This didn't feel like something that he did, felt like it was born our of personal insecurity. Not that it was altogether a bad thing, everybody had their insecurities. In that way no one was special. "Who asked you to be Josie? If she was who I wanted then she would be who I was with."

"Funny how often you've said that, not weak, not fragile," he said quietly as if by lowering his voice some she wouldn't be able to make it out. This wasn't the first time that she had argued when he said that he was weak. Her arguing had never changed and he always felt as if he was a liability, the only thing he had to offer was distraction, and sacrifice. And that concerned her more than him just being normal, when they'd thought he was normal. "I'm not saying that I think there is someone but there are real reasons for you to go if you one day made up your mind to. Sometimes . . . it's just one of those thoughts that creeps in."
"Of course I'm afraid that one of these days you won't come back," Hope told him, shaking her head a little bit. "Nature keeps things in BALANCE and that means that eventually, an immortal can die. Hell, I can die," Hope reminded him, chewing on her lip before she looked him in the eye. She didn't like this conversation for a whole slew of reasons, the biggest being what he had just said to her. "Landon, you are not fragile. You're not. Also, why would you think that there is ANY reason that I would want someone other than YOU?"
