Haven't updated in a while. I accidentally deleted my cookies and was too lazy to do account recovery (forgot the email/password I used), but I'm back! I promise to actually add something fashion related soon :)
On another note, had a dream last night about a particular person and having a morning of "feels". That ever happen to you?

More picture taken somewhere at 50 days+ as I continued to harvest throughout the week. Buds shown are mostly critical+, with a couple pictures of confidential cheese

Pictures of trichomes taken roughly 45 days into flower. Magnification unknown, but taken by USB microscope. Trichomes can be seen milky white, which means they are ready to harvest :)

Hi Tumblr. I haven't updated in a while as I have been busy with life stuff. Harvesting has been in a pain in the ass, work has been tough, girls, parties, etc...
But here we are. I forget exactly when these pictures were taken but I think it was roughly 46 days into flower. Critical+ is usually harvestable anywhere between 45-50+ days, and I decided to harvest one of the smaller plants here to reduce the smell in my apartment (it was intense and spilling out everywhere).
I also took a couple shots of the beautiful fan leaves which tend to turn yellow near the end of cannabis' life cycle

Here they are around 39 days into flower. Everything is starting to come together and its all looking really nice :) Unfortunately, however, they also SMELL REALLY STRONG. I'm getting really paranoid about the smell because one time I could smell them outside my apartment... a couple doors away... :X
Critical+ is a really smelly strain and I may need to harvest one early to contain the smell a bit..
You can see now how the pistils have started to change colors and collapse down. Soon, the trichomes will start to turn cloudy and eventually amber. I harvest when the trichomes are roughly 25% amber which I estimate will be at around 45-50 days in :)

Here are some updated pictures of my ladies, roughly 30 days into flower now. Less than 3 weeks left until harvest! The pistils should start turning brown pretty soon.
Also, several of my top buds are getting too close to my light so I am training them to grow to the side to keep them from getting any more heat stressed than they already are.

Hi all! This is part 2 of my 3 part series on cooking with Cannabis! We left off after our first decarboxylation of the trim. Again, we will go picture by picture.
Pic1: This is where we left off. Here we have ground trim, bud, etc, that has been decarboxylated at 220° for 20 minutes.
Pic2: Here I am warming up some coconut oil using hot water. Cooking your cannabis into some sort of oil makes it more bio-available as cannabis dissolves readily in fats. I use coconut oil at BadKat's suggestion as it seems to increase bio-availability, has great cooking properties, can freeze into a solid, and tastes great and is good for you :D. You can use something else such as budder or olive oil, but its possible you could burn those in the oven (I'm not sure, never done it :P).
Pic3: I add some lecithin into the mixture. Just a little bit! Lecithin is a food additive that has interesting properties. Here it is added to increase the bio-availability (and therefore potency) or your finished product through a process called liposomal encapsulation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liposome).
Pic4: Add enough oil to just cover your cannabis and lecithin, and stir that shit up nice and good. Then cover it in foil again and pop it back in the oven at 220°. This time let it cook for 40 minutes since the oil will take longer to heat up. After it finishes and has cooled down, I remove it, add some more lecithin (a tiny bit more), and pop it back in the oven once more for another 40 minutes at 220°. That makes a total of 3x decarb's.
Pic5: This is what the material looks like after all 3 decarboxylations in the oven. The lecithin has dissolved and the oil just barely coats everything.
Pic6: Now, keeping your material covered with foil, pop it in the freezer. I store my material in the freezer when I'm not cooking with it, but also putting it in the freezer is supposed to help break down the trichomes and increase bio-availability :)
Pic7: This is what material looks like when frozen: a giant green hockey puck. At this point it is definitely orally active, and cooking with it is as simple as breaking a piece of the puck off and using it in cooking recipes where they normally call for oil or butter.
And thats it! You now have orally active canna-goodness. All thats left to do now is cook it into something. I'll bake some brownies or something for party 3, but really you can use this stuff almost anywhere. Let your imagine run wild and have fun ;)
