coming home to water seven after what he did, it was the hardest thing he's done. seeing the people who had once trusted him look at him with such distaste, so much hatred, and he understood, he hated himself.
paulie was the one he went to the most after he came back, he didn't want to lose what they had, he wanted to repair what he could and work on their relationship once more. he knew it was going to take time, he knew it wasn't going to be fixed over night, but once he got the feeling that he could mend the broken pieces--he had hope again.

a hand would rest on the swordsman's shoulder, rubbing zoro's muscles to get out any kinks that would be there as he shook his head when questioned if he needed anything.
"just wanted to be close to you," is what he answered back. "you're getting better at what i taught you." he complimented, sure there was a lot to work on still, but zoro was still a novice when it came to yoga. in either case, he wanted to give zoro some praise for the work he was doing.

he wants to be rid of his demons, but every time he looks at himself he knows there's no changing what he's done. every time he looks at his hands all he can see is the blood that he's shed for the world government.

ears started to grow into those of a giraffe's as kaku listened to his surroundings. good, the voices of the marines were getting farther away, kaku could let down his guard a little bit as he turned back to the reindeer who was cowering away from him.
"trying to not get caught," he would answer chopper as the ears sinked back into his head, being replaced with his human ones.
chopper quickly covered his mouth with his little hooved hands. it was the only way to quieten himself. but after a moment he could move them away again without fear of let out another cry.
❝ what are you doing here?! ❞ he demanded, taking a step back.
