Dead Silence Hides My Cries
Http://www.facebook.com/dshmc
Dead Silence Hides My Cries is a perfect example of an ideal Do-It-Yourself kind of band. The type of artist that understands that success falls in our own hands...
1. What is D.S.H.M.C all about?!
Our band consists of 6 people. WE are from Belarus, we play hardcore metal electronic. We got demo '2009, LP the wretched symphony '10 and it's deluxe edition '11 with bonus tracks. Recently we had some members shift( the new guy is me by the way, the one who is translating this interview, my name is Vlad Yukhnel:)) and we are recording a new album now!! 2. Tell us a little about the local Hardcore/Metal Scene out in Minsk, Belarus
Oh our HC and MC scene is not cool, it's not developed at all. Nothing to talk about, I would say.
3. The Wretched Symphony is a great album, what efforts have you guys made to get the album out there?
It took a lot of intense stuff! Beginning with the search of instruments and gear and ending with mixing and mastering(which was performed in russia, since there are no good specialists in our country at all), we are so happy to work with Ivan, he is the one who made it possbile to reach such quality!  4. How do you guys promote yourselves?
Sure thing, we do it every day, because we really need it. 5. Whats your view on record labels...are they "good or bad" or do we even need them anymore?
Some managers contacted us, but unfortunatelly our album is absolutely freely downloadable on the internet. We hope that we are gonna be signed soon and our second album is gonna be published on a label, because it gives an opportunity to make music our job. That's all we want!!
6. Do bands have to sell "pre-sale" tickets in order to play at venues in Belarus?
Only the beginners have to do that.
7. Who does your band photography??
We do it ourselves. We just borrow the light and the camera. Not so good, but still we do it on our own.
8. What future shows/events are you guys looking forward too?
October 16th with The Devil Sold His Soul and October 27th with Helia!! 9. What bands would you shit yourself to tour with??
Oh it's a long list!! The only thing that matters is the fact of a tour itself. But if u want us to be more specific: asking alexandria, tdwp, we came as romans, aild, attack attack!, BMTH, betraying the martyrs etc.
10. Tell us about this album you guys are currently recording!!
расскаите об альюоме который вы пишите It's gonna be so much different from the first one! It's gonna be more symphonic and melodic, it's gonna have more clean vocals and epic atmosphere. At the same time it's gonna be mighty and its' gonna contain guest vocals, for example Victor's from Betraying The Martyrs. 11. What do you think holding back your bands success?
Money:) we had a lot of propositions and stuff, but everything faces the lack of money. We feel that with a decent amount of cash we can rock the world real hard!! 12. What issues are you guys currently dealing with??
Economical crisis in the country,we can't even afford to eat in Mcdonalds!  Working together with studying which sucks up a lot of precious time. 13. Any video games you guys are into?
I think we don't play videogames practically at all now, we are too mature for it I dunno:) It least I(Matvey Fedorenchik) played Mafia 2 and GTA 4 not so long ago. These are the games that everyone should try imho:) 14. If a zombie outbreak occurred, who in your band would most likely die first?!!!
Our president 15. Whats it like to party with DSHMC?!
какого с вами тусить? It can't be desribed) we like to get drunk and stupid and trash the whole place till it's a burger. but lately we came to a conclusion that we have to stop for a while, till we reach something really meaningful.

Fall Line Coming Soon!!!!
Its been a long time since I updated our blog with our current craziness. Schools started back up so i've put the line on a semi-back burner. The fall designs are ready and I seriously cant wait to show everyone. I'm confident that this line will do way better than my previous one. I read this designer book that said "If you wont wear it, you shouldnt sell it"....its changed everything!!
I re-designed the fall line to be a bit more masculine, it should appeal to more people than our previous line that was really....bright. We did really well at GCS and should have the Fall line in there within 2 weeks. I've been thinking about branching out to about 5-8 more stores in California. I don't want the brand in malls, sell out shops, or ghetto stores. I want to keep things exclusive to our support base.
I've spent a great deal of time developing a full blown marketing plan. I want to start working with more artists and Dj's. We've been setting up/supporting a grip of house shows, clubs, and parties to keep spreading the word. My goal is to shoot about 30-40 band before december and book about 25 events before November. Were working closer with management from Glass House and the Bunny Hut. Lots of great events coming up!!
The fall line is going to have XS-2XL sizes available so all the little and big people can steal some swag!! We dropped American Apparel and switched over to another brand thats half the price. To be honest it was a waste of time to have a wholesale account with american apparel. It's only worth the time if your ordering hundreds of shirts. Its been such a relief since moneys extremely tight, now im just dealing with picking which clothes to match up with designs. I'm spending the rest of this week printing shirts for clients and printing out 2 of the fall line designs. I'm going to also be updating the website with some new widgets. I've been thinking about also selling band merch through the website for the local bands we work with. I have a grip of other ideas but I dont want to spill them out quite yet.
The hardest thing i've been dealing with is finding models that fit the image im going for. I'm searching left and right and found a hand full of people scattered throughout southern California. Even with that locations are so hard to find. most of the architecture in California is ugly and too modern.
Anyways, i'm sure all of this is going to pay off. Its pretty neat printing out everything by hand. It makes me really appreciate having customers ya know!! I'll be filming some more promo material over the next few weeks and have everything up and running within the month.
My best friend talyn repping out shit after his first MMA fight! I had no idea he was going to wear it... :]

Geisha Twins Interview!!!
1. What inspired you guys to pick the name "Geisha Twins"? Well growing up we have been really into anime, like cowboy bebop, samruie champloo, ghosts in a shell etc, and the whole japaense culture, so one day the name was pitched out and it only felt right to use it, and being that there is 2 of us we used the word twins at the end. 2. Whats up with you guys lately?! We have been working on a mass amount of remix for some good friends of ours, some we can name are, Cassara, Gramphone Children, and Viceroy, other then that we are wrapping up our next EP that should be coming out on Starudst Records coming out in september, and we are working on getting more gigs out before the year ends. Beside just music we’ve been going out a lot lately. Going to see shows almost every weekend. It’s been really fun. More into the music spectrum 3. Whats the best part of touring around and spinning throughout California? Probably the weather. Normally wherever we go its either too hot or too cold. When we get to stay in California we know what to expect. 4. What kind of bullshit do you deal with while touring?? The one thing we dislike but it goes for almost all DJs, is the downtime between arriving at an airport and waiting for your show that night. Sometimes its not a problem because the promoter or whoever will show you a goodtime around the city. But other times you might be stuck in an airport or hotel till your show beings for a billion hours haha. 5. What are you guys trying to do in 2011?? We are trying to push all forms of house not just sample base. Lately we have been going a more synth approach to remixs rather then using old disco and funk samples, we also are trying to get more gigs in other places around the united states to expose people to the Geisha Twins 6. What changes have you been seeing in the club scene? This is a tuffy since we haven’t been in this scene to long, the only real change we can see is more venues grouping all sorts of artist together, for example this one venue we DJ at called No Come Down featured an Indie Band, a Tribal DJ, a House DJ, and Disco/Funk DJs. Which was way cool because we got to hear some new music and get some different vibes, rather then grouping the same acts and hearing the same songs being played all night. 7. Whats your music writing/mixing process like? It’s a bit everywhere sometimes we will find a funky sample and build off that, or others times we will build off a fat synth line. 8. If one of you two turned into a zombie, would you kill him?? If we were on the run and in the heat of a zombie outbreak pinned down by a massive amount of zombies. I mean we would have to. If we were at a strong hold and we went out to gather food or something we would probably just get a bunch of chains and keep the other alive till a cure was found. 9. Whats the weirdest experience you had at a club? Being given 2 bottles of vodka for free after we DJ in Vegas at the venue, it was the first time we had ever gotten free stuff and it blew our minds away 10. Tell me a secret! Ableton Live is the least live program hahahahaha

Arms of Enmity Interview
1. Whats up with the band?!
-Well, this band originally started with out with me and our lead guitarist John back in late 2006. Later on through out the years we had band members going in and out of the band simply because they couldn't keep up with the style that we were shooting for. In mid 2009 we brought in David, that I have known since the 1st grade, as our bassist. January we found Paulo and brought him in the band as our 2nd guitarist. Since then we have been making our music so much better than before. We love what we do and don't plan on ever quitting. Personally, this has been the best experience in my entire life. We work on our songs and put the time needed into them until we feel comfortable enough with them and that we can play them live.
2. If you had to make 2 of your band members fight each other, who would you pick?!
-I would pick John and Paulo for no good reason, just because I think it would be funny. But if it were for a serious reason, I wouldn't let them fight at all.
3. What do you think about Pre-sale tickets?!
-Pre-sale is a pain in the ass. But that's what we have to go for, for now if we want to play at bigger shows and get known more and faster.
4. When's the next show?!
-Our next show is this Friday at sound scape in anaheim, we're selling tickets for $10.
5. What band have you guys been dying to play with???
-Bands like, as i lay dying, whitechapel, knights of the abyss, august burns red, oceano, for today, etc.
6. What do you guys do to promote yourselves??
-We tell our friends on facebook to check us out on our band page and to listen to our music and to tell us what they think. Or also other ways like telling people at our school about us, or where ever we get the chance to.
7. Whats the best part of being in a band?!
-Making music, doing what we love, combining our hard worked on talents together for people to listen to and hope they will like it. If not then we work even harder.
8. Whats the best show you guys played so far, and why?
-Gruesome Fest at The Glasshouse, September 24. 2010. That was our first major show and it was the best one. Even though we had to sell 60 tickets pre-sale but it was definitely worth it.
9. What do you guys think record labels are looking for now a days?
-Something different than everyone else in the metal scene. Music that's very catchy and they know for sure that people will listen to. We all know they wont just sign anybody. We would have to give it out all if we want to get signed by a big record label.
10. Whats the bands dream??
-To get big, become very well known by all, not because of the fame because we can care less about that. Because we want to be known for making good music and hopefully spreading a message that will change the world into a better place and be known for the good things that we did for the world. Also to continue doing what we love, even when we get old. I want my kids or grand kids, great grand kids, etc, to see me and say "hey, he helped change the world into a better place, and was a great musician." to their friends or who ever.

Conducting From the Grave Interview!!
Interview w/Mikey Powell - Vocalist
  1. So whats currently going on with the band?!
We are currently on the road right now w/ The Contortionist, Rings of Saturn, Scale the Summit, Volumes, and Structures for the Slaughter Survivors tour.
2. How do you guys feel about headlining your tour?!!!!
Technically its a co-headliner with both us and The Contortionist switching for whatever band has played a city more, but we have headlined most nights, its been really awesome, and we have had a lot of fun and got to play for a lot of new faces, so all in all not bad for a first headliner 3. How is the current tour going, anything crazy happen in the last few days?
Its going great, all the bands are super awesome and all around great guys so its never really a dull moment. We all have been mostly getting super drunk after the shows or even during the shows, but nothing major has went down so far, here's to hoping that changes tho!
4. Your one of the few vocalists that has insane stage presence, what inspired you to start getting wild on stage?
Well thank you man i appreciate that, when i went to go see bands at shows i was always amazed at the musical talent of the players who rocked out on stage the hardest, to me its not a show unless you get to see something, and if that means i act like a demon on stage summoning a wide variety of epic dark monsters from the abyss then so be it, i want to put on a show for my fans!! 5. What bands partied the hardest on your last tour?!
By far us and All Shall Perish, we always party hard tho. 6. Any touring advice for our local bands?!
Just do it, even if its a bad experience, it prepares you for the ups and downs of being a musician who's trying to make it, but when you get to your high school reunion and your high school douche rival tells you hes a dentist, you can (hopefully) tell him you went to japan and had an Asian orgy with you and 10 other hot Asian models after a show you played to 50,000 fans!! You never know what will happen until you try. just tour, and tour hard!! 7. If there was a zombie outbreak who would survive the longest in your band and why?!
Probably me, I play the most first person shooters. but Greg and his family do own A LOT of shotguns... 8. Does anyone in the band have a secret obsession with something??
We are a drinking band with a metal problem.....does that answer your question?
9. Who would win in a horse shoe toss, me or you??
I would whoop your little skinny ass, unless you use your amazingly freakish first game ever luck skills to beat me =] 10. In what scenario would you willingly cut you hair completely off?? (gun to the head with your band held hostage...etc?!?)
That ones easy, i would cut my hair if i got sick of it, like i am now. I ain't trying to be no Diana Ross!
Check out there upcoming tour dates @ http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150638426330147&set=a.10150305222925147.555534.252667840146&type=1&theater

Pre-Summer Release!!
So the plan is to get the promo shots done for the clothing line by next Saturday. I can handle the website shots by just shooting against a white wall. I doubt anyone will be able to tell the difference. It doesn't make sense to hit up a studio to get them done lol.
I'm thinking about re-shooting in LA, downtown Pomona, and maybe at the beach. There the 3 area's we usually hit up and represent our California roots really well. We got the new logo in of the owl and crossing keys. It suits the line well, the shirts are all based off of life lessons that i've experienced. I've grown and adapted from every situation that has been thrown at me and gained some form of wisdom from it (hence the owl), also the lifestyle we life is strictly nocturnal from shows, to clubs, to parties, and band practices....there all at night ha ha
Its odd, some important people like the guitarist from Liferuiner and famous tattoo artist Whittney lennox have hit me up about getting involved with the line. but after messaging them back I dont get a reply. I don't know what to make of it, I'm sure after I brand a bit more they'll come around. I'm going to spend the rest of this year branding the clothing line. I need to hammer down on Pomona a bit more then spread out to Anaheim, to LA, then to San Diego.
I want to spread the philosophy of the line. Persueing your dreams at all costs, thinking before making a decision, maintaining class and respecting ourselves at all times, helping out others out, being there for your friends, keeping it real at parties,etc....I think my friend Talyn and I are going to come up with a solid line up ha ha. we'll call it "Realism" lol.
No on a real level, were the ones replacing the previous generation. We are the ones that will be in control of our cities, governments, and businesses. We are the fucking future of california....were the ones making tattoo's acceptable, were the ones making metal crazier, were the ones keeping music alive, were the ones starting up the new music/entertainment companies. We all are the new revolution.
