"The most reblogged post on tumblr" is an infamous post from the reblog editing era.

Originally made by Tumblr user inthemidstofmonsters on or around December 28th, 2011, the post contained an image that was subsequently removed for violating Tumblr's Community Guidelines regarding self harm content.

For one reason or another, the post became popular to edit using the reblog editing feature that was removed around 2015, and it began to be manipulated ad infinitum by other users. Some added messages like "Reblog if music saved you", "Reblog if Homestuck", "Reblog if you're a witch or a wizard"; others added jokes, such as "There's only one image on Tumblr with 13 million notes", and "Let's make Dean in gym shorts the most reblogged image on Tumblr"

These edits went on to spread as seemingly their own unique posts, garnering up to 15 million notes, with many people convinced that the unique version of the post that they saw was the only version, and that this post really just was that popular.

Until the formatting of posts changed, it was very difficult to track down alternative versions of the post unless they came across your dashboard naturally, and now after a decade of code updates and the 2017 NSFW blog purge, many versions are either lost entirely, or glitched to the point of being literally unrebloggable, leading to the effective death of many of the most reblogged post's offspring.

Currently, the main version of the post sits at around 11 million notes. Due to some server-side glitches, some offshoot versions show as having different numbers, but it takes very little research to verify that they too originated from the most reblogged post.

This blog exists to archive as many offshoots of the post as possible, to help carry on the incredible legacy of the most reblogged post on tumblr.
