hot artists in Italy right now #1 : sangiovanni

If you follow Italian influencers or random italian people on ig, chances are you may have accidentally listened to 15 seconds of sangiovanni's hit songs.

sangiovanni, often shortened as sangio (in case you're wondering, yes, everything's written in lowercase), is a 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Vicenza. He took part in the latest edition of Amici (a very popular Italian talent show), and although he didn't win, his songs have become so popular that they're currently ranking on top of the Top 50 Italy Spotify chart.

His self-titled debut EP contains six tracks, 5 of which (lady, malibu, tutta la notte, guccy bag, hype) are the singles he promoted while being a contestant in Amici, while the last track, Maledetta Primavera, is a cover of a 1981 song by Loretta Gocci.

I can say his music is very catchy and somehow addictive, reasons why I'm pretty sure his hit songs "lady" and "malibu" will become huge summer hits here in Italy.
