Extremely Detailed Character Sheet Template
Hi! This is the actual character sheet that I use for my main characters! (My side characters usually get a much shorter one.) I will normally do this character sheet, write a lot of drabbles (or the entire first draft of the book *cough LnD cough*) and then re-do the character sheet once I get a better feel for who the character is. Characters tend to develop themselves as you write them, and it’s nice to keep this kind of information handy (and accurate to the current iteration!) while writing.
These questions are kind of an amalgamation of questionnaires I’ve found online and questions I felt needed answering for my own characters. Feel free to copy/paste this into your doc or reblog and fill it out! (Under a readmore tag please, it’s a very long questionnaire lol)

✟  What’s good yall, this is ANTOINE CARTER and below the cut are some background plot points for him. If you don’t want to read all that, the short version is that he’s a dude trying to provide for himself after falling out pretty bad with his family. He’s now trying to navigate adulthood and make the choices that align him with where he wishes to be, even if he doesn’t quite know where that is yet. If you’d like to plan a connection or two hit up the IMs and we’ll chat.
Tumblr media
↳ Name : Antoine (An -Twan) Carter
↳ Age : Twenty-three
↳ Occupation : Freelance Artist (Photography and Graphic Art)
↳ Location: Leimert Park
                                                                        ••••
↳   Character Inspo: Franklin \\ Snowfall , Caine \\ Menace ll Society , Sonder Son by Brent Faiyaz. (will add more later)
↳ Personality: Ant is usually the dude propped up in a corner with his sketchbook and a blunt, cracking a joke here and there to add to the conversation. He can come off as quiet, though he’s just incredibly observant and takes him a minute to warm up to his surroundings, even if he’s with people he knows. While he may not be the one you go to for advice (logic overrides his compassion most times), you’d definitely want him around if you need any other sort of support. If nothing else, Ant is down for the people he loves; his loyalty is probably his best and worst attribute of all.
↳ Zodiac: Gemini Sun, Pisces Moon, Scorpio Rising
                                                             ••••
✟ From birth, dysfunction and drama was the norm for Ant. Not only was he born and raised in South Central, but the inside of his home was a battle ground of it’s own. His mother tried her hardest to shield her son from his father’s wrongdoings, but it was hard to hide from the obvious. Most nights his father was more inclined to run the streets than to be the man of his household, though that didn’t stop Ant from admiring his father regardless.
✟ Despite his mother’s best efforts, Ant stays surrounded by the same influences she wanted him to avoid. A considerable amount of his childhood friends grew to be gang affiliated, and because of what he considers to be loyalty, he doesn’t plan on letting any of them go. He’d rather do hood shit with his friends (his brothers) than tell any of them to kick it elsewhere.
✟ Ant’s acceptance into college caught even him by surprise, as it was something he did to appease his mother - he never thought they’d actually let him in. Everyone kept telling him how lucky he was to have a chance at higher learning, though Ant wasn’t convinced. After his first year, he figured it wasn’t for him and decided to take a year off before returning -- though that year turned into two before he officially dropped out.
✟ When it came to him leaving college, his mother was the last to know. Ant was afraid of disappointing her so he kept her out of the loop, until one of her nosy ass neighbors let her know about his whereabouts. It’s been about a year since the two of them fell out (link); during which, she gave him an ultimatum: re-enroll in classes and stay at home, or continue fucking around and be cut off from his family. Stubborn as all hell, Antoine refused to return to college, and that was the last time they spoke. He still leaves an occasional voicemail or rides by the house to make sure she’s good, but he knows she’s serious about kicking him out this time so he’s trying to respect her wishes.
✟ Currently, Ant’s been picking up work here and there and making money off commissions when he can. He’s crashing with a friend of his until he can get his own place at some point down the line. He’s trying to figure out a balance between himself, his family, and his friends -- it’s tough right now but he hopes he’ll sort this shit out eventually.
✟ All plots are welcome ofc! His childhood friends are npc’s right now, though i’d love for him to have that sort of connection to write out. As far as relationships go, he’s lived in LA his entire life and while he can seem anti-social, I can see him knowing a good handful of folks, especially if they’ve lived in the same hood.

Theo Rossi photographed by Nate Taylor for Parade, May 2017
When I started out in this business, everybody wanted to be film stars. I started off, like a lot of young actors, doing a lot of television. I think at one point I guest starred on every TV show on the air. Sons came along right at the beginning of the golden age of television. It was right when The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead were all coming on, and we were all hitting at the same time. It was the beginning of what we’re living in now. I felt like in a way that Sons was almost equal to me doing five great films. I also feel like Luke Cage has capitalized so much on what Sons had set up. Now that I’m on Netflix with Marvel, and to be on the number one show on Netflix in Luke Cage, it’s like cable television 2.0. I’ve been very lucky and very fortunate in my decisions and in the people who wanted me to be with them with things like Sons and Luke Cage.

Where you are… I’ve been there. I recognize it. I have spent time there. But now you have to climb out. You need a line, a rationale, a story you can tell yourself. It doesn’t matter what it is, it doesn’t even have to be true so long as you believe it. So long as it allows you to forgive yourself. Find that line. Find it, grab ahold of it, and use it to pull yourself up and out of the darkness.
