When Scully met him in season 11, Jackson was aware that he was adopted. But at some point he heard about his adoption for the first time, and then or at a later point he also discovered that his adopted parents had changed his name. Write us a story that focuses on how he felt about that.

The X-Files 3rd Movie challenge

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to write your version of the third X-Files movie, as a story (not a screenplay, oh please, not as a screenplay); this is what you would most like to see as a plot of a third movie should one ever be filmed. And your story/movie must contain either a child ages 0-19 or a pregnant character. Other than that requirement, you’re free to imagine anything you’d like as a plot to the next X-Files movie. Think big, though, and movie-like.

And while you are required to set your story after I Want to Believe, it’s up to you whether or not seasons 10-11 have also happened. Include them, AU them away, your choice.

A Reflection Upon Two Birthdays Challenge

Your challenge is to write a story that contains 2 specific scenes: one set on William’s first birthday, and one on his 22nd birthday. While you can also include a scene of William celebrating his birthday with the Van de Kamps, your task is to write a first birthday scene from Scully’s point of view…and also from her point of view twenty-one years later, when her son turns 22. How does she feel on each of these milestone days? Note: you do not need to make the 22nd birthday scene a happily reunited scene. If it suits your tale, you can have Scully and William still estranged.

Your challenge is to write about three weddings post-series that all happen the same day, and only two of them go smoothly.

Requirements:

One of the happy couples is Mulder and Scully, and their children are naturally part of the wedding party – is baby Mulder still en utero, or the flower girl or ring bearer?

The other happy couple is either another X-Files character(s) and their significant other, or two original characters.

The unhappy couple, who will have their wedding interrupted by a literal alien invasion (no cheating!) is your least favorite character and their spouse-to-be. Dig them up from the grave if necessary, we’re sure you’ll offer a plausible reason they’re alive and marrying.

You can write this story as a comedy or a sci-fi thriller. It’s up to you if this is meant to be a farce or an epic invasion fic.

Your challenge is to write us a story about Alex Krycek being tasked by the Consortium to head a family as a cover for his spy activities.

Give him a “wife” of your choosing, someone we know or someone you create. And give him at least one child. The child can be borrowed, stolen, or if this assignment is very long in duration born.

And give the assignment an end date. Does he walk away in relief? Or does he fight to keep his sort-of family?

You can use any time frame for your story, even setting it season nine or later if you like.

William's 13th Birthday Challenge

Your challenge: If the invasion date Mulder found at Mount Weather was correct, the invasion began in December of 2012. And if William survived it, he’s turning 13 nearly a year and a half later.

Is May of 2014 a time of peace after the invasion was defeated? Or is it a time of life turned upside down under alien occupation?

Custody Unexpected Challenge

Write us a story in which a male X-Files character agrees to be a sperm donor for a friend and the friend's spouse. The baby is born and he signs the baby over to the happy couple with no regrets...

But when something tragic happens to his friends later on, he unexpectedly ends up raising the child he never expected to be a real father to. Soon after the child’s birth he agreed to be his/her guardian if something happened, but he never expected anything to go wrong, so never planned for any of the things he's facing. Now what?

The Ugly Little Boy Challenge

Although this challenge borrows its title from Isaac Asimov, your task is not to write about a neanderthal child. Instead, you’ll write your tale about two people: a fiercely protective mother and her young human/alien hybrid son. Her determination will come in handy when her little boy draws attention from those she least wants to know about him.

If your mom isn’t an X-Files character herself, be sure that her path crosses with one or more of them.

Their Undesirable Friend Challenge

As many parents will tell you, one test of parenting is when your child brings home a friend who rubs you the wrong way. They’re a bad influence, and you really don’t want them hanging around your kid. But do you put your foot down and risk having your child cling to their friend even more?

Write us a story about when Mulder is put into this position…when his son or daughter brings home a friend who is out of this world. Literally.
