I'm just saying,,, the idea of being able to force open the shadowfell portal again if it closes on Halsin makes me feel a certain way. Like

You should 100% be able to try and keep it open- whether it be by your magic or strength alone, y'know?

Like imagine playing a druid and straining, begging for the oak father to keep it open, to save Halsin and Thaniel, trying to reinforce it with vines, you know? Knowing how important Thaniel is, how important Halsin is- that they need to make it back, no matter what.

Or a barbarian or fighter and the moment the portal threatens to close, striving to keep it open with your strength alone, feeling the edges of the magic waning on your fingers as you put yourself in the portal to keep it up-

Or a sorcerer??? Oh my god imagine a sorcerer using all the magic you've ever known, all the magic you possibly could to force it back open, to keep it stable- the panic of seeing it threaten to snap shut despite you using every inch of your being, all your power to try and keep it open for longer.

Like in my mind the scene had so much potential for connection with Halsin, if his romance/companion status was more like that of the others.

Like imagine going at it as Durge too??? Like imagine the Durge needing to struggle to keep themself from destroying the portal- the urge singing sweet melodies to them that keeping Thaniel trapped in the shadowfell will bring about more death and decay- imagine being able to rush forward and help pull Halsin through, tired and struggling to get past the portal with Thaniel, and having to fight the urge to push him back through-

i’ve had a post sitting in my drafts for a while about how these newer seasons are so … heteronormative. (sure, it's based on a show that's exclusively straight couples, but look at games like too hot to handle)

i probably won’t ever post it, but basically i figure that FB is trying to appease not just a straight, but homophobic straight audience. the last openly bi male islander was in season 4

that’s further solidified by the reaction to hari . you don’t have to like him, or think he's attractive . it’s understandable to hate him if you’re on a loyal route, but there’s really people out here saying he “looks gay,” as if that’s a bad thing . not to mention the fucking obvious, that appearance and hobbies ≠ sexuality

it's just so disappointing to see this from the fandom. whether he’s straight or not, i really hope that FB doesn't view this childish ass "feedback" as a reason to not bother with diverse (and gender nonconforming) islanders in their game

This is messy af idea and I’m not on a Theo route and technically Oakley ain’t the type to do this. HOWEVER, it is messy of Theo to just be like “I want to put it out there I want to connect with MC (Chiffon) while girl is loved up with Oakley right before she about to get her back blowed out in the Hideaway.

So in BG3 I wasn’t aware that bc somehow my dumbass missed seeing Astarion on the Beach and Wyll in the Grove and didn’t recruit them until after I saved Halsin and the Grove and Tiefling but had them in my party by the time I started the quest party with the Tieflings that it fr kicked me off romance.

Like I deadass only had Gale, L’zael, and Shadowheart but I didn’t want them. Meanwhile though I kept cycling through them for the rest of Act 1 and far into Act 2 where I’m am. I’ve gotten NO ROMANCE.

And I know I have to talk to them and flirt but I had little to options to do so. Hell I would’ve taken a Wyll scene to hold me Astarion then prepare me for my Oak Daddy.

I deadass just want spicy content but ZIP, NADA. “Thus is alone” word to Withers 😭😭😫 . I feel like it’s ass I locked out on it tbh. But to be fair, I’ve been aiming for Halsin anyway. I plan to get him once I finish up Act 2 today but I just wondered if this happened to anyone else who’s new to the game and first playthrough.
