he didn't care about other girls? truly? really honestly truly? that made her feel a little better about not being able to spend more time with him. she knows how busy his schedule is; plus he has to keep a low profile after all to avoid drawing too much attention to himself. though it didn't make it easier when she had free time and wanted to spend it with him. still, being able to talk with his shinigami was a fun treat too. to think this whole time shinigami truly existed!

" you know Ryuk, if he's a god then does that make you his guardian angel? I think you'd make a great angel... " she muses in response. she had so many questions she wanted to ask, but she was sure Rem would fill her in on all the boring stuff Ryuk didn't tell her. " I wonder... why did you choose Light? did you see his potential from the start? " after all, if Gelus chose her to protect and thus drew Rem's attention to her, why wouldn't the same logic apply for him and Light?

And wasn't that a funny thought, it was just another proof of how lucky Ryuk was, the fact he got the strangest young human of them all. Rem had gotten the cutest one though, so maybe they both had beem lucky in some way.

doing a dtiys for another artist that is taking up all my time, but i think it, like, choked me into figuring out how to color. so if my art looks like it got dunked in a buncha multiply, overlay, difference layers? its because it has.

if he looked this bad she was sure the 'other guy' was probably dead. or very close to it. but that wasn't her concern right now. her concern was him. especially after he said something as stupid as 'don't need a first aid kit'. " like hell you don't! have you seen yourself? I am not letting you bleed out on my couch, Tiger! so you better stop talking like that right this minute! " she frets, making her way quickly into the kitchen and pulling the kit out from under the sink. an easy and close spot to grab should any one turtle or otherwise come seeking aid.

she kneels down beside him, propping the box on the cushion beside him as she pulls loose a disinfectant wipe to start cleaning up the worst of the injuries. she wasn't sure why it scared her so much to see him like this; she's seen her fair share of injuries in the past, but maybe because it was him. or because he could have gone anywhere but chose her that made her so especially concerned. concerned enough to forget his codename, even. " now, please, show me the worst ones. we should treat those first before we look at the smaller scrapes. " she says firmly but gently. " it's going to sting but it won't be nearly as painful as what... injured... " she trails off a bit, looking at some of the wounds that just moments ago had been bleeding far worse. she blames it as a trick of the light; he had claws as his mutation. not a healing factor. maybe she just got the spot wrong?

she does not hesitate to bring her hands along his arms, checking out the injuries and trailing up to his chest as she examines the cuts closer. " ... are you ok? "

" Logan! " she cannot help but exclaim with worry, her heart leaping into her throat as she quickly finds herself at his side before her brain can catch up. her hands are already taking one of his, emerald eyes looking for the source of the blood or worse the sources. she doesn't care if she gets covered in blood too; right now he was injured. she is pulling gently on his hand as she practically drags him towards her couch; though a part of her knows she could never actually pull him along if he did not want to go. " what happened? who did this? I have a first aid kit in the kitchen, you don't move and keep applying pressure to the worst ones. do you need me to call someone? don't move. " she insists, level headed even though her heart was beating like a hummingbird in worry for him. she is already starting to move to the kitchen before she even finishes speaking. she wasn't about to let him bleed out on her watch!

her hands cling tight to his shirt as she buries her face into his chest. his words bring comfort but they do not stop her tears. not right now. not when her wounds were still so fresh and her heart so heavy. none of them deserve this. what was so wrong about wanting to be themselves? why were they being punished for the crime of honesty? wasn't that supposed to be a virtue? still, her sobs slowly start to fade as she once again hides away from the world. it was safer to hide away her heart ; it hurt less when she kept her heart sealed away.

maybe her parents were right. maybe she was a monster and she deserved all of this pain. if she had just behaved she never would have met any of them... but... then she wouldn't have met them. she wouldn't have found her real family. her brothers and sister. everyone who made her feel real again and who made her know what it was like to be loved for herself instead of what she pretended to be.

" I want it to hurt... " she sniffles, looking up at him. " I want them all to hurt... we have to finish this. for Jin... for Kenji. for all of us... they showed their hand. I wanna show ours. I wanna make them all bleed... "

All of this was just one set up after another. A cruel joke fired at them from behind a glass. Sneers and talons digging in only caused more fortiude in the belief they never would be equal. Nor understood.
