welcome to the Spooky Stranger Things Big Bang!!! A Big Bang event for people 15 and up!! I thought it would be fun to run an event that teens can be in, too!

writer sign ups: May 1st-May 31st
writing starts: you can start writing as soon as you sign up!
artists sign ups: May 1st-July 25th
first check-in: July 28th
Art Claims: August 5th-August 15th
Second Check-in: August 30th
Final Check in: September 27th
Posting: October 16th-31st
The minimum word count for all fics is 10k words
The minimum for all art pieces is 1 (obviously)
The minimum word counts for writers through:
first check in: 5k
second check in 10k
final check in: completed and beta-read
The minimum progress for artists:
second check-in: 50% final check-in 100%
You can write about anything, as long as it’s just a little bit spooky, this is kind of a Halloween big bang 🥰
Your fics cannot be beta-read by you, because sometimes people don’t notice things in their own writing no matter how many times they re-read the piece, but it can be beta read by someone who’s not a part of this event! (ex. Friend, family member)
If you have any questions throughout the bang, feel free to send in an ask and I’ll answer them as soon as I can! Or DM me in the discord group once you sign up!
all of these fics will be posted on ao3 (and here if you want!) and the chapter have to be posted at once so that I can keep track of things

Hello everyone!!
We as the mod team have LOVED running this space but it really does rely on fans sending in recs! We can supply some but there’s no way that we can do the level we need by ourselves.
The last few challenge Mondays and theme weekends have been a struggle to put out. We’re only receiving one or two asks for each request, and maybe one or two on the days of when we’ve already filled all the slots.
We also just don’t have recs coming in anymore! They trickle in, but we’ve had to cut back on our posting to keep things going longer.
For now, we’re going to keep trying to get the challenges and themes out, to keep running the space as it is now, but it may come down to discontinuing these challenges!

my favorite flavor of steddie is like, eddie who is on the cusp of unhealthily obsessed with steve like if you angle it a certain way it would be Toxic™ but it's like a true and sweet enough love that it just falls short like he's not controlling and manipulative and he can do his own thing without steve but his brain is just STEVE STEVE STEVE in the background the whole time. and then you have steve who is looking at eddie like he's the coolest thing in the world, and LOVES eddie, but like in such a lovely mundane way like he daydreams about holding eddie's hand and cooking him breakfast and picking out curtains and planning a fall wedding for them kind of love.
just steve who deserves to be someone's first choice no matter what and eddie who deserves someone who looks at him like he's a regular person who deserves a normal life and chooses every single day to love eddie no matter what

Having a vampire’s teeth so close to his neck should have been terrifying, but that wasn’t the emotion that Steve was experiencing right now. He wondered if he really had broken his brain.

In which Steve Harrington stumbles upon a vampiric Eddie Munson and makes some questionable decisions, including locking Eddie in his basement. Though Eddie isn't thrilled with this arrangement, he seems awfully excited to watch vampire movies with his captor.
Steve is determined to not lose anyone this time, but with Vecna seeking out new prey, he might just lose himself.
