1941 (1979). Hysterical Californians prepare for a Japanese invasion in the days after Pearl Harbor.
I'm not even entirely sure where to start with this one. Steven Spielberg's known as being a pretty unerotic director, but this is the most sexless sex comedy I think I've ever seen. It's cold almost, a stuttered, unfunny epic that I imagine brought him back down to earth after the two-fold success of Jaws and Close Encounters. Just - - yeah. Total disaster. There are a couple of decent action sequences though, I guess? 3/10.
