we have tour news!
Hello there!
Thanks for visiting us here!
We are delighted to finally have released our album out into the world, for a while there it felt a bit like we were the only ones who were ever going to hear it...
oh it’s fun when your impatient excitement turns into confused delusion! Despite a dose of something similar to going completely stir crazy , the whole process was an absolute pleasure, and we were lucky enough to get a hold of our good friend Kate, our photographer/visual artist extroardinare to capture some tid-bits from our time up at Airlock Studio's with her wonderful array of cameras as evidence of our hard work and good times, which you guys can have a nosey at right here  - with more to come! (it also helps convince my mother that I didn’t just move to Australia to bum around and drink beer on the beach, which doesn’t happen anywhere near as often as people living in Scotland choose to believe if you are living in Brisbane and can’t drive). And thus we are hitting the road again...or the tarmac as the case more often is these days, to play some tunes for you lovely peoples of New South Wales and Victoria before the year wraps up……(as well as our Brisbane lot) and this time we will come armed with our Vinyl! Which we are all freakin' delighted about! Lovely to finally see the beautiful artwork by Jonathan Key on a vinyl sized canvas! We will have cd’s and all of the other merch trimmings too, but more importantly we hope to see you there if you are around! You can find all of the details for our upcoming shows below... Thanks for reading!Robyn

TRY YOUR LUCK
Telling the tale of a chance meeting with a love interest, ‘Try Your Luck’ is a dream-pop anthem and the only song on the album to feature all four of the band’s vocalists together. The crooning baritone of Valdis Valodze is brightened by the vocals of Jackson Muir (guitar) and Robyn Dawson (violin) and harmony of Katarzyna Wiktorski (piano).
Listen to and share ‘Try Your Luck’HERE
“The instruments are chirpy, the vocals are moody and the breezy chorus will make you feel very good, which is an invaluable trait for a chorus to have.”
Double J on Mosman Alder’s ‘Try Your Luck’
‘Try Your Luck’is the second single from Mosman Alder’s debut album “Humdrum Star” which recorded under the guidance of producer Paul Dempsey (Something for Kate). The band have recently received rave reviews for their live sets supporting The Head and The Head on their Splendour in the Grass sideshows.
Praise for Mosman Alder “Humdrum Star”
“One of the finds of the year.”
★★★★ – The Music
“Mosman Alder are developing a distinct voice of their own.”
★★★★ – Noel Mengel, The Courier Mail
“‘Humdrum Star’ presents Mosman Alder at their best, a recorded summary of the reasons why they’re seen by many as Brisbane live music royalty.”
- AAA Backstage
‘Try Your Luck’ is available digitally now via Dew Process/Universal Music Australia. Download ‘Try Your Luck’ here

MOSMAN ALDER - BIGSOUND 2014 - ARTIST HIGHLIGHT
Words - Jel Rush
If two is company and three’s a crowd, then what, dare we ask, is six?
Well if six-piece Brisbane outfit Mosman Alder is any indication, six is a sure-fire recipe for indie success. Because Mosman Alder is pure musical escapism.
Like the more upbeat cousins of the Brit band Arthur Beatrice, Mosman Alder has cultivated a sound that is addictively hopeful. Theirs are the sort of foot-stomping tunes that totally transport you. Each track makes you want to take off your clothes and sing your heart out until the hills echo with the sound of Mosman Alders sweet music. ‘Germland’, a taster from their upcoming LP, is one such track. In it, endearing vocals, a tinkling piano and uplifting violins combine to liberate the listener. Like a musical anti-anxiety pill, this is a track that will soothe your nerves and boost your confidence – with varying results:
2000 words due by midnight? No wukkin furries, m8.
Job interview tomorrow? Go to sleep bae, you’re flawless.
Court summons for public nudity on account of above naked-hill-singing? Werk that prison jumpsuit, you smooth criminal, you.
Be sure to catch Mosman Alder at Bigsound, where they will be inflating crowds with a dangerously excessive sense of well-being. Alternately, you can inflate their sense of well-being by giving Mosman Alder a like: > https://www.facebook.com/MosmanAlder

GERMLAND
Hey there, Today we release our first single 'Germland (of Julien Charbonneau)' from our forthcoming record out later this year. We recorded the song at airlock studios with Paul Dempsey (Producer) and Yanto Browning (Engineer)
A little about this song: 'Germland' is the oldest song on the album and in many ways served as the catalyst for making the record. A couple years back now we were on a break traveling different parts overseas. Valdis had recorded a very raw demo whilst staying in a quiet town in Germany. He sent the demo to us all via the magic of the internet and as soon as we were all back in OZ we began working on it as a band. It became one of those songs over the years that for some reason we felt we had to rearrange it a million times until realising the first arrangement was probably the best. It happens.
Fun fact: the title of the song comes from a friend of ours Julien. We met Julien many years ago whilst he was over here visiting from Montreal. He is a total sweetheart, has an infectious smile and a 'free and easy' attitude that is just great to be around. He also did the artwork for our EP 'Burn Bright'. When Valdis was in Germany, they would talk and Julien would always ask 'how is Germland going? ' and shazam you have a song title.
Anyway, we are very proud of how it all turned out.
I hope y'all like it.
Lots of love Jackson and MA.

Latest News
It has been a long time coming for the release of our debut EP Burn Bright and to celebrate, we had a secret launch party last Friday night upstairs at Ric’s bar. We wanted to hold the event for family, friends and everyone who was involved with the production of the EP. The 25th of May was also our drummer Damian Wood’s birthday – so we had even more reason to celebrate.
Despite the fact that it was a private show I think a few photographers snuck in to get some shots of us playing and have posted them online: The AU Review.
Our wonderful and very talented friends from Contortionist Studios filmed and recorded the show  - hopefully we can show you some footage from the show soon! ‘Burn Bright’ is available at iTunes, Dew Process store, JB HIFI, Sanity and your local independent music store!
Our tour is coming up in June and we have just announced the talented bands who will be joining us for the shows!
Big Thanks to our Brisbane special guests The Trouble With Templeton + The Oyster Murders; our Melbourne special guests I, A Man + Lowlakes and our Sydney special guests The Fabergettes + Valar.

Tickets are only $10 and only available on the door – so get in early and make the most of this great lineup!
