May 14, 2022. I cleaned off the table and chairs today since it’s now warm enough to sit out on the balcony. I texted Ben and Rebecca this photo and asked them to let Zazz know the “catio” is open for the season and we are accepting reservations.
May 12, 2022. Natalie and Anthony are in the DC area for a long weekend. Nat spent the day at Sam and Colby’s apartment and sent me this photo for Marty’s! ❤️
May 11, 2022. This meme has been around for a while, but it’s showing up again because…it’s as ridiculous as men making decisions about women’s healthcare.
May 8, 2022. Happy Mother’s Day! I must be the luckiest mom in the world to have these three kids; could not be more happy/proud to call them mine. ❤️ Although we weren’t together today, I talked to all of them and felt very loved. Took a nice walk with Roger this afternoon and even had time to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond!
May 7, 2022. Happy Birthday to Peter! This photo is from 1981, when we decided to skip my actual graduation ceremony at UCONN (it was hot and it would have been crowded, boring, and long…) and instead had a ceremony in our front yard. Peter presented me with my diploma while toddler Hilary observed from the front step. Deb, Tim, and my parents were also there and it was so much fun!
May 5, 2022. This “self-drive work platform”, also known as a lift, has been around our complex for the past few days. Workers have been fixing siding and roofs and I very nearly came eye-to-eye with them as I changed the sheets in our guest room. Also, did you know those stabilizer bars sticking out from each corner are called outriggers? I’ve learned such things from my 3-year-old, a construction vehicle expert.
May 4, 2022. After what felt like hours of playing with blocks and legos and construction vehicles with my 3-year-old, these blocks just kinda fell into place and described my general outlook.
May 3, 2022. We have a good supply of Covid tests and all were free. We can make an appointment at a state testing site to pick up home tests (8/visit, but no limit on visits, apparently) and now 8/month through Medicare!
April 28, 2022. I’m 65 today! Had a lovely day with my newest baby; her parents gave me these beautiful chocolates. Had calls/texts/ messages from all my favorite people and Roger and I got some delicious flatbread pizza for dinner, followed by delicious cupcakes from the market near us. All in all, a wonderful day!
April 27, 2022. When I got to work today, there was a heated discussion between the 5-year-old and his dad. The kid wanted to take this book to preschool for a little light reading at nap/rest time. His dad thought it might be too scary for the other kids to see. The compromise: he had to keep it inside another larger book so the cover wouldn’t be visible. I told Roger it reminded me of reading MAD Magazine in junior high, hiding it inside a textbook.
April 26, 2022. Happy Birthday to Hilary! I don’t have any recent photos, so lifted these from the one-a-day photo calendar from Kitty ❤️. I helped take care of Hilary when she was a baby and now she’s a mom to these three incredible kids. Love them all!
