“Do De Rubber Duck” was written by Christopher Cerf and Norman Stiles for season 18 of Sesame Street (1986). The song features Ernie (Jim Henson) singing about a new dance with a “reggae beat,” that you do with your rubber duckie. Ernie’s joined in the song by a number of various Sesame Street regulars, including Telly Monster (Martin P. Robinson), Oscar the Grouch (Caroll Spinney), Kermit the frog (Jim Henson), Count Von Count (Jerry Nelson), and a number of others.

“Grandma’s Feather Bed” was written by Jim Connor in 1974. It made its Muppet debut being sung by John Denver in season 4, episode 1 of The Muppet Show (1979). Denver sings the song to a group of Muppet kids all crammed into grandma’s bed.

“An Old Fashioned Love Song” was written by Paul Williams in 1971. The song made its muppet debut in season 1, episode 8 of The Muppet Show (1978). The song was performed by Paul Williams alongside two Paul Williams muppets (both voiced by Williams), Jerry the guitar player for the country trio (Jerry Nelson), and the Gogolala Jubilee Jugband which was comprised of Zeke with the banjo (either Richard Hunt or Jerry Nelson, likely Hunt in this case), Jake with the kazoo (Peter Friedman), Eben with the jug (Dave Goelz), Clyde with the trumpet (usually Frank Oz, but according to the person who uploaded this video John Lovelady is puppeteering him here), and Annie (Eren Ozker). The person who uploaded this video said that if you look closely you can briefly see Dave Goelz and John Lovelady with their puppets, I have not been able to catch it though!

“Lost and Found” was written by Philip Balsam and Dennis Lee for season 1 of Fraggle Rock (1983). The song was sung by the five lead Fraggles; Mokey (Kathryn Mullen), Gobo (Jerry Nelson) Wembley (Steve Whitmire), Red (Karen Prell), and Boober (Dave Goelz), about how sometimes you don’t appreciate something until after it’s been lost.

“Brush Up Your Shakespeare” was written by Cole Porter for the 1948 musical, Kiss Me Kate. It made its Muppet debut in season 4, episode 18 of The Muppet Show (1980). The song is sung by Christopher Reeve, Fozzie (Frank Oz), Link Hogthrob (Jim Henson), and a skull named Yorick (played here by Jerry Nelson, not to be confused with the Sam and Friends character of the same name). Together the group sings about how the way to a woman’s heart is Shakespeare, or more accurately his mispronounced play titles.

Calling all Paul William fans… *cricket sounds*… aw man.

“For What It’s Worth” was written by Stephen Stills in 1967. The song made its Muppet debut in season 2, episode 21 of The Muppet Show (1977). The song is sung by a group of woodland animals, led by an opossum (Jerry Nelson). Some of the verses of the song were rewritten to be against hunting, but the writer of these new lyrics was never credited.

“The Elmo Slide” was written by Bill Sherman and Judy Freudberg for season 41 of Sesame Street (2010). The song (which is a reference to the Cha-Cha Slide) is sung by Elmo (Kevin Clash), showing people how to do his dance.

“Don’t Sugar Me” was written by Norman Monath and Walt Kelly in 1956. The song was first performed on Sam and Friends, and performed again in season 1, episode 22 of The Muppet Show (1976). In the later rendition, the song is performed by a miniature Miss Mousey (Jerry Nelson) in a tea pot, who is being watched by Statler (Richard Hunt) and Waldorf (Jim Henson).

Late Friday, the Writers Guild of America confirmed that the writers at Sesame Workshop have reached a new five-year contract with the company. The negotiation company said in regards to the news:

“We are so proud to work for an organization that values its writers, and we believe this new contract will positively impact writers throughout the children’s media landscape. ‘S’ truly is for Solidarity. We are glad to have a contract in place that allows Sesame to do what it does best – lead."

A spokeswoman for Sesame Workshop said:

"This agreement is a testament to our dedication to our creative talent, and we appreciate the WGA’s collaboration in working with us to establish this new industry benchmark."

“We’ll Sing in the Sunshine” was written by Gale Garnett in 1964. It made its muppet debut in season 3, episode 13 of The Muppet Show (1978). It was sung by Helen Reddy alongside a dancing camel, apparently named Sopwith the Camel (Jerry Nelson).
