Listen some of these look so good it's like they belong to some plashart or cinamatic version of the games! Like the Chris being hostage for instance, it looks like it's been pulled from some dlc or such! It's so realistic-looking it's making my mind run with ideas!!
I mean... A plotline like this sounds very interesting! Chris being kidnapped or taking hostage all of a sudden in the middle of warfare or an op, or we could even imagine it as some extension of the re6 plot - some extended lockable mission or alternate route! So many possibilities~ with all the sexual tension pumped with adrenaline filling the air around them as they come to term with their burried/hideen feelings and desires in the middle of rescuing each other and not expecting the other to show up/seeing the other so vulnerable....

Since I'm very into RE again (re3 plat to start the year, a little fic, plus trying to plat also re4r, send prayers), I decided to revisit my old deviantart + xnalara stuff I made in like 2017? and some chreon pics came out (that I completely forgot about). I made these for other people's/my own fics iirc, and, well, some are cringe (2016/2017 yo, give me a break), but some I put some effort into it and they are not that bad. I wasn't on tumblr when I made these, so I thought why not save them here for the fandom instead of just deleting them? Enjoy 😉

do you write?
Not as much as I want to and used to.
I have some works on two different fandoms on ao3, as for resident evil, I've written a little metaltango entry here, and the first chapter of a large chreon plot idea I had here.

Well, that pretty much explains why I only talk about 4 men in this blog ever since I joined this fandom.

I feel like, realistically speaking, if we weren't in a video game, Krauser wouldn't be killing Leon if the latter loses. I feel like giving the big tumultuous and ambiguous history between these two, if it were any other type of entraitement, Krauser would have kept Leon alive if set to win.
Because it will be a shame to toss all of that history and not play with it for a while longer. Krauser could have easily spared Leon because ultimately, he never expected him to be involved nor did he hate him. He was glad he went by Leon's hand by the end, almost like he wouldn't have it any other way - as if he longed for it to end and have the peace he sought next to his fallen comrades and Leon clearly holds a special part in his life and heart (however the person wants to see that). There was no bitterness in having Leon loom over him. There was contentment.(let's not - never - forget he was supposed to guide Leon's hand with his in the script).
That's why I like to think these two could've had different outcome if it weren't a video game setting with one party the protagonist and the other a boss fight. And if Krauser was set to win, he would have spared Leon. Now what would he have done with him, set him free or taking him hostage is up for each and everyone's theories and fantasies and other plotbunnies.
This is just something that crossed my mind and I wanted to put out here.

I once realized (after another long time rambling about this guy) that Krauser could have been Leon's father or relative based on the number of similarities in their looks (especially the eyes!). They have the same type of good looks and I think that's what makes them popular in the fanarts. Also a detail I once noticed, him and Leon wear the exact same gloves.

A few days ago, I made a post vaguely talking about how there is a portion of Leon's Mercenary Theme that aligns with Jack's.
Well, I finally pieced together the audios:
I tried to explain what was being mashed together, but in short:
The guitar riffs for both themes are identical, if not very very close (section: A Challenger Approaches)
The buildups prior to that also align fairly decently.
After the guitar, the themes "clash" with one another. The beats match sometimes, mistmatch others (section: Knife Fight) I might be "blue curtain"-ing it, but I think it fits their dynamic as characters.
Then almost as soon as Leon's theme actually fades, Jack's mimics that "heroic" sound that Leon's had (section: Kennedy's Retreat/Jack's Theme). Kind of like how Jack taunts Leon througouht their fight(s) in the main game.
I'm not someone who's like, an expert at audio editing or analysis (in fact my ass is probably the least qualified person) but you know what? We have fun; we stay silly :3
Edit: Idk if this part is interesting, but here's whe waveforms for the part where both themes start, and the guitar riff (respectively)

I guess if I had to choose one alternative universe, out of the most credible ones, it'd be to see Leon join the STARS and be familiar with Wesker before the big betrayal. To see his relationship with Chris when he was still a rookie kid and see his big blue eyes go wide and as he stands up before Wesker (You know the fanart haha).
Also to see how Wesker's betrayal would impact Leon, too, how he would have fared in the mansion in the re1 events, if he would have been with Chris and Jill when they would go after him later, If he would have marked Wesker in any way like Chris did, etc...
Even if Leon would have gone his own way with the goverment and Chris in the BSAA, it's interesting to imagine that Wesker knows Leon intimately while they were in spain.

And that's just the obvious analogies we can make between real life events and RE's. If we want to dig or ponder deeper into the aspects of certains events like the organizations we have in RE and other cults, we'll have to go down the famous rabbit hole and that's when the picture gets clearer and murkier at the same time.
Real life's dark side is a worse than fiction. Those who live a relatively normal life don't actually realize that they're lucky to be sheltered.
That's why I say it again. Entrainement et fiction is fun but educate yourself, too. You might make a difference.
I’m not sure if there even is a solid answer to this question, but how much does resident evil stray from real-world politics and laws n stuff????? Cuz like on a surface level it doesn’t seem like RE works on the same logic as the real world- like for example I doubt Leon would’ve been straight up kidnapped by the government like he was (at least nowadays, that seems like it’d go against some kind of humanitarian laws BCNHSWNSJNS but I probably wouldn’t put it past them in the early 2000’s) and ofc there’s fictional organisations like Terrasave or the BSAA but how closely/how far does the series stray from real-world laws and politics?????
TW// just some generally pretty heavy content ahead including brief mentions of eugenics, genocide, war crimes, torture, etc.
RE actually stays pretty true to real life! Some of the events in the series were inspired by real-life events as well. For example, both 9/11 and the "War on Terror" are things that happened both in real life and in RE. In terms of Leon being kidnapped, yeah it is a violation of a lot of things, but the US routinely violates pretty much everything with absolutely no consequences. That's just the unfortunate reality of our world. I talked about it in a previous post but if this is something you're curious about, I'd highly recommend looking into the declassified CIA operations because that shit is wild but that's... actual things the gov has admitted to doing.
Things like Wesker being kidnapped as a baby and used for a eugenics project, yeah similar things have happened. There was a huge eugenics movement in the US and they were forcibly sterilizing people up until the 80s. The US also did Operation Paperclip and while we don't know for sure if the US gov participated in the Wesker Project, it wouldn't be that surprising. There was also the experiment (Baltimore Lead Paint Study) in which Johns Hopkins, funded by the gov, knowingly exposed a bunch of kids to lead resulting in them having raised serum lead levels-- which causes a whole bunch of other problems. (There were a lottttt of very unethical experiments funded by the US government, one time they fucked up so bad the president had to issue an apology, which didn't really mean shit, but still.)
I think the US gov having dealings with Umbrella would be most similar to MKUltra and Project Artichoke since the CIA was doing nefarious (and that's an understatement) experiments for torture during interrogations (which was banned by the UN in '48 but the US doesn't actually abide by the international laws, they just pretend to). Speaking of the UN, Wesker was actually reading through real-life UN files in RE4R too.
The Eastern Slav Republic, while actually Slovakia in real life according to the coordinates, was meant to represent Ukraine, and Capcom based the events of the movie loosely on the Orange Revolution, although it's not too dissimilar from what's happening now. The US joining forces with Russia to take over a country and bomb the fuck out of them isn't really far off since, in real life, the US is currently funding the genocide of Palestinians.
But like I mentioned in my previous post, in terms of bad things that are against international law, kidnapping a 21yo old and forcing them into government service would be child's play compared to some of the shit the US gov has actually done. Humanitarian laws only "matter" if the US can weaponize them and cite them as a reason to invade a country, and that has to change.

Man... What actually saddens me is seeing how sooo many people (especially this latter generation) are so naive of the both past and present reality of the us goverment and other foreing agencies, of the victims caught in its web and the utter monstrous operations just brought up and so many more that exist like operation Gladio, just to add another, and the unprecedented evil going right now in palestine, something that's right under our eyes right this instant and yet...
Truth to be told, this is not to make a smartass analogy but to stray from fictional stuff for a second, that corruption spoken about above is the true evil in our reality. So yes. Real life has loong since surpassed the fiction, trust me.
People should educate themeselves more.
You're making me sad on Christmas Eve.
You're evil.
It's so sad to see the way Leon's life has turned out. He never had a choice and was forced to work for the government and I find it impressive that he kept his essence of being a good person, of not wanting to hurt anyone, the only thing he wanted was to save lives, to help people.
What annoys me most is the way in which leon and benford's friendship was projected, which makes no sense at all since president benford was one of those involved and blamed for the tragic course of leon's life since benford was one of the agents who kidnapped and forced leon to work for the government.
I have to tell you that if Leon dies, I will cry but I hope he gets the peace he fought so hard to have.
Jesus, you've made me sad thinking about all this.
I have a crazy question, do you think this could happen in real life? Someone being forced to work for the government?
AKSJAKS I'M SORRY
But yeah, Leon's such a tragic character and RE6's rather strange depiction of Benford and Leon's relationship makes me want to claw at the walls, but I'm hoping this will be fixed/amended in the seemingly inevitable RE6 remake.
In terms of it happening in real life, without a doubt. In fact, I'd be surprised if it *didn't* happen-- it's probably happened countless times. The US gov is a fucking shitshow full of monsters and that's just the tip of the ice berg. If this is something you're curious about, I'd highly recommend looking into the declassified CIA operations like MK-Ultra, Project Mockingbird, or Operation Condor. There's so many but the US has done some truly heinous shit and *continues* to do heinous shit. For instance, the gov is currently funding the slaughter of thousands of children and millions of innocent people-- a genocide-- in Palestine. Kidnapping someone and forcing them to work for the gov would be child's play compared to what they've done in real life.
Butttttt, on a more cheerful note, Leon canonically dislikes rich people and Chris is canonically anti-capitalist 😌
