment. You leaned in towards Gale, your laughter intermingling with his as you shared whispered confidences and exchanged furtive glances in the soft, muted light of the room. But then, something shifted in the air. A shiver shot down your spine as Gale's hand brushed against yours, his fingers lingering on your skin for a beat longer than necessary. You looked up to find him watching you, his eyes smoldering with desire as he leaned in even closer, his lips hovering just inches away from yours. For a moment, you hesitated, unsure of how to proceed. But then, emboldened by the heady mix of wine and desire, you leaned in and pressed your lips to his, the taste of wine and magic mingling on your tongue as the world around you faded away. Gale's eagerness was palpable as he pulled you towards him, his arms enveloping you tightly as his lips met yours in a passionate kiss. You could feel the intensity of his desire as his hands roamed over your body, exploring every inch of your skin. But just as quickly as it had begun, the kiss came to an abrupt halt. A flicker of uncertainty crossed Gale's face, leaving you wondering what had caused him to pull away so suddenly. "I… I'm sorry," he stammered, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I didn't mean to overstep. I-I got carried away." You silenced him with another kiss, your lips crashing together in a desperate embrace as you sought to erase the doubt and hesitation between you. And as the night stretched on, you found yourselves lost in each other, the wine forgotten as you surrendered to the passion that burned between you.

A Tav romance dynamic that I would love is tav being the older and more experience lover. Tav that is similar to Halsin in a sense.

They aren't particular slutty in a sense but more on horny when a certain switch is flipped for them.

I want a Tav that isn't shy about talking about sex but just doesn't announce it as they see it disrespectful to their partner.

A Tav that will add their input about very lewd joking conversations with a sense of experience and everybody will be just like eyebrow raised in befuddlement.

A Tav that will correct or give tips to Shadowheart when she talks about bondage or when she is in bondage on knots that give more pleasure and security than pain.

A Tav that will gently wrap any blisters and ice any bruises Lae'zel gets after their very fiery and passionate sessions. Sessions that specifically included a hand wrapping around her neck and firmly squeezing.

A Tav that knows how to slow Karlach's hips down. Showing her the fun in indulging on unrushed and focused thrusts.

A Tav that Astarion knows have held and dominated dozens of lovers before him is now kneeling for him. That Tav chooses to kneel for him.

A Tav that shows Wyll all the possibilities love and passion could be. A lover that has so much love in their eyes that just meeting Wyll's eyes he feels passion in his belly roars. A Tav that shows love and lust doesn't have to be separate.

A Tav that shows Gale laughter during sex isn't always an insult. To have a lover that you can trust to have a laugh during sex is a great sign of love.

whenever i play, i'm struck by just how many little things and reactivity larian removed from gale, as a companion, but also as a romance interest.

in the full release version of the game, you can have this conversation about what gale would do if he ever felt the netherese magic overtaking him:

Player: If you ever feel the Netherese magic overtaking you, what will you do? Gale: If it should ever come to that, if I ever know I am no longer able to stop it, I will do anything I can to ensure no one but me pays for my mistakes. Gale: I will find the remotest place on the surface of Faerûn, or perhaps far below in the depths of the Underdark. Gale: I will await that death alone. Gale: I promise I will not betray your trust. You kept me by your side despite the menace that I am. Gale: If worst comes to worst, I will be gone long before the curtain falls.

however, in early access, this dialogue had a small variation if the player character romanced gale:

Player: If you ever feel the Netherese magic overtaking you, what will you do? Gale: If it should ever come to that, if I ever know I am no longer able to stop it, I will do anything I can to ensure no one but me pays for my mistakes. Gale: I will find the remotest place on the surface of Faerûn, or perhaps far below in the depths of the Underdark. Gale: I will await that death alone. Gale: I promise I will not betray your trust. You kept me by your side despite the menace that I am. Gale: I cherish you. [romance specific line] Gale: If worst comes to worst, I will be gone long before the curtain falls.

i made gifset for this conversation in early access, too, and the expression alone hopefully helps a little to show those who haven't experience early access a bit to convey the deep sincerity and sheer weight of those words coming from gale in that moment:

it's 'only' a short line in the grand scheme of things that was removed here, but it's a shame since a simple flag change could've preserved it.

along with the loss of the deer stew scene, the loss scene as well as at least 23 short conversation / environmental conversation, it just adds and adds and adds up to an extremely diminished experience overall.
