FINAL REFLECTION
My CAS experience has been really varied in activities; I feel that I have done a lot of things that I am proud of and that I will continue to do once my CAS experience is over. Most importantly, the implementation of CAS into the IB program was essential for my self-development; it prompted me and motivated to engage into new projects, undertake various challenges and take care of myself and my life outside of school. Seeing how much I have developed and changed, as well as noticing how many wonderful things I have done during the past three years is extremely motivating. I am happy to be reminded of my progress and some wonderful memories every time I open this log.
The greatest challenge that I have undertaken during my CAS experience was documenting my work and reflecting back on it - most of the things that constitute of my CAS I would do anyway; I love helping people and doing something significant for the overall population; I strive to be more and more educated on global issues and engage into solving them and prompting people to reconsider ethics of some of their choices; I have learnt to be more mindful about my health, movement, being independent. I think all of this is a process of growing up, however, engaging in CAS allowed me to reflect on my activities and appreciate everything that I am taking from them and people that support me throughout this journey. Documenting my out-of-school activities taught me how to be more conscientious and open-minded to new experiences. I am proud of my work with Basia; I am proud to e taking part in women’s strikes; I am proud to cook for my family; I am proud to be taking care of my health and develop in areas that I love and see myself working in, such as acting. I will always be grateful for being prompted into documenting my development while reflecting on it, so that I can look back and realize how far I have come.

2. Evidence of identification of strengths and areas for personal growth (LO1).

Firstly, a CAS experience that helped me identify my strengths and areas for personal growth took place in Italy during a ski trip with my family and friends; I have been skiing since I can remember, however, specifically this time on the slopes, teaching my mother and brother certain techniques, as well as beating my records when it comes to both speed and distance. It has prompted me to apply for an instructor course, so that I can teach people how to ski during winter time.

Secondly, another CAS experience that helped me identify my strengths and areas for personal growth is strictly connected to what I want to do in the future - acting in film, theatre, new media. In order to understand more about camera work and the process of production, which would allow me to be a better to work with actor. In order to do that I wrote a script, filmed and edited a 10 minute movie all by myself. It was not a very advanced production, however, it allowed me to practice my abilities in various areas and develop as an actor.

As a part of my CAS experience, I have been developing creating writing both in Polish and in English. I have always been writing for myself, but mostly in Polish; when I joined the IB program, I found more space to develop my writing skills in English.

Since as an IB student I lead a sedentary lifestyle, I have decided to develop new skills and undertake new challenges in sports - I have been training either at the gym or on my own systematically in order to build muscle and better my health.

The second movie project that I have done with the same director and musician (my friends) was planned in a very detailed way; we created everything from scratch and organized all the props and technical tools. Overall, finalizing the project took over 2 months, whereas the created movie in „only” 5 minutes long.

The trip that I had with my friends was also an extremely well planned one, as we had to find a different place to stay every night and pick our route beforehand; we also had to pack very thoroughly and took a course on how to repair bikes in case any accident happens on the road.

My experience in working with Basia Bagorro is my longest CAS experience - it took 2 years. I was working with her during both PRE-IB and IB1. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and the fact that I moved far away from her, we were not able to continue.

This was the first movie that I created with my director and our musician. It was a demanding project, where only our strengths combined could make it a whole. This short move was a huge success for a first collaborative project of our newly formed group’s creation - we won/were finalists in a couple of festivals.

This is probably the biggest collaborative project I was a part of - not only have I written an essay to this book along my peers and inspiring adults, but I also took part in an online debate and a photoshoot promoting this wonderful book.

Service #36
Today we talked about animal shelters. I own a dog, however, we bought her from a breeder due to having to pick a dog with hair and not fur (we are all allergic). Even though I wanted to take a dog from the shelter, we were not able to because of our health condition. This presentantion reminded me that this is a specifically difficult time for abandoned animals. Thus, my mother and I will plan a trip and see if there are any dogs we could adopt or at least donate.

Creativity #36
After two months of writing scripts, organizing all the technicalities and thinking every cut through, finally a movie of my co-creation came to an actual life - we had two shooting days, each 10 hours long, during which we filmed all of the scenes. Our friend and director of the project will be further editing everything and our musician will put together a track that will fit our idea. It is amazing how unique everyone’s talent is and how the combination of talents can create something so beautiful and full of potential. I am beyond grateful to be able to work with people who are such visionary individuals. These people teach me new things and I teach them; we have such different perspectives on so many topics, yet we still manage to compromise and use these differences to create something even better. I am also extremely happy to be working with the same group of people once again, striving for festivals and recognition as long as we will have to.

During today’s Animal Rights Faculty we discussed the endangernment of the grey wolf. I was actually familiar with this topic, as my grandparents live in an area that is famous for the presence of this species.

Activity #35
Today the weather was so beautiful, that I took a long walk with my family near Centrum, Vistula River and Stadion Narodowy. It was an amazing activity, as for the first time in a longer while I have felt Spring approaching and it made me feel very hopeful.

Creativity #35
This is the biggest collaborative project I have ever been a part of. A friend and a former teacher of mine, Jarek Szulski, wanted to create his third book by not only speaking his truth, but also giving space for young people and specialists to speak their mind in regards to polish educational system. I wrote an essay to this book, took part in a photoshoot promoting this piece and also debated during an online event on what young people might need during their educational years. It was an amazing experience that has taught me a lot and made me realize the power of collaboration once again.

I am still continuing my running journey! I used to document my workouts, but I stopped as it became not healthy for me. Now I run to music for as long as I feel like, having my own route that I can enjoy in the evening.

As Christmas time is approaching and it is one of the saddest one due to lockdown, we decided to bake a lot of gingerbreads, so that we can send it to all of our family members that we would normally spend Christmas with. It was a lot of fun and took a lot of work, but it was worth it. They turned out to be delicious and our family members loved it and were touched by the gesture.

During this Animal Rights faculty we dicussed the topic of rhinos and the ways in which they are protected as engangered species. I love this faculty as it brings my attention to matters I would otherwise not be made aware of.

As my cousin announced her engagement, we decided to safely celebrate during a long, two-hour walk in Łazienki Królweskie. It was a great bonding time for all of us and motivated us to still get out of the house even when the weather is not specifically welcoming.

I decided to try to prepare fungi for the first time. Every week I am trying to do something delicious and vegetarian/vegan for my family to show them not only the benefits of not eating meat in regards to environment but also regarding cousine.

Service & Activity #32
I went to a couple of strikes; during most of them I walked many kilometers (from Centrum to Plac Wilsona). It was a safely experienced march containing pro-abortion slogans, dancing and sharing stories. It is not what media pictures the strikes to be - violent and aggressive. This occurence made me not only realize how not respectful of human rights our world still is, but also helped me understand and see for myself the strength that a group believieng in the same thing holds. I am beyond grateful to be able to share such experiences with my beloved close ones and to see that some of us are still able to put the needs of the free society before their own health.
