IN MY.. 'CANON' for WC content I make, living leaders can only speak to their Starclan Guide. Living leaders are led by their previous clan leader, and medicine cats convene with either a previous medicine cat, or a dead cat they had an intense bond with, BUT they can also sometimes catch random cats' spirits if that cat really wants to speak to them, OR if they're granted the chance by the clan leader's Starclan guide.

Still, leaders can only speak to Starclan for the time that they're dead, between lives.. ____

The camp had bern upwind of the fire, set down in a hollow where no cat had much of a chance to take note. Honeyfoot had panicked- of course he had, everyone had taken to shouting and fretting- and nobody had wasted the time it would have taken to organise.

He’d grabbed Phloxkit and run out onto the plains- trying not to fall behind or be trampled, knowing he could meet up with the others once the danger had passed. She didn’t protest for long, understanding his fear, if not the situation.

But they were exhausted, and the camp had burned so very hot, and Honeyfoot had run till his paws bled, and covered quite the distance. . As rain started to fall, bringing an end to the white-hot terror, and the two cats found some meagre shelter, Honeyfoot promised himself- and Phloxkit- and they’d search for survivors tomorrow.

You don't have to lock it behind patreon. You can send things like WIPs, early pages (maybe days or so earlier than the Tumblr itself), or life updates there instead. Plus, people can just... Pay you to pay you. Pay because they enjoy the content. Not because there's anything they get out of it. You don't HAVE to give anyone anything to have a Patreon or Ko-fi up, sometimes people just want to support authors they enjoy. I know if I had income I would.

YOU’RE SO KIND. i definitely understand why fulltime artists paywall QnA’s, asks, tutorials and tips and stuff bc it seems easy and quick but it takes a lot of time and energy. and i am putting early access out of pretty much everything i do, including comics, when my patreon and ko.fi go up!

Hai ik you're going through some tougher times rn but I just really want to thank you for making this blog, I've wanted to play a clangen challenge for awhile now but I simply just don't have the resources to do so, and because of this blog and seeing so many ppl get inspired and you supporting them, I finally managed to muster up the courage to ask my online friends to help me with this passion project

One of my friends was very happy to help and while working on this together, we've gotten super close and I've never been happier, we're working on more stories and stuff together now, and I even downloaded games just to play with them and it's been super great and fun! I can't really get to do this with anyone irl and well I'm glad I've been feeling less lonely now

this is honestly one of the nicest things i've read AAAAAAAAAAAGHHHH there is NOOOTHING like partaking in an art project with a friend. or like.. RP groups/collaborative writing if you're into that. i've met some of my best, closest friends through those means. i don't have any friends in person who share my special interests but having some friends online who do, makes a world of difference and if you're doing a comic with a friend, you get to help carry the load. BC IT'S HARD WORK, no matter how much fun you have THIS IS A GOOD LESSON. if you're worried about doing things alone, and you have some friends who share your interests, ask them if they wanna do it WITH you. comic, or story, or EVEN JUST COLLAB ON ART. it's good for the soul..

Ko-fi is another option for monetization. It offers the monthly subscription type that Patreon does, but with the bonus of allowing people to pay manually instead of subscribing and seeing the stuff for 30 days.

You can also be directly donated to (and Ko-fi by default does not take a cut from donations). There's a shop, and that could be used for adoptables for example. If you have physical products you'd have to handle sending those yourself, though.

Ko-fi does have Discord integration if that's something you'd want to do.

They're actively developing, polls being added somewhere in the relatively near future.

THANK YOU FOR THE INSIGHT TYSM. i have a ko.fi page set up! at first i was just using it for small commissions and mini adopts BUT YEAH IT'S.. LOVELY i'll be using it alongside patreon more or less as a tip jar (ofc i'll still be working on commissions and ychs and adopts and stuff as primary income. we on that disabled adult GRIND!!!!) where i'll offer early access and some behind the scenes things! just optional if people wanna tip and enjoy some discounts, extra art/get things early! i'm surprised how many people have a large preference for patreon tho! i guess i kind of get it bc a lot of artists are on it and they can just follow whoever they like, BUT AAAH.. ko.fi's a lot cozier and less.. Sterile in terms of discord, i've always wanted to open one for good vibes, art things, helping other artists out and stUFF AND THINGS but it's been really hard to justify- OR EVEN FIND THE TIME TO- moderate and dedicate actual honest attention to it while i'm scrambling to do other.. workish things and social burnout. THAT SAID, if i ever get enough members/patrons that show interest or even want that, i'll probably open up a discord where i offer redlines/help/space for people to share, etcetc. and i won't feel like i'm dicking around at that point bc it's a community thing! OVERALL THO, i've come to find ko.fi is a better place for selling anything and offering discounts on said items. IT'S ACTUALLY REALLY INTUITIVE FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO OPEN A LITTLE ADOPT OR COMMISSION SHOP, seriously consider Ko.fi. it also just has a rly nice friendly, warmer vibe!

longform.. ok first and foremost, and most regrettably for me- going forward, I won't be able to answer as many asks, and scour for as many blogs to share! I'll share whenever possible and try to answer questions and help out when I can, but I can't promise anything going forward for a while. :{ For a bit of transparency to offer the SLLLIGHTEST explanation, I can only make money through my art! Some things have changed in the living situation I'm in, and I have to crack down on keeping that.. going. I don't entirely have the luxury of just having fun drawing and just waiting on potential commissions anymore! So I'm going to have to be smarter about things. Sadly, that means I've got to #1, concentrate on artistic things that bring money in, and #2, work on making art a viable thing that does that. I don't feel comfortable advertising my patreon here (it's not even public yet smh) because I want this to be a place people come and have fun and read and feel free to ask questions and not feel like they HAVE to pay for that, AND I HOPE YOU STILL DO. That wasn’t your fault, you just drew it (amazingly btw I absolutely love how their death was done with it not being shown directly, but being foreshadowed by the stars in the text bubbles and stuff and then with everyone looking sad and Frostkit and agdjfj) but that’s not the point of this ask
