online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

Technophobes need to apologise for "just put it in plain English you stupid machine!" because, well for one the decline in accurate error messages in favour of simplicity has contributed to the rise of tech illiteracy, but also because now whenever an "app" has a net connection error it will pop up a box saying something like "oo ooopsie! Your super duper feed went poo poo. We'll try again soon!" which having said to me by a corporation is about 8 million times worse than having to hear the word "network".

what you may not have realized is that I learned this crucial piece of life advice from an episode of Star Trek where Scotty is telling Geordi that whenever he told Kirk something on the Enterprise was at full capacity, it was always only ever a notch or so below full capacity so that Scotty looked like the god of all engineers when he was able to magically hack the warp drive to run a little beyond what he’d told everyone else was “full capacity” and honestly that one throwaway gag from Star Trek has changed my life.

I really am glad that anime only people finally get to see the funniest thing about Marcille's feelings for Falin, namely how Marcille spends the entire story up to that point fawning over Falin and how cool and powerful and special she is while also acting like Laios is a deranged weirdo who tortures her for fun, only for the story to reveal that Falin is a Carbon Copy of Laios in almost every way and absolutely down with all of the freaky shit he's been up to. hello! I'm still dealing with troubles with my boy Oliver. Oliver's diabetes is proving difficult to get under control and as a result he's been going to the bathroom on the floor. I'm doing everything I can to get his diabetes managed but it's going to take time.

in the meantime, I'm trying to mitigate the issue with diapers and let him retain some freedom (I had him confined to the bathroom for several days before this) without risking damage to the house, which is not mine, and without risking my living situation. the solution at the moment is diapers and a cat onesie to keep him from removing them, which are.. both kind of expensive. and I am still living off disability. the cat diapers came out to $1.50 each, and I'm going to buy human diapers next time and cut holes instead, but I'm gonna need at least one other onesie to alternate between and that one was about $15

I'm not starting a formal fundraiser for this for many reasons but if anyone is feeling generous I would appreciate any help with these supplies
