Bloodied Waters
Pairing: Brienne of Tarth x Reader
Warnings: mentions of blood and slight violence, a tiny bit of angst, fluff, non-sexual nudity and intimacy. Slight canon deviation.
Synopsis: When Brienne returns covered in traces of battle, you give her comfort and safety - and a nice bath.
A/N: This has been sitting finished since July but I haven't wanted to post it for many reasons. For some reason I don't hate this fic anymore so I am taking the opportunity now so I can't revert back to my original state, lol. As per usual, English isn't my first language and all that.
Thank you to @daydream-cement for being the most supportive and encouraging friend I could ask for, and for reading this and giving me your opinion months ago.
Two months.
It had been two months since you had seen her last. Since she rode off to fight Gods knows what battle. In this time of uncertainty, you couldnât be sure where she was sent off to anymore.
The imminent threat of the Night King and his army breaching The Wall weighed heavily on the land and it resulted in Brienne being away more than usual â but she had never been away this long.
You couldnât be blamed when you began to wonder if she was still alive after the six-week mark and she hadnât returned or been heard from. No one had from the company she had departed with. And when it hit eight weeks, your worries didn't get any better.Â
So, they were all either dead or still fighting for their lives. Those were the only reasons your stress-ridden brain could come up with.
If she had been removed from this mortal realm, she would have died alone. Alone somewhere. Probably in immense pain.
Even if it hurt you to even entertain the thought, you hoped her possible death had been fast. That way, she didnât have to suffer.
Your heartbreaking thoughts were cut short by the sound of a horn, signaling that the group had returned and to open the gate. From your window, you could see a band of people on horses, three of them unmanned, which made you feel uneasy.
It was usually easy to spot Brienne in a crowd of people, but her straw-blonde hair was nowhere to be seen. The pit in your stomach that had been growing over the past weeks seemed to drop when you couldnât find her.
Maybe the chance of her losing in battle was more probable than you had been willing to accept.
But until someone explicitly told you that she had perished in battle, you would have hope for her survival.
You witnessed as the gate was opened and the warriors rode in - the people and horses disappearing from view before the gate was once again closed.
Staring out the window and waiting for a knock on your door was only going to drive you mad, so you decided to pass the time in some other way.
Scurrying about your room, you tried finding something to do but restlessness got the better of you, and you soon found yourself waiting for that knock on the door that could either be the face of your love, or the worst possible news.
After fifteen minutes of silence, you started to land in the fact that she may not have returned, and the person who knew about your relationship was slowly making their way to your room to deliver the bad news.
You couldnât take the agonizing pain so you left your room to venture for some hot water â hoping a nice hot bath might allow your tense body to relax. If even in the smallest bit.
When you returned to your room, hot water acquired, you were surprised to discover that there was no one waiting outside your door, nor had you met someone on your walk to or from. It was strangely silent.
The bath basin sitting in the adjacent room to yours looked more and more inviting by the second and you sprang into action before the water in your hands turned cold.
Pouring the large water cans with hot water into the vessel, you pondered how it would be to bathe with Brienne. How it would be to have such calm intimacy with the person you loved more than anything in this world.
The thought made you the tiniest bit sad and even if you wanted to keep the image in your head for as long as you could, you knew it was better to think about something else for now until you knew that the fantasy was a possibility.
You filled the rest up with the cold water from the large bucket next to the basin so it would even out to a nice lukewarm temperature.
Just as you were about to take your clothes off, a knock on the door disrupted your actions and you nearly ran to the door to open it â desperate for any piece of information regarding Brienne.
When you opened the door, you were met by a face you knew all too well, only this time, it was covered in dried blood, grime, and dirt. âBrienne, oh, Gods.â
You reacted quickly by ushering her inside your room and closing the door after her. She didnât say a single word and her eyes were empty â apathetic and void of any emotion.
You didnât know if the blood was hers or not but there was only one way to find out.
Carefully, you sat her down on your bed and undid her sword belt and fur cape before you began removing each piece of her dark armor, sneaking eventual glances at her emotionless face, your heart breaking each time she did not even make a move to look at you. She just stared dead ahead.
Never had you seen her like this before.
When all her armor was discarded, you were hit with the stench of iron, sweat, and mud â the smell of what you assumed to be battle. You moved your attention to her gambeson and gloves, working fast to get everything off to assess her condition â if she had been injured or not.
You remained quiet throughout your entire undressing of your girlfriend, if Brienne wanted to talk â she would. You assumed she needed some silence to process everything and just enjoy being back in a safe location.
The moment her gambeson and the rest of her clothing had been removed - you took hold of her dirty hands to guide her up to a standing position. You raked your eyes over her body and found nothing except for more blood, most likely having run down her neck and invaded the skin protected by the armor.
âThe blood is not mine,â Brienne croaked out. The sudden noise made you jolt, your eyes snapping up to meet her desolate ones.
âRight...,â you responded, her statement confirming that she was not wounded in a way that would warrant blood. With your worries settled, you guided her to the other room. You had poured the bath for yourself, but she needed it more.
Slowly, she stepped in, her hand in a steadfast grip in yours as she descended into a sitting position until her entire body was underneath the surface â releasing a sigh once the water enveloped her.
You let go of her hand and grabbed a bar of soap sitting on the table next to the basin and she let the hand you had previously been holding fall under the water as well.
Brienne sat in the basin, staring into nothingness â her breathing slow. You rolled up your sleeves, kneeled next to the tub, and submerged the bar in the warm water before you began gently cleaning her skin from the stench and the mud and blood that tainted her soft skin.
Starting with her face and neck, you used your hands to gently apply the soap and you observed the suds turning a brownish red as it mixed with the blood and dirt on her skin.
As your eyes scanned her face, you noticed that her disheveled blonde hair had also been soiled by blood spatter and dried mud.Â
âClose your eyes.â It was a gentle command, and Brienne complied â closing her eyes without question.
Using a cloth, you dunked it in the water and allowed it to soak before wringing it out â bringing it to Brienneâs face to wipe away the lather. You dipped it in the water again to rinse it, but you caught a glimpse of it before you did â the color of the froth alien on the white fabric.
With her face now clean, you moved on to her hair.Â
Normally youâd utilize your own mixed hair wash for this, but you didn't wish to leave Brienne in her current state to go and collect it. Soap would have to do.
Your movements were slow and calculated as you pressed gently on the bottom of her chin, signaling for her to lean her head back. Brienne complied and tilted her head back and you maneuvered yourself so you could have the perfect view needed to wash her dirtied hair.
Utilizing one of the jugs you had carried the water with, you dipped it in the water to fill it up and used it to wet Brienneâs straw blonde hair, going over it once or twice before you were confident that all the strands were permeated.
You grabbed the bar of soap once again and dragged it against the palm of your hand â getting a decent amount on it before placing the bar to the side and rubbing your hands together. Tenderly, you started massaging the soaping into her blonde curls and scalp, making sure that all the dirt and blood loosened from her locks.
Brienne hummed as your hands mildly rubbed her head â adoring the alleviating feeling it gave her. The feeling of comfort and security. Her eyes were still closed, and she could feel the corners of her lips twitch the tiniest bit as you pressed a kiss to her forehead before moving to fill the jug with water to rinse the soap out of her hair.
You worked softly and slowly when you combed your fingers through her locks â pouring the water over her hair as you did, making sure that all the lather was washed away.
With her hair, face, and neck clean â it was time to wash the rest of her body.
You moved away from the head of the basin and switched to sit at the side of it again, kneeling next to it. You grabbed the bar of soap and immersed your hand into the water that was starting to turn red at this point and started to cautiously drag the bar across Brienneâs chest â removing all the dried blood and dirt.
Whilst one of your hands was in the water, the other one rested on the rim of the basin, right next to Brienneâs ear, and before you knew it, you felt her leaning her head against it. A small smile started playing on your lips at the intimate position you had found yourselves in.
You had never experienced this type of closeness with your knight before â it was incredibly heart-warming and you wouldnât complain if you found yourself in this position again; without the blood and dirt, of course.Â
Brienneâs head rested against the back of your hand at the same time as yours worked on washing her arms, hands, chest, stomach â anywhere you had seen dried signs of battle.
You enjoyed every single second of the casual intimacy. The fact that there were still new ways to be so deeply close even after so many months made you incredibly giddy inside even when the situation you discovered it in was somber.
Like it had the entire time, the only thing filling the silence in the room was the splashing of the water as it hit the sides with your hand continuing to move as it scrubbed Brienneâs skin. It remained like that for a very long time until the blonde woman opened her mouth to speak for the second time since she had come home. Your hand that was scrubbing her sides halted briefly before continuing - her voice surprising you. âThank you.â
âFor what?â You couldnât help but inquire as to why she was thanking you. What you were doing right now only seemed like the most obvious choice. You took care of each other in any way the other person needed, and you were more than happy to offer her this small service.
She was quiet for a few seconds before she spoke again â her voice low, almost like a whisper. âFor this... and for giving me a reason to keep fighting. It... It didnât look very promising for a few moments, and I was... I was harboring the idea that I would never return to you again.â
You leaned forward to press a kiss to Brienneâs forehead as you continued scrubbing her skin beneath the surface of the water. âThis is the least I can do for you... you take care of and for me every day. I wanted to return the favor. Thank you for coming back to me. And youâre welcome. Iâm glad to provide you with a reason to keep fighting if itâll bring you back to me each time.â
Brienne hummed and whined slightly when you removed your lips from her skin. To have someone care for her in the way you did made her feel so gleeful and she was so grateful for you and all you did for her. âStill... Thank you.â
âAnything for my knight.â You smiled as you washed her and finished your response â already knowing the next words coming out of her mouth.
The blonde woman chuckled slightly and silently, having had this exact interaction with you many times before. By now, she knew you did it as a way of making her smile and it worked; every single time. âIâm not a knight.â
âTo me you are. Youâre my knight.â You saw the smile that crept up on Brienneâs lips at hearing your words, even if she had heard them many times before at this point. âBesides, if you were a man, we both know youâd be a knight by now. You have the traits of a knight, so in my eyes, you are a knight. Even if you donât have the title.â
Brienne adjusted her head to press a kiss to the back of your hand before returning to rest her cheek on it again. âYouâre too nice to me. Thank you.â
âI only treat you in the way you deserve to be treated. Not my fault youâre such an incredible person.â You said this in a way that made Brienne smile and blush â something that you did with ease many times over the two years you had known the adorable knight. It only got worse once you began your relationship because it made you able to be more frank with your compliments.
The blonde didnât offer a response to your words â silence filling the room once again. The way Brienne spoke about the battle, it seemed to have gone bad, so much so that she thought she wouldnât make it. You knew she would talk to you about it if she needed to and you had no reason to ask but a part of you wondered what happened that caused her to see no hope.
The rest of the bath went by in tranquility, the occasional kiss on Brienneâs forehead and the planting of lips on your hand mixed with the comforting sounds of water making the second part of the experience a very pleasant one.
After helping Brienne out of the now red-stained water and planting her before the burning fire in the other room to dry with a fur wrapped around her, you told her to stay put before running as fast as you could to her room to collect her comb, and dry and clean clothes for her.
You didn't wish to leave her but the clothes she arrived in were bloody and dirty, and you knew Brienne would appreciate the gesture.Â
When you returned, she sat with her legs drawn up to her chest with her arms wound around them on the fur you had put on her.
You slowly approached her and sat down next to her â her folded clothes placed on your bed, the comb resting on the pile. âHi.â
Her skin was dry now. Her hair was still a bit damp but you knew it wouldnât be long until it was fully dried as well.
Brienne sighed and leaned her head against your shoulder. She stared into the crackling fire â the flames dancing in her beautiful blue eyes. â...Hi.â
âHow are you feeling?â You wrapped an arm around her naked form and pulled her close to you. You had missed her so much and you were not ready to let go anytime soon except to get undressed to join her in bed.
âBetter now... A little tired.â Brienne hadnât had a decent nightâs sleep in weeks, and she was exhausted at this point. The adrenaline had finally worn off completely and she felt the fatigue creep up on her like she had expected it to once she was back in your safe company.
âItâs getting late... Do you want to go to sleep? I will deal with the water tomorrow.â The sun had started setting as you were washing Brienne and it had been well below the horizon for a while now. You pressed a kiss to the top of the knightâs head and awaited her answer.
âYes, please.â Brienne sat snuggly in front of the warm hearth, but she knew that it was much nicer to be in your embrace. It was warm, cozy, and oh-so-comfortable.
âOkay... Letâs get you covered and tucked in.â You stood up and began removing the things scattered about the bed. Brienneâs discarded armor, her dirty clothes, her cape, and her sword were swept off the mattress and placed on a round table close to the hearth. Her clean clothes and comb remained on the bed, and you squatted down next to her to lay a hand on her shoulder. âDo you want to get dressed?â
Brienne leaned her head against your hand and closed her eyes. âNo. I want to feel you pressed against me entirely. I donât want clothing to restrict me from sensing all of you.â
You almost melted from her sweet words. You rubbed your thumb against her skin, the pad of it grazing against the tip of one of her scars. âAlright, my sweet Brienne.â
The knight lifted her head from your hand and you slid it down her arm â leaving it to rest on her bicep. You gently rubbed it up and down as she opened her eyes and stood up.
You swiftly removed the pile that was on the bed and placed them on the table as well. You would have to comb her hair tomorrow instead.Â
With the bed empty, Brienne could pull off the furs and crawl in under them â covering her bare body and providing her with warmth and comfort for the first time in weeks.
She laid on her back as she watched you undress, folding your clothes and placing them on top of your trunk.
You finally crawled into bed and cuddled up next to Brienne, her skin incredibly soft. She hummed as you slung one arm and leg over her torso, bare skin against bare skin, and rested a hand on your thigh.
Her other arm went around your shoulders and pulled you closer â your head resting on her chest.
Her rhythmic heartbeat was a consistent reminder that she was indeed alive and still with you. After two months of being apart, the whole situation felt imaginary, but her steady heartbeat let you know that it was real â that she was indeed with you. âI can hear your heartbeat.â
Brienneâs hand on your thigh rested securely and her thumb drew soft lines across your skin. She smiled at your words as she kept her eyes closed to invite slumber. âItâs beating because and for you.â
Her words caused you to pull yourself even closer to her, which was impossible to do at this point. A smile and a blush crept up on your face, she always said the most adorable things and you had no idea what you did to deserve her love, but you were so thankful for her. âYouâre sweet. I love you so much.â
Brienne chuckled quietly and you could tell she was close to falling asleep by her voice. âYou bring out that side in me... what can I say? I love you, too. Thank you for being here when I returned.â
âI will always be here when you return,â you whispered. You were starting to feel the weeks of worried sleep catch up to you by now and you were more than ready to finally fall asleep in her embrace once again.
The only response Brienne gave was a hum and it fell silent after that.
You heard the knightâs breathing even out after a few minutes, and it signaled that she had fallen into a slumber that you hoped was a deep and restful one. You could only imagine the conditions she has been having to sleep in, and you couldnât see them being comfortable.
You listened to her breathing and heartbeat for a few more seconds before sleep claimed you as well. Now back with a safe Brienne, you knew that youâd sleep incredibly well. You always did with her.
When you awoke the next morning, Brienne would kiss you all over to make up for two months of being away from one another. But that was up to you in the future to find out. Until then, you were more than happy to finally be with her again, and you remained clinging to your knight all night long.

an: this isnât my best work and i know this series is probs long forgotten but i still wanted to put this out there! plus thereâs a surprise at the end đ
MDNI!!
after shutting the door gently behind manny, and staring at the wood, abby grins giddily. you were approximately ten feet away, in her room, sleeping under her sheets.
last night, you and her had both given in. you had quit your fighting, you had come to her. and she knew that now it was her turn.
she looks over her shoulder, seeing your figure below the covers, and she sighs. the clock reads 5:51 in the morning.
your face, while peaceful, was still sunken with exhaustion. she walks, her steps gentle and as quiet as she can make them, to your side. once again, she settles beside the bed, against the thin sleeping bag.
she took your hand that was still hanging over the bedside, pushing it silently towards your chest, and pulling the covers up your shoulder.
she turns to the side, leaning up on towards her window. she tugs the blinds down, securing any crooked ones individually with her thumb, to ensure the room was as dark as possible.
she wanted you to sleep as long as you could. sheâd let you sleep for days on end if youâd wanted.
she sighs quietly, laying on her back with her hands clasped at her stomach. the sound of your breath coaxes her into the exhausted state she was in only ten minutes ago, and she quickly falls asleep.
. . .
the sun is already shining bright above the stadium when youâre eyes finally flutter open. you groan softly, rolling on your stomach, and clutching the sheets. you nearly fall back asleep when the smell of pine that had been invading your nose all night finally registers in your mind.
your eyes shoot open as you quickly remember where you are, and you sit up. you scan the room with parted lips, your cheeks growing hot as your memories return.
âi want you to stay this timeâ she had pleaded. and you told her you would. you smile to yourself as you realized you had meant that. most mornings like this would be filled with regret, followed by you silently grabbing your shoes and fleeing.
but not this morning.
you slide to the edge of the bed, eyeing abbyâs shelf of cds to your left. as your feet hit the floor and you take your first step, you quickly feel yourself get caught on a firm, warm body.
âoh shit-âyou yelp, tripping over abbyâs sleeping form and practically kicking her in the ribs as you fall, sprawling embarrassingly across the floor with the groan.
abby springs up completely, her eyes blown wide as she clutches her stomach. her sleepy gaze focus on you, leaning forward worriedly.
âwhat is it? are you okay?â she asks quickly, reaching out to you as you pick yourself up.
you turn around quickly, your ears ringing from the awkwardness.
âyou- you oversleptâ you quickly stammer, clutching your surely bruised knee from the fall. âits almost ten!â
you expect abbyâs face to contort into worry, but it turns into something else entirely. she starts laughing, clutching her tensed stomach and doubling over.
âwhat?â you question with furrowed brows, your cheeks hot. âabby..â
âsorry im sorry-â she practically snorts, her cheeks growing pink from her laughter.
âyou just-â she giggles breathlessly, âyou stepped on me.â
âi didnât mean to!â you whine, still not finding the situation very funny. âi thought you were gone, you were supposed to be gone.â
âi- i got manny to take my patrolâ she breathes out, her laughs slowing but a bright grin still tugging at her lips.
âyou-â you look away, finally letting out a small laugh. âiâm so sorry, are you okay? i couldâve broken your ribs!â
abby shakes her head, still clutching her stomach as she laughs uncontrollably again.
âiâm fine, iâm okay.â she assures, watching you like youâre the most inexplainable thing to enter her life. which you are.
âyouâre soâŠâ she stops, looking away with a grin. she wanted to say something far too endearing, like adorable, or sweet. but she decides on something tamer.
âclumsyâ she finishes, shaking her head. âare you okay?â
you let go of your knee, and rub your ankle absentmindedly.
âjust bruised,â you laugh weakly once again. âprobably less than you are.â
she sits up, grabbing you gently by the arms and pulling you to your feet. you look up at her, brushing your hair out of your face.
âyou missed your patrol?â you ask her with a small frown. âwhy? i wouldâve⊠waited. like you askedâ
abby blushes, shrugging her shoulders gently. she holds your wrists in her hands, not wanting to let go.
âmanny owed me.â she says simply. âi didnât want to make you wait. weâve got important things to do.â
âimportant things?â you ask with furrowed brows. âlike what?â
âlike⊠training youâ she says with a coy smile. she finally lets go of your arms after giving them a gentle squeeze.
she adds on to her statement before you can open your mouth, bending down slightly to meet your eyes.
âjust⊠for a little while,â she nods quickly, her voice slightly nervous.
âi may have been.. wrong. with the way i handled things with isaacâ she finally admits, pressing her lips together.
âokayâŠâ you say slowly, watching her with careful eyes.
âbut,â she sighs with a smile, âi still want to.. give you some pointers. yâknow, before i send you out there.â
your eyes flicker up to meet her, lighting up completely, and your lips pull into a beaming smile.
âyou- youâre going to approve me?â you ask hopefully.
âi will..â abby breathes, bringing up her fingers to your forehead. she pulls a piece of hair out of your eyes, her touch fleeting but electrifying. âas long as you entertain this. okay?â
âdependsâŠâ you start to hum sneakily, watching her reaction. she narrows her eyes, and tilts her head, preparing to insist .
but you quickly smile, laughing to yourself.
âkidding,â you finally assure. âiâll entertain it. as long as you let me go.â
âi will,â she nods. âi promise you. just give me today. one day.â she takes a step forward, her eyes sincere. âthatâs all i ask.â
you smile, your lips pressed into a fine line. after a short moment, you give her a nod.
âokay,â you say gently. âiâll give you today.â
abbyâs face brightens even more, and she rocks on her heels with her shaky palms now clasped together.
âokay,â she repeats back, looking off to the side and up the stairs.
âuse my shower,â she nods towards her bathroom door.
you follow her eyes, seeing the full sized bathroom shared between her and manny; a luxury most wolves didnât have. all of your showers took place in a communal restrooms where privacy was out of the question.
âall my soap and everything is in my room,â you sigh out.
âuse mine,â she says once again, trying not to sound too excited about the idea. âi donât mind.â she adds nonchalantly.
you nod, turning your head and smiling to yourself. but you quickly furrow your brows and look back.
âbut my toothbrush-â you start but are quickly cut off.
âdonât worry about it- weâve got a whole bunch of unused ones in the closet.â she responds, but her cheeks turn pink.
âcause of manny,â she quickly adds on. âhe.. has a lot of guests.â
âah,â you laugh slightly, âand you donât?â
you immediately regret your question, as you quite frankly didnât want to know the answer. it wasnât your nature to be so flirtatious, but with her, you couldnât help yourself.
âno,â she says immediately, her tone more sincere than the previously playful exchange. âno, i donât.â
you blush, mimicking her mannerisms and rocking on your heels. youâd never say it out loud, but you were beyond happy to hear her say that. you didnât want anyone in her bed. that is, anyone but yourself.
âalright,â you breath, breaking away from her as you walk towards the bathroom.
âtake your time,â she calls out, watching you as you shut yourself in. as the door clicks, she springs into action, rushing giddily to the kitchen.
. . .
after finishing your far too long shower, you finally shut the water off. it had been a long time since you felt so.. clean, so rejuvenated. in fact, maybe it had been forever.
you groan softly as you dry yourself off, leaning over her ceiling high mirror.
the soap you used smelled like her. you smelled like her. not just from the shower, but from everything. the last night had restored you, and it had been in her room, in her bed. it wasnât just the sleep that made you feel better, it was abby.
your fingertips run over your bare skin, and you sigh as you feel where her hands had grazed you the night before.
she cups your shoulder, pushing your dazed, and cried out frame backwards on the bed. âyou should get some rest,â she mumbles, pulling the blanket over your figure, and waiting for you to lay down.
your skin feels hot, and you let your head fall into your palms.
shakily, she moves closer to you, tilting your face down. she keeps an unsteady hand on your neck as she brings her lips to your forehead.
you sigh out frustratedly into your hands, suppressing the noise into your skin. abby was just outside the door, preparing to train you.
but there was so much left unsaid.
she wasnât just letting you go on patrol; she was letting you in.
and you were letting her in too.
you hear a small knock on the door, and look over as abby cracks it open.
âclothes,â she calls out, sticking only her hand through the opening.
you smile, chuckling to yourself as you take the fabric from her fingers. she closes the door gently, and you turn back to the mirror.
âfuckâŠâ you sigh out, staring at your reflection. âokay..â
you silently get dressed into the outfit she had given you. the cargos were too big for you, but you belted them securely around your hips. the shirt was soft and loosed. it smelled, once again, of pine. of her.
you both knew you could just go back to your room to retrieve an outfit. yet you didnt. and she didnât ask you to.
you take several minute to compose yourself before finally opening the door to the bathroom. you are immediately hit with the smell of bacon.
abby peaks her head around the corner, sporting that signature grin you had grown to adore.
âi made us some breakfast,â she smiles, handing you a piece of toast as she flips the bacon.
âgotta get my-â she starts but falters with wide eyes. â-you ready for our day.â
you lean against her counter, watching her as she finished up.
she looked so good. her muscles half flexed as she flipped the bacon, hair loose and wavy, her hardened nipples poking through the fabric of her shirtâŠ
âyouâre staring,â she interrupts your spiraling thoughts with a sly grin, turning to meet your eyes.
youâre breath hitches, surprised but also not at her boldness. you shake your head, brushing off her flirtation. baby steps, you thought.
âi- im just starving,â you immediately defend.
she nods, plating the bacon and an unnecessary amount of toast, and handing it over.
âeat up,â she smiles, and you take it gratefully.
you grow oddly silent as the two of you eat, but itâs comfortable. it feels familiar.
the two of you keep your eyes on your plate, both glancing up at each other, yet your eyes never meet. abbyâs foot brushes against your ankle. she thinks about pulling away, but she doesnât.
âso..â she trails off, watching you with a curious and careful expression. âdo you want to talk? about last night?â
you pause, furrowing your brows in thought. you knew this would be brought up eventually, but you remained hesitant.
âi donât know..â you shake your head. âi donât have much to say.â
âyou donât have to say anything,â she says immediately back, leaning towards you and clasping her hands over the table.
âjust.. just know that thereâs nothing wrong with you. everyone has a breaking pointâŠâ she trails off, frowning. âhell, itâs a miracle you didnât reach yours earlier.â
you look away, suddenly feeling embarrassed by your unannounced arrival last night, but her voice calling out your name breaks you out of it.
âhey,â she whispers. âiâm glad you came to me. in fact, i want you to come to me.â
she pauses, her tongue rolling on the inside of her cheek.
âyouâre my friend,â she finally speaks, her voice slightly caught in her throat.
you watch her with a quivering bottom lip, feeling like you could cry from her words. it had been a long time since youâd had a friend. someone you could go to no matter what.
âthank you,â you whisper, and you both fall quiet again. the window is cracked at the edge of the room, and you sigh as you take in the fresh air.
âso,â you finally break the silence, finishing as much as you could of your food. âwhat does our.. training consist of?â
âwell,â abby leans back, stretching her arms behind her head with a long yawn. âi want to see you shoot.â
âcan do,â you nod, âwhat else?â
abby smiles at your line of questioning, tilting her head as she watches you.
âi want to see what you can lift,â she says.
âuh-â you laugh weakly to yourself. âyou wonât be impressed.â
âi just want to see,â she assures, laughing along with you. âi mean- i know you canât compare to..â she trails off teasingly, gesturing to herself with her large hands.
âoh hush,â you shake your head, âdonât get all cocky on me.â
âokay okay,â she puts her hands up, her eyes never leaving yours.
âanything else?â you sigh out.
âyeah,â she says, a little more slowly this time. âi want you to uh- you know- fight me.â
youâre face gets hot as memories run through your mind.
her knee digs into your thigh, pinning your leg down as she glares at you from above. each of your hands are in hers, sprawled out above your head.
you shake your head, struggling to snap out of it as you look up at her.
âweâve already done that once,â you reply, almost in a whisper. you keep a gentle smile on your face, but your heart races at the topic. âyou donât need to prove what we both know again.â
âyeah?â she leans forward. âand what is it that we both know?â
you narrow your eyes at her, sighing in slight frustration. even though you were getting along far better than you ever had, you both had the same stubborn and teasing nature.
âabby,â you breath. âjust because i canât- overpower you, doesnât mean iâm not ready.â
âi know, i know,â she nods, looking off to the side with a sigh. âyou said youâd entertain me on this. iâll play fair this time, i just want to give you some tips in combat.â
you breath in, rubbing your temples gently as you shut yours eyes.
âfine, fine,â you agree. âyouâve got a deal.â
âalright then,â abby smiles, standing up and reaching a hand out to you. âletâs get started.â
. . .
abby had been pleased with your shooting skills out on the rooftops, and even with your lifting in the west gym.
she knew little, next to nothing actually, of your past before coming to the wlf. but she did know you were training to be a soldier in your childhood.
as she walked by your side through the stadium, glancing down at you fondly every few seconds, she finally had the chance to talk to you about it.
âso you came here a few months ago,â she confirms as the two of you converse. âand you came with a group but they all got stationed at unit 10?â
âthatâs right,â you nod, staring down at your feet as you make your way towards the field.
âdoes that- you know- make you sad?â she asks you softly. âbeing separated from the people you came with.â
ânot really,â you reply honestly. âi wasnât particularly close with any of them. they were sick of fedra, and so was i. we were all helpful to each other on our way here but..â
you trail off, pressing your lips together. âit was just that. they werenât family.â
abby frowns, looking forward as your words make her chest tighten.
âdo you miss your old qz?â she asks.
âmost of the time no,â you say simply, looking up at her. âbut sometimes i miss the freedom.â
you cross your arms over your chest, padding quietly beside her.
âmost of the people i was around werenât.. good people,â you say softly. âbut with that.. there wasnât any friendship. any real emotional attachment.â
you pause, feeling her watch you as the two of you make your way outside into the cloudy arena.
âyou make that sound like a good thing,â she says with a laugh, but her tone was devoid of any humor.
âsometimes it was,â you admit. âmade loss a lot easier.â
abby stops walking, turning to you fully as she observes you with a gentle expression.
âis that why youâre so reserved?â she asks softly. âyou donât want to get attached to people?â
youâre suddenly very aware of the sincere tone in her voice. if it had been any other person asking you these questions, you would have fled long ago. you werenât one to open up, or complain about your past.
in fact, you had it a lot better than a lot of people this day and age. you never knew your parents, or had any family. you never had many close friends, and you never fell in love.
youâre life may have been pretty lonely, depressing even. but it was free of heartbreak. it was free of grief.
you had the feeling abbyâs was the opposite. and so did she.
âi donât want to be reliant on anyone,â you respond simply. part of you hoped that would be the last of her questions, but another part of you begged for her to ask more. you wanted her to pick you apart, bit by bit until she knew you inside and out.
âyou can love people without being reliant on them,â she says, but you canât help but shake your head in disagreement.
âi donât know,â you whisper, âi think loving is reliant.â
abby smiles bittersweetly, watching as a gentle breeze travels through your hair.
âmaybe,â she shrugs. âbut itâs worth it.â
you shrug in return, looking up at her.
âmaybe..â you repeat back as she takes several steps away from you.
the grass is dewy below your feet, brushing against the too-long cargos that cuffed your shoes. you shuffle backwards as well, looking around at the outdoors surrounding you.
you were still in the base, on one of the few outdoor patches that was left open for training. to your left were dogs, and horses, and ducks shut in stables. and on your right there were yards of garden boxes.
âdonât get distracted,â abby teases gently, watching as your eyes gloss over and take in the scenery.
âsorry,â you smile, looking up at the sky. âi havenât been out here in ages.â
abby frowns to herself, that familiar feeling of regret settling in her stomach. it wasnât often she second guessed her decisions, but when it came to you, things were different.
in her attempt to protect you, she somehow missed how unhappy you had been. she was harming you more than saving you. but she was determined to change that.
âokay..â she finally sighs out, going into training mode. âiâm not just gonna- come at you again i swear. i just want to show you some self defense.â
you roll your eyes ever so slightly, finding the whole situation silly.
âyou know iâm not completely inexperienced in combat, right?â
abby shakes her head, her demeanor still playful, but also genuine.
âscars fight different than what you were used to. guns wonât be enough. once they get their hands on youâŠâ
âokay okay..â you say with a small groan. âi get it. axes, and torches. show me what to do.â
abby smiles, straightening her back.
âalright,â she nods. âturn around.â
you furrow your brows slightly, but do as your told, turning your back to her.
âiâm gonna⊠im gonna grab your waist okay?â she whispers, quickly coming up behind you and snaking her fingers just below your ribs.
you shut your eyes, trying to breath steadily as she wraps her strong forearms tightly at your belly button.
âthe worst position you can be in is getting attacked from behind,â she says quietly into your ear, causing an eruption of goosebumps to run up your spine.
she was thankful you couldnât see her face, her red cheeks and forehead glistening with an anxious sweat. the wind whipped your hair slightly against her skin, and she nearly lets out a sigh.
âokay⊠now if they lift you.. you need to crunch your abdomen and kick your legs,â she instructs. âtry it.â
âo-okayâŠâ you stammer, holding your breath as she lifts you like itâs nothing.
ânow..â she laughs weakly, her nose against your neck. âpretend iâve got a dick, kick me there.â
âkick you?â you gasp out, eyes widening at her instruction.
âjust- do it gently,â she chuckles. âiâll be fine, just kick me.â
you bring your ankles up, and slowly bring one foot back down, kicking gently on her right thigh, just beside her crotch.
âgood.. good,â she praises, smiling to herself. âyou just gotta do that but harder.â
she reluctantly lets you down, her hands sliding away from your waist a little too invasively to be considered platonic. you turn back around to face her, your mouth pulling into a grin.
âand if my opponent isnât a guy?â i ask.
abbyâs expression falls slightly, her lips tightening into a thin line. she knew you were only messing around, but she didnât like to imagine the idea. to imagine a situation where you wouldnât be able to fight back.. a situation you couldnât escape from..
she narrows her eyes, crossing her tensed arms over her chest.
âkick harder,â she says firmly, and looks away.
. . .
the two of you continue your training session for nearly two hours, and abby shows you just about every defense mechanism in the book. how to block, how to kick where it hurts, how to punch without shattering your knuckles.
while she was admittedly pleased at how quickly you caught onto things, the entire situation as a whole was getting her riled up.
she knew that ending this training meant sending you out. something that, while she knew was going to happen eventually, she wasnât prepared for.
it wasnât often she allowed herself to truly care for anyone beside her close circle of friends she had grown up with.
she was living in a war, and while she had many great relationships in the wlf, she also had a lot of loss. death was an every day occurrence, and losing a peer, whether that be a familiar grunt, medic, cook, or even comrade, was something abby often experienced.
she had grown used to detaching from the people around her. she was someone everyone could rely on, yet it was rare a loss fazed her.
but you were different.
she liked you, she cared about you. you didnât fall into the large sum of people she could tolerate to see die, you never had.
you were one of her own now. like nora, manny, owen, and mel. maybe something even more important.
you were hers.
and she wasnât going to let you go.
ânow duck!â she yells, throwing an only half charged punch your way and grinning as you successfully dodge.
âblock, now throw!â she had shouted over a dozen times, the two of you maneuvering around each other as abby commands. âgood, good girl now back up- back.â
you shuffle your feet backwards, this time not waiting for abbyâs cues to start your movements.
duck, block, throw, back.
duck, block, throw, back.
âyouâve got it,â she smiles, her entire body now shining with a thin layer of sweat, the strands of her braid clinging to her neck and forehead.
âcmon now, iâm done telling you what to do,â she finally urges, panting as she raises her fists.
âshow me you can do this.â is all she says before you march forward, successfully dodging her soft hits, dancing around her stance as you push her chest back.
the two of you go silent, the only sounds filling the outdoors being the grass crunching below you and your short bursts of breath. you circle around each other, touching, and pulling, and grazing your dampened skin as you train.
abbyâs eyes narrowed, her irises fiery as she leans in. she grabs your belt loop, tugging you a little more aggressively towards her chest.
youâre surprised for a moment, whimpering as she goes to bring a gentle but firm hand to your throat, when you roll away from her grip, using your newly trained skills.
abby smiles at your maneuver, going once again to tackle you, but youâre already prepared.
this was it.
it was time you prove to her that you can do this, that you can be out there.
you werenât a defenseless medic waiting to be killed off in the field. you werenât unprepared, or stupid, or reckless.
you were reliable, and strong, and caring, and capable.
and in this moment, you were a girl, now straddling the hips of abby anderson, pressing her face into the dirt with a hand pinning her left arm to the ground, and your booted foot pinning the other, breathing heavily as you feel her racing pulse.
you clench your teeth together, tensing as you notice the buckle of her belt rub enticingly between your thighs. you feel her hips buck, and watch as she groans into the grass.
abby goes quiet, her chest heaving and her face flushed as you finally let go of her cheek, pulling your hands up but remaining on her lap.
she turns her head, looking up at you with a now toothy yet sly grin. she sits up with a grunt, looping her arms around your waist and holding you steadily against her.
and she leans in, her nose brushing against yours teasingly, her pupils focused on your parted lips.
âyouâre ready,â she sighs out.
and she kisses you.

mwaah ! đ
how you can help palestine, israeli themes in tlou, more ressources !
"baby, hurry. we're gonna be late." abby said, coming out of the bathroom. you were standing in front of your shared closet, staring at it.
abby looked at you and sighed. "what's wrong?"
you two had been invited to dine out with a few friends, to celebrate one of your closest friends' getting the job they wanted.
you shook your head. "i have nothing to wear." you answered. she chuckled. "kiddin' me? half of our closet is yours." she walked towards you while buttoning her shirt. "c'mon, what's wrong?" she asked once more.
you looked down at the clothes scattered on the floor. "nothing fits me the way i want it to fit. nothing. i look awful in all my clothes! i don't even fit in some of them!" you finally let out, frustrated, on the brink of tears.
abby hugged you. you hugged her back tightly. "i'm ugly, my clothes don't fit me anymore. i don't fucking know what to wear!" you cried. abby hugged you and rubbed your back. "shh, s'alright. don't be so mean to my girl." she whispered.
you both stayed in silence for a moment before you pulled away, looking down at your body. "what am i supposed to do? go out naked?" you sat down on the bed. "what now? i'm supposed to go and celebrate my friend getting a new job while i've been struggling to find one for years? supposed to pretend i'm doing okay, feeling good?" you scoffed, tears falling down your cheeks.
abby sat down next to you.
"hey, hey. look at me." abby spoke softly. you looked into her eyes and took a deep breath. "we don't have to go if all of this overwhelms you, okay? i can just call them and say one of us is sick." you shook your head.
"we all go at our own pace. s'not your fault it's harder for you to find a job. it's not your fault people don't answer your applications or reject you. okay? you're doin' your best, sweetheart. i've seen you overwork yourself, trying to perfect your CV, rehearsing for interviews. you're doing the best you can. i promise." she smiled softly, taking your hand in hers. "as for your clothes not fitting you..." she looked at the floor filled with clothes. "it's not your fault either." she looked back into your eyes. "clothes are meant to fit you, not the other way around. okay?" you calmed down a little. "if these clothes don't make you feel pretty, we can go and get you some new ones. new ones that will fit you, and make you feel as pretty are you are." you nodded.
"you're the most beautiful woman i know, sweetheart. prettiest girl." she said to you. "and you work so hard. it's not your fault if people can't see that, it's not your fault if people can't see your potential. you're doing your best and that's what matters most. alright?" you smiled a little, her words cheering you up a little.
"now, we're gonna pick out some clothes from your closet. some you feel comfortable in, and then we'll go out and have some fun. and tomorrow we can sort out the clothes that don't fit you anymore. how's that sound?"
abby always knew how to calm you down, to reassure you. she always knew what to say.
"sounds good." you said. you kissed abby's cheek. "thank you for always putting up with me." she chuckled and kissed your forehead. "no, thank you for trusting me, baby."
she helped you pick an outfit, helped you do your hair. she made sure you felt comfortable in how you looked, made sure you felt somewhat pretty. she held your hand at dinner, encouraged you to tell your friends about the interviews you did and how they went.
they told you the same thing she had told you earlier "it's their loss if they can't see the potential you have."
you all spent a nice evening, around a nice dinner, talking about your lives. abby was glad to see her girlfriend feeling better, talking proudly about her progress.
abby knew how hard it was for you, to speak positively about yourself. she was proud that you managed to do so tonight.

abby had spent long, stiffening hours sat rigid at her desk; upon walking past her office every so often, you'd hear the same consistent clacking of keyboard typing that had you question when she'd ever take that break she so deserved from work. you were very proud of how tirelessly she'd work every day, but she'd have you missing her dearly, even being in the same house.
after knocking softly on the door to her office, you entered the room with a slow click! of its handle and poked in your head, watching as she swivelled 'round in her chair to face you.
"hey, darling," you smiled tenderly, extending your arm to present a bowl embellished with fruits and a small fork. "made you a fruit salad. extra strawberries, just how you like it."
as you stepped into the room, she greeted you with squinting eyes and a tender smile, tilting down her head to look up at you through her glasses. she then patted her thigh and opened out her arms for you, pulling you in by the waist to sit you down on her lap. her large hand met the edge of your jaw, and with a sweet swipe of her thumb, she held you close as she planted a gentle kiss to your lips.
"thanks, sweetheart," she mumbled lowly. the corners of her lips still tug upwards in gratification, though her gaze shifted back to eye the screen of her computer once again. "i'm almost done, i swear."
"no rush," you moved close to press a quick kiss to her cheek, concurrently snaking your arm around her shoulders. you felt her hand press lightly on the small of your back, her thumb grazing you gently.
after placing the bowl of fruit on a free space on her desk, you take the fork, sticking its teeth into a strawberry slice. you then turn to hover it by her mouth, humming to get her attention.
"open," you murmur, giggling at the brief wave of confusion on her face before she chuckled, opening up to let you move the fruit between her teeth.
you placed the fork back into its bowl and ran your thumb over the corner of her mouth, wiping away the remnants of fruit from her lips.
abby quietened. with her eyes averted from the screen, she was seemingly focused on the features of your face â her slightly squinted eyes glinted with that of adoration, the softening look in her expression effectively making your stomach flip.
".. what?" you asked, heat creeping into your cheeks as they flushed under her focused attention. now crunching into the berry she shrugged, taking her hand from the computer mouse to cup the side of your face.
"you're so good t'me," she mumbled, her speech a little muffled. "dunno what i did to deserve you."
before you could reply, she took you in for another kiss. strawberry lingered on her lips, coating yours with its sweet tinge â her hand met your hips prompting you closer with a slight tug.
you wrapped your other arm around her shoulders, entrapping her in your embrace as you kissed. your stomach fluttered with relentless butterflies as you felt the warmth of her fingers slip under your shirt, roaming the side of your waist with light caresses that left behind goosebumps in its wake.
you pulled away first. with your eyes still shut you moved to rest your face in the crook of her neck, smiling against her skin.
"didn't mean to distract you," you murmured. "carry on."
she pressed a last, pronged kiss to your temple as she chuckled quietly once again, and her strong arms moved around to wrap around your torso, holding you close.
"'s okay, baby," she whispered, resting her hand against the back of your head. "i'm due for a break anyway."

Your eyes were so puffy already it was painful to keep them open. This was probably the third night this week you were unable to sleep due all the coughing and fever and just the general annoyance that comes physically and mentally due the flu.
And if being sick wasnât enough, being sleep deprived had been causing you some nightmares whenever you tried to sleep. Youâd only got some rest in those small moments before actually falling asleep, when youâre not too conscious yet not sleeping either, and even though those five minutes felt so good it wasnât enough.
You were just so exhausted and frustrated, not being able to do anything but stay in bed all day. Too weak to even shower, you felt so disgusted about yourself and so ashamed for letting Abby see you like this. She insisted you looked hot still, her pretty girl, but you didnât feel like that at all.
And you loved her and loved that she loved you so much too, but couldnât help but feel like shit for being such a burden, for not being able to help her as you usually did. Whether you stood at home or you went out with her you always did something to keep things calm for both, to make your lifeâs easier. And now you couldnât and besides that you looked horrible and felt horrible and you needed her like never but didnât feel like asking her for anything, she was working so har lately, to attend you and help you recover. You couldnât ask for more.
Until today. Your throat just felt so sore, your eyes felt like youâve been crying since forever due the little sleep youâve got and the sickness itself. And your nose and lips were burning from how much youâve been blowing your nose lately. You needed her, to find some comfort, to see if maybe sheâd got you to sleep as she usually did, just anything she could provide you, it would help and you were desperate for some of it.
âAbs⊠babeâ your small pats on her shoulder woke her up, trying her best to open her eyes and see whatever was wrong âwhat happened?â the sleepiness of her voice made you smile almost immediately, waking a small regret on you for not waking her up the other days you struggled to sleep. You knew she wouldnât mind it, but it didnât feel right.
âcanât sleep⊠and everything hurtsâ just as you spoke you could feel the knot of tears forming on your throat. It was all the exhaustion and frustration finally coming out. And Abby knew, she noticed just by hearing your voice that you needed her, and she also knew that you only needed her when you were containing yourself for too long. So she didnât hesitate on waking up completely, rubbing her eyes and gently sitting in the bed, opening her arms so you could cuddle with her.
âShhh shhh itâs okay⊠youâre alright nowâ her voice was a little bit husky, yet so comforting and smooth. you crawled to her arms, making yourself some space in between all the blankets âhow long have you felt like this huh? you know I donât mind taking care of youâ you could feel her arms slowly embracing you, pulling you closer to her and leaving just the right amount of space in between your bodies so you could properly breath âIâm sorryâ your tears started to stain Abbyâs shirt, making her heart ache âdonât apologize baby⊠itâs alright yeah? just let it all outâ
The tears finally coming out of your body, her pretty voice guiding you trough your sleep and the warmth of her body made you have a proper sleep finally. It took her long enough to get it but it worked, after some minutes you were already pressed on her, head buried deep on her chest and arms holding on her shirt gently. You couldnât look more prettier.
And even though your sleepy expression could still scream how overwhelmed youâve been feeling and your breathing was still unsteady, you were finally able to rest. Not as you wished but just enough to help you get better. And it was all because of her.
an: Iâm sick, AGAIN(? Third time this year and itâs only been one month. Wtf this is so homophobic đ
Anyways, I needed the comfort. Also check this or get the fuck out of here :) thanks thatâs all bye

girlfriend!abby đ«
ââŠâ she always buys you flowers because she thinks itâs a perfect way to show you how much she loves you!!! and she likes going to antique stores to find vases with cool patterns and buying them for you.
ââŠâ every last one of her pennies will be spent on you. no matter how much you protest, she looooves to spoil you and nothing makes her happier than the look on your face when she gets you a surprise gift.
ââŠâ i know i already wrote about this but she loves cuddling you before going to the gym early in the morning. sometimes sheâll get a little bit carried away and smother sleepy kisses all over your face and accidentally wake you up :((( she apologizes so many times but thatâs one of your favorite ways to wake up!!!
ââŠâ she likes to wear your clothes because it reminds her of you. especially if youâre a masc too, youâll never get your clothes back, sorry!! theyâre hers now.
ââŠâ some of the pet names she calls you are honey, sweet girl, and babe. but she also frequently calls you dude and bro just to piss you off.
ââŠâ thereâs always a book on her nightstand!!! she likes to read before bed or when she wants some time away from her phone. if you ask her for book recs she could write you a whole list of the best books sheâs read and an in depth rating without spoilers.
ââŠâ most of the furniture in her house/apartment was built or put together by her, including the bookshelf. she could sit on the floor for hours putting together an ikea coffee table while occasionally stopping to watch whatever music video was playing on the tv.
ââŠâ her gym routine is very specific!!! she has designated days for legs, arms, full body, and two rest days a week. and she makes sure she eats 3 meals a day and a snack, drinks enough water, and gets enough rest.
ââŠâ taking care of herself is super important, but she also loves taking care of you. knowing that she can keep you safe and happy makes her feel so proud!!! and whenever she has a rest day, sheâll spend the whole day cuddling you, cooking for you, doing skincare together, etc. sheâs such a sweet gf :((
ââŠâ she loves roadtrips!!!! just driving a few hours out of town to go exploring, sheâll bring her camera and take sooo many pictures of you to get developed later. and sheâll go with you to every shop you want to and sheâll buy you anything you look at!!
ââŠâ lowkey sheâs kind of a clean freak. growing up with jerry she was taught how to wash her hands like real doctors do, how to thoroughly clean and disinfect a space, how organization can impact your mood, all that jazz. she gets a lot of her traits from her dad actually, itâs so adorable.
ââŠâ iâm convinced sheâs the type of girl to take an edible and then clean the whole house because she suddenly felt super productive. youâll come home to her cleaning, shirtless because she got too warm, with her music playing. and then sheâll fall asleep right on top of you. <33
ââŠâ taking you to meet jerry would be super fun!! heâs such a sweet guy, and the love he has for his daughter is so adorable. heâs definitely the type of dad to go through an entire photo album of baby/kid/teen abby the first time you meet him.
ââŠâ once she asks you to move in (after only like 6 months of dating) she loves to decorate the space with stuff that represents the two of you. she probably has a pride flag hanging in a window, and she has a hook for her carabiner right next to the door.
ââŠâ sheâs super close with her friends!! sheâd love to take you on a double date with the two of you, manny, and whoever he was currently seeing. and you can count on her to always show up to leah and jordanâs shitty parties, even though they always end up super boring.
ââŠâ she loves lazy sunday mornings when she gets to cling onto you the whole day and never let you go. sheâll hold you in bed, in the shower, on the couch, in the kitchen, on the porch, in the middle of the grocery store, anywhere!!! she just canât get enough of you!! ;)

COMFORT IN THE SNOW | abby anderson x reader !

âhey!! stop! oh you are so gonna regret that!â abby chuckles as she throws another snowball towards you, shaking off the excess snow on her jacket in the process.
you giggle as you try to get away from her, your arm resting in front of your face to avoid any snow from hitting your eyes.
abby turns around as she kneels down on the snow, her hands forming another snowball to continue the snow fight, when suddenly she hears you get hurt. eyes widening, she rushes towards you and places her gloved hands on your shoulders as she tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, checking if she had hurt you badly.
âoh my god babe are you okay? iâm so so sorry i didnât mean to-â she starts apologizing profusely as she hears a soft giggle erupt from your lips, uncovering your arm from your face as you laugh uncontrollably at her reaction. abby sighs as she frustratedly looks at you, her hands moving up to your face, gently squeezing your cheeks as you try to squirm away from her touch.
âbabe!! not funny!! i seriously thought i hurt you!â she pouts, cheeks flushed as she stares at you, and you canât seem to stop laughing at her cute reaction.
âmâsorry abs, but your face!! it was priceless!!â you bring your hand up to your eyes, wiping your tears as you sigh contently, smiling up at her. abbyâs eyebrows narrow as her face contorts from a serious one to a soft one, her lips curling up to a small smile as she chuckles. seeing you smile so brightly made her realize how beautiful you were and how grateful she was to have you. to love someone so dearly. to call you hers.
she was undeniably in love with you.
you notice her smile turn into a smirk as you look up at her, slowly getting scared about what was about to happen next.
âoh yeah? you wanna see something even funnier?â abby smirks as she wraps her buff arms around your waist and lifts you up on her shoulder, you legs dangling as you screech at the sudden action.
âabigail anderson!! put me down!!â you try to wiggle out of her grip but she holds you tighter, preventing you from falling. but suddenly, you feel a rush of cold wind against your face as you find yourself on the snow, abby falling along with you as she laid on top of you.
you look at each other for a brief second, bursting into laughter as you laid comfortably on the snow. abbyâs hand reaches out to your face, pushing away some strands of hair stuck to your forehead as she stares at you lovingly.
âyouâre so beautiful yâknow that?â she blurts as you look at her, cheeks flushing from the sudden compliment. she chuckles at your reaction, finding cute the effect she has on you.
âgot you blushing real hard for me, havenât i?â you look away from her, instantly feeling so small beneath her as you try to push her away.
âpfft, itâs definitely because of the cold!!â abby chuckles as she plants a soft kiss against the side of your lips, your face getting hotter by the minute.
âyeah, sure it isâ

âž» 4:30pm. evening. jacksonville florida. summertime
this is probably the most relaxing evening you ever had in your entire existence. you felt the most safe at home with abby. you had no problem dropping everything to be with abby at home, doing the most mundane things known to mankind. some of your friends would even say you and abby are in yall the "boring couple era" however, the way you would rephrase it would be, "quality time". you didn't mind doing things that might feel boring to others with abby like watching TV, reading together on the couch, or even doing a puzzle on a friday night rather than going out to a club. it didn't matter what. just along you were being touched by her presence. and you know, when the time comes she will be there to cater to your social needs. always.
"I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make-Â I feel badÂ
you were feeling like a gooey pile of mush. it didn't matter how many times you re-watch 10 things i hate about you it seems like that movie had the undertone superpower to make you feel like your heart has been broken into a million pieces - and the craziest thing is that they are fictional characters. astonishing. you were so hypnotized by the movie that abby's words fell deafly onto your ears. with a small touch from abby, you peeled your eyes away from kat and patrick. looking at the sight of your beautiful girlfriend, the small colored freckles scattered all around the bridge of her nose. The best feature you loved was her nose and her watercolor eyes. the way her eyes would create this type of expression was only found in the imitation of the wild ocean water. you adored how blue they were under the shining light and how dark they would become in the shadows. "hm?" you blinked a couple of times, staying still upon her sight.Â
the pads of her fingers slowly and lightly stroke the peak of your shoulder. you moved in closer, head tilting in the process. "you okay abs?" you spoke softly. the guilt-ridden expression painted on abby's face, her chest heaved . "I feel bad" Abby's hand immediately went to the back of her neck while lowering her head. "oh baby" you cooed. the palms of your hands reaching the warmth of her cheeks, lifting her face to make her look at you." why? My love" god. if y'all couldn't get any closer. you moved from the soft cushion onto abby's lap. you draped your arm around her neck while your fingers found the shell of her ear; playing with it to soothe her overwhelming nerves.Â
"mmcht - I don't know. I feel like you shouldn't be doing this. you should be out - with your friends. I don't want you to be forced to be here just because-Â
"imma stop you right there, abs"Â Your lips drew this amused smile, her warm plumped lips being covered by your hand. her eyes flickered down to your hand and quickly back up to your orbs whilst her eyebrow frowned a bit -- giving the impression she was gonna whimper a bit. however, the hand that played with the ruffles of your satin shorts never stopped.Â
"When I first met you I knew we were the total opposite. I knew that I was more extroverted than you are. which is okay. I didn't let your social awkwardness or your introverted ways stop me from dating and loving you" you reassured. your eyes soften, you love abby with all your heart and when you love someone, you love them whole.Â
Your hand vibrated against abby's moving lips for a mintue or two. "I agree" you let out a small laugh. you both forgot your hand was taking up space on her face. she removed your hand from her mouth and into her own and as if it was a daily routine between her and you, she intertwined her calloused finger in between yours. "I enjoy my solitude, but ever since I met you I enjoy it even more when you're in it" abby whispered the small confession, god. there are not enough words in the universe to express the amount of love you harbored in your heart for them.Â
"I love you. I really do" You were lost for words, you love it when abby expressed these types of thoughts she had for you. abby heart swelled with pride at being your girlfriend because she never met someone capable of understanding her in a way she thought only she would. you are her soulmate. In a quick small vision, abby had imagined you in this most beautiful wedding dress known to man and with your ring finger decorated with the most expensive ring ever.Â
you notice abby was deep into thought so you nudged her slightly, "penny for your thoughts?"
"you wanna get marry?" abby spoke nonchalantly. you were taken back, as one would in this situation. Your eyes practically popping out of your sockets. "what?" you exclaimed.Â
abby shrugged her shoulders," I mean it"Â
you dwelled about it for a minute. me? mrs. anderson. that does sound good.Â
the enddd. đ

Abby x sick r!
a/n: I have three days with the most fucking annoying allergy ever so⊠itâs toooo short but idc itâs comforting đ«¶
warnings: none, all fluff đ€
âWhatâs wrong baby? Mhm?â her warm hands had been rubbing your back for some minutes already, your face was practically buried on her chest.
Youâd woken up earlier than usual and begged her to cuddle all day without any explanation, she had to get worried about it.
âI think Iâm sickâ she chuckled as she heard your constipated voice âWant me to cook you something? or maybe I could make you a teaâ one of her hands moved to the back of your head, running her fingers trough your hair.
âI donât wanna get upâ you complained, moving your head away from her chest to see her properly âI can bring it to bed, just tell me what you wantâ you shook your head in reply âI donât want you to go, I feel really really bad. Just stay with me?â
She kissed your temple, gently. Her hands moved around your body, bringing you closer to her and covering both of your bodies with the warm blanket. All the way to your heads.
âCan you at least go to the doctor? or let me go to the pharmacy to get you somethingâ the tone of her voice was still sleepy, a bit husky and low. It made you smile.
âLater. Can you please just enjoy cuddling with your sick girlfriend for a minute?â
âIf youâre so sick then isnât dangerous for me to be so close to you?
âThen go awayâ you tried to turn away but your bodies were so close to each other that you couldnât even move an inch away from her. Not that you mind it.
âIf you were as sick as you say you areâ kiss âthen youâ kiss âwouldnât beâ kiss âthis talkativeâ
Your hands moved all the way to your face, trying to cover yourself or push her away. Whatever it worked. But she just kept on pushing them away. Leaving more kisses all over your face.
Until she tried to kiss your lips, and you moved away.
âI donât want you to get sick tooâ you murmured as your face was hiding again on her chest. So close you could hear her heat beat.
âThat practically impossible babyâ a small laugh escaped from her mouth âCome on, lemme kiss you, yeah?â
How could you deny anymore when everything about her was just so pretty and comforting?

- something like this with abby; childhood friends to lovers.
Oof so angsty I love it thank you anon
Warnings: swearing, so much pining omfg, angst, ambiguous happy ending, I think thatâs it?
Hope you enjoy
You never used to hate your best friend. Youâve know each other since kindergarten, meeting on the playground after she helped you up after you feel off the monkey bars. If you knew where youâd be today you never wouldâve climbed the damn things in the first place. You would have spared yourself the pain.
It used to be so simple. Play dates that turned into sleep overs, which eventually turned into hanging out, then it was driving around when you both got your licenses, then it was applying to college together, then it got complicated. Part of you always knew you loved Abby. Hell in first grade you told her you were going to marry her because boys were icky and you would never love one like you loved her and you were right, you would never love anyone as much as you loved her.
When Abby met Owen thatâs when everything went to shit, on your end at least, a sick part of you hated that she got to be happy while you had to suffer. You would sometimes tell her about your flings just to see if that would get some kind of reaction out of her but no, she was happy and supportive of you. You hated it, you wanted her to feel what it was like to watch someone you loved for so long be happy without you.
You tried so fucking hard to be perfect for her, bottle everything up and hide every flaw. It hurt so much but fuck youâd do it for her. Sometimes itâd make you physically sick trying so hard.
Youâd study with her for hours, spend early in the mornings in the gym torturing yourself as you watched the way her body moved, these were the times you could she her without Owen. The moments when she was yours and yours alone. And if she was with Owen less and less well you didnât notice, youâre too caught up in keeping up your perfect best friend facade.
You hated your best friend so much you didnât even notice the way sheâd look at you, the way sheâd sneak glances at you at every opportunity she got, the way sheâd always reach out to you before she pulled her hand away. You were so caught up in the way she gave you butterflies you didnât even noticed the way sheâd distance herself away from Owen and move herself closer to you.
You loved her so much you hated her, but you didnât know that she loved you ever since you laughed so hard at her joke in sophomore year of high school that chocolate milk came out you nose.
You didnât know that during night time drives in senior year when youâd inevitably fall asleep while she drove, she would tell you all the things she loved about you.
You didnât know how sick it made her feel every time you talked about one of your hookups.
You didnât know she and Owen broke up because every time she talked in her sleep it was your name she said.
You didnât know she was outside your dorm room right now, hands sweaty and shaking because she was about to tell you the truth; she was so in love with you it was painful. So while you sat at your desk looking at polaroids that you took of you and Abby together through the years, while you loved her so much you hated her because you knew you could never have her. She was one knock away from giving you everything you could ever want.

LIFEGUARD!ABBY X READER
warnings: a wee bit of cursing, bad writing
notes: mhhh I love life guard abby sm(â âżâ ^â âżâ ^â )
it was a hot July afternoon when you and your family decided to drive to the local pool, you laid in a lawn chair as the sun warmed your skin, you had been going to this pool almost every day to cool off for the past month, the food never changed, the lifeguards never changed, nothing ever changed here and that's what you liked about it. but today you noticed someone different in the place of another life guard
you glanced over at her to find her already looking at you, she sat in her chair with swim shorts and a bikini bra, she leaned back and kept her gaze on you before waiving at you. your eyes slightly widened and you cleared your throat, you waved back and gave her an awkward smile, she smirked and looked back at the pool
the next twenty minutes was full of glances and small smiles, finally you decided to get into the pool to cool off . you took of your shirt and dipped your feet and ankles into the cold water, you sat by the edge of the pool with your cavs in the water for a couple minutes, waiting for your body to adjust to the temperature
you slowly sinked into the water till it arrived to your chest, you looked at the mysterious life guard now meters away from you, you squinted your eyes and saw her name tag, her name was 'abby' . you walked over to her chair and cocked your head to the side, she noticed your presence and chuckled, 'why do you keep staring at me' your question caught her by surprise, she tapped her finger on the arm of the chair and thought for a second what to say
'because i think you're pretty' she blurred out, her answer was straight forward making you raise your eyebrows, 'thank you, you're not too bad yourself' you chuckled at your own joke . she snickered and leaned back in her chair, 'whats your name pretty?' the nickname made you stiffen up a bit, you told her your name and she nodded . 'pretty name for a pretty girl' her comment made your body feel hot, 'i could say the same for you' you put your hand on your hips
'could I have your number' you bluntly asked, she nodded her head and pulled out her phone, you exchanged numbers and talked for the rest of your time there . you learned a lot about her, why she chose this job, her hobbies, her family and other stuff, no one was really there at the time so it was almost just you two . you heard your family call your name as they packed up they're bags, 'oh shit I gotta go' you climbed up the short pool later, she waved at you as you walked back to you chair, you waved back at her and yelled a loud 'bye' at her, your loud voice made her laugh and pinck the bridge of her nose
by the end of her shift she couldn't stop thinking about the pretty, loud and upfront girl she had met hours ago
