Alexander Hamilton got flak from the other aides for not knowing apple types. I can only imagine what they did when Hamilton showed up the day after Von Steuben’s party, clearly hungover. At least Laurens probably suffered with him. But still, I bet they threw things at him and talked unnecessarily loudly.

Hiatus!!!
Hey, I know I’m super low activity anyway, but starting tomorrow I have band camp and that’s until next TUESDAY. I thus only have my phone, no WiFi, and so I really won’t be prioritising Tumblr in my little to no free time. Thanks for understanding!

“In contrast to Hamlet, Orestes goes mad after he murders them.”
Me, to Orestes: be more like hamlet (or even amleth)

                “Was I not clear enough?”
Laughter escapes from Alex’s lips, something far from common what with how busy he always finds himself. “I, Alexander Hamilton, am trying to flirt with you, Caleb Brewster.” He pauses, humming. “Now where’s that bottle, again?”
“I’m trying to flirt with you.” -musemuckle, Alexander Hamilton (drunk??? who knows)
Caleb looks up, surprised, then glances around to make sure they haven’t been overheard. “…You what?”

Haven’t we all, Brewster? I was born by sin, even, a bastard son!
Sins seem to make the best of men, do they not? Wouldn’t you agree, Benjamin?
unshaven-insane:

My POINT is that if I were truly that loud, I would have been discovered and hanged, I shouldn’t have to SPELL THIS OUT.
Caleb, none of this is the Good Colonel’s business. Don’t encourage him.
Aw, come on! Men like us oughta stick together, don’t you think?
‘Men like us’ seems very… indicative of a community or else a lack of sin and wrongdoing, doesn’t it? Doesn’t truly fit our choices and habits Lieutenant.
Major Tallmadge. Ben. Benjamin. If you continue to scream your head off about your illicit activities, then you will indeed be caught and hanged. Mind keeping a bit quieter?

Most men are asleep at that hour, Major, do not be ridiculous and assume that you would be dead. Any man awake at that hour likely has indulged himself as well.
I am sure you are both aware that I have, occasionally, even.

THAT WILL BE ENTIRELY UNNECESSARY. PERHAPS A REMEDY LIES IN A CERTAIN GENTLEMEN NOT LURKING ROUND OTHER OFFICER’S TENTS, BUT GO OFF I GUESS
THIS GENTLEMAN DOES NOT LURK NEARBY ANY TENTS, HOWEVER IN THE VERY EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING ‘TIS VERY QUIET AND ONE CAN HEAR MUCH ABOVE THE SCRATCHING OF HIS OWN QUILL UPON PARCHMENT.
especially when he recognizes sounds from personal experiences
They won’t hear you if you put a handkerchief in your mouth, Benny.
he’s right you know

WELL
HAMILTON’S JOB, MAJOR, IS TO KNOW ALL OF THE GOINGS-ON IN CAMP SO THAT HE CAN MORE ACCURATELY FORGE WRITE LETTERS IN WASHINGTON’S HAND. THUS
IN THAT REGARD
HE MUST KNOW ALL GOOD DAY
with respect, Sir, You are Most Esteemed and also
COMPLETELY FULL OF SHIT.
YOUR COMPLAINT HAS BEEN NOTED, SIR, AND IT SHALL BE ADDED TO THE LIST OF CAMP GRIEVANCES WHICH WASHINGTON  ALWAYS ENJOYS LOOKING OVER FOR CERTAIN NAMES DOES NOT CARE MUCH ABOUT

Alexander Hamilton would like to make a formal complaint that Benjamin Tallmadge occasionally makes quite a bit of noise in his tent late into the night. Alexander Hamilton does not sleep and knows all.
