stars. our muses lay beneath the stars together, where they can try to catch a glimpse of shooting star or point out the constellations. SINLAY IN SCOTLANNDDDD
no matter where in the world she looked up at that stars, sadie found she could still read their stories like the back of her hand. it's cold in scotland this time of year, and more damp than she's used to, but she hardly notices a chill with @yaburnae's jacket tight around her, more akin to being wrapped in a blanket with the way it envelops her. she lays on the grass next to him, shoulder to shoulder with no light but that of the stars, even the moon having averted her gaze to allow them privacy.
“see that one?” she reaches an arm over to point out a collection of twinkling stars overhead, shining in the blanket of midnight to the north. “that's draco. according to myth, the goddess hera had a dragon who guarded her golden apples. heracles slayed it to steal the apples, and hera granted the dragon a place among the stars to honor it.” blue eyes cast faraway as vivid images of the drake taking form coalesce in her mind, shimmering and laden with starlight as he floats down to her side. a smile softens the corners of her mouth that she does not entirely register, allowing herself the moment to walk down the path of memory and imagination. the moment passes in a beat of silence, and the heat of finlay's gaze is hot at her temple, causing her to glance up with a smile before looking back to the sky, shifting her extended arm slightly. “and just there, in ursa minor—the little dipper—see that bright star? that's polaris, the north star. it always points north, while the sky moves around it. i always loved that, that something could stay so constant in the face of so much change. and anytime i felt, i dunno, lost or alone, i only needed to look up and there it was.” now smile turns wistful, and sadie rests her hand on her chest as she stares in silent wonder at the stars that never leave her. another beat of quiet passes before she looks back to him, eyes twinkling, “isn’t that kind of beautiful? ”
