This has been on my mind for long but I’m gonna do this - please reblog this if you’re comfortable with pre-establishing relationships. I do not mean “met at the grocery store two weeks ago” or “have a common friend”, but rather stuff like “have been best friends since kindergrden”, “go for a beer every friday”, “friends with benefits”, “dated in highschool”, “hate each other’s guts because -insert reason-”  etc. Something meaningful (but not necessarily shippy) and I mean with muns/characters you have not interacted with, because I cannot believe I am the only one who prefers jumping right into the heart of the human interaction.

i haven't been on tumblr in over 24 hours. i've been obsessed with a series of books from piper rayne and it's the perfect little escape. i may be missing again tomorrow (& the next day?), i still have 6 1/2 of the 12 books to go.

With a slight tilt of his head, Elijah lays his cheek upon the crown of hers, adjusting them both just slightly so he can gather her legs up beside him and cradle her body against his chest as he remains gazing over the words in the book. He makes a habit of reading something he's never read before once a day, or revisiting poetry that never seems to age.

He's only slightly surprised when she asks him to read to her, and he flips through a few more pages until he settles on a poem he hasn't read in quite some time, strangely fitting if he says so himself. Softly clearing his throat, Elijah lets the deep timbre of his voice enunciate each syllable, falling into a natural pattern and rhythm that make the experience less daunting and more enjoyable. His fingers never stop tracing lines on her back, and if he quietly adorns his name onto her skin in an invisible but possessive move that he'd otherwise find ridiculous, well... who's going to tell on him?

"You will love again the stranger who was your self.  Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you 

all your life, whom you ignored  for another, who knows you by heart."

The way his touch still sent goosebumps over her skin was simply a testament to the affect he still had on her. The way she gets butterflies when he looks at her the right way. The way sometimes she'll catch him doing something and she cant help but just.... realize how much it is that she truly loves him.

The way he's petting her is also a very quick way to sooth her in most cases no matter what her mood was prior. So when he asks her if this closeness and affection is satisfactory, Katherine cant help but humm.

Nodding softly, eyes still closed as she took in the way his touch sent shivers up her spine, and the way being in his arms felt safe.

"I don't thing I can reach the table right now." She chuckled lazily. "Too comfortable.... read to me?" She honestly isn't interested in the book... but the sound of his voice and the vibrations in his chest are soothing. She might be able to fall asleep here...

His lips quirk up at the corner at the surprised sound, but he doesn't elude to having heard it otherwise, thus he embarrasses her and she decides she doesn't want to make herself at home in his lap. "Wanting you close to me and doing what I must to get you here is not mind-reading, my dear," he says with an air of nonchalance, but he looks to her face out of the corner of his eye to see her contentment as she lays her head upon his shoulder and Elijah is reassured by the smile on her face that he made the right choice. As one hand turns the pages, the other runs single fingers tracks up and down her spine, sliding with her curves over to her waist and drawing an imaginary line from hip to shoulder, then back again, his hands memorizing the curves of her body while his senses become full of her; the scent of her hair and whatever perfume she's chosen for the day; the softness of her skin beneath his fingers; the sound of her heartbeat softly drumming away in her chest. "Is this satisfactory enough attention for you or do you plan to begin knocking things off the corners of tables like a naughty kitten next?"

ok but someone give me that cute bartender storyline though? like this guy tends bar at a restaurant or a pub or something and always sees this cute girl hanging out there, but she’s always either with friends or with some guy so he never really gets the time to talk to her BUT ONE DAY she walks into the place alone and orders so many drinks until she’s so bloody drunk, screaming about how her boyfriend cheated on her, that the bartender had to bring her home himself. she wakes up with a horrible hangover, stumbles out the room to find the bartender cooking breakfast and rolling his eyes, laughing. “first of all, you’re an idiot. second, we didn’t have sex if that’s what you’re wondering. third, breakfast will be ready soon. sit.” and fluff commences HELP PLZ
