The Civil War in the United States was between states for 4 years until 1861 to 1865 

The Emancipation Proclamation was when president Lincoln freed the enslaved people .President Lincoln should not be viewed as a hero for emancipating enslaved people because he didn't care for them like he did for the white people for example the black people will be getting low pay and the white got the highest and also he only freed them for the army .

According to source_3 , it states how Lincoln only freed the slaves to go in the amry some evidence is that “ I further declare and make known, that such person freed  will be received into the armed ser of the United States. In source 6 it also states “ for the Union Army, was [angry] that black soldiers captured by Confederate troops had been mutilated, tortured and assassinated in cold blood. Some had been sold into slavery”.This explains how Lincoln should not be looked at as a hero .because he only freed the slaves to go in the war and also he did not really care about the white people would still get paid more than the black people, that shows how Lincoln should not be looked at as a hero.

In conclusion, Abraham Lincoln is similar to a villain because didn't care about the black people as for the white people. This is important because it shows us not to look at Lincoln as a hero because he did not care about the black people. For example, a woman named Susie King Taylora did not get paid a dollar for 4 years. This is important because it talks about how it was unfair for the enslaved people because they didn't get the same privilege as the white people the black people wants it to be even The impact of the Emancipation Proclamation was  good and bad at the same because he changed history for black people but at the same time he did not really want to free them he only use them to win the war This is important because it states how Lincoln is a villain and a hero because he freed them but he only used them for the army to win the war but  some evidence from my source is ” for the Union Army, was [angry] that black soldiers captured by Confederate troops had been mutilated, tortured and assassinated in cold blood. Second, that colored soldiers ought to receive the same protection when taken prisoners. . . and if Jefferson Davis should shoot or hang colored soldiers in cold blood, the United States government should retaliate.`` Therefore this shows how Lincoln was a bad person at the same time because he only freed the slaves so they can win the war and also Lincoln did not have care for the black people as the white people  black people would be paid less than the white people .
